Chapter 491: 183 Harmony_2

Tingzheng nodded vigorously, "Rest assured, my word is my bond."

Mingzhu hadn’t spoken to Yueyao for two days and was feeling suffocated. She wanted to make up with Yueyao, but the thought of Yueyao criticizing her Brother Xuan as utterly worthless made her choke with anger.

Mingzhu softly said to Bai Yi that as long as Yueyao apologized to her and never spoke ill of Brother Xuan again, she would forgive Yueyao’s rudeness. However, Yueyao completely ignored her and went about her business as usual, infuriating Mingzhu so much that she felt a lump of blood stuck in her chest.

Early one morning, Bai Yi smiled and said, "My lord, Miss Yueyao’s brother, Young Master Tingzheng, will arrive at noon. I have already instructed the Kitchen Maid to prepare additional dishes." It was obvious that Tingzheng’s visit to the villa meant he had something to discuss with the hostess, Mingzhu.

Mingzhu snorted but said nothing else.

Tingzheng arrived at noon. He looked at Yueyao and called out loudly, "Sister." It had been two months since he had last seen his sister.

Yueyao led Tingzheng into the courtyard. The sun had tanned Yueyao, while Tingzheng’s skin was fair and tender, resembling a freshly peeled egg, creating a stark contrast between them.

Mingzhu couldn’t help snickering at the clearly distinct brother and sister. She saw Yueyao every day and felt nothing special, but now, with such a strong contrast, it was hard not to notice.

Laughing heartily, Mingzhu said, "Yueyao, compared to your brother, you look like a piece of charcoal!" Although Mingzhu also sunbathed, she didn’t run up and down the mountains as often as Yueyao, so she wasn’t as tanned.

Yueyao was speechless, but Tingzheng became angry and shouted at Mingzhu, "Don’t bully my sister." It was too much to call his sister a piece of charcoal.

Mingzhu, unaware, stepped forward to pinch Tingzheng’s soft cheeks, exclaiming, "Such beautiful skin. Yueyao, how did your brother grow up to be so handsome?" This child was truly beautiful, the most handsome boy she had ever seen.

Tingzheng shook off Mingzhu’s hand, glaring at her intensely.

Yueyao touched his head and laughed, "Tingzheng, this is Sister Luo. Sister Luo was just joking, she meant no harm."

Tingzheng instinctively disbelieved her, "Really?" He didn’t think she was joking; it seemed like she was mocking his sister.

Tingzheng examined Yueyao carefully and realized she had indeed become a lot darker. He quickly said, "Sister, have you been suffering on the mountain?"

Yueyao smiled and replied, "What suffering could there be? Now call Sister Luo."

Reluctantly, Tingzheng called out, "Hello, Sister Luo."

Luo Mingzhu was pleased to hear this and, unable to resist, pinched Tingzheng’s face again. His face was truly pinchable, and even Luo Mingzhu felt envious. "Yueyao, what skincare does your brother use?"

Yueyao’s face was lined with frustration, and she hadn’t yet realized that Luo Mingzhu was actually quite foolish; it was her first time seeing this silly side of her.

Yueyao couldn’t be bothered with her and took Tingzheng to the study to ask about many things.

Luo Mingzhu, listening by the side, grew impatient. "What is all this, it’s not as if you are his parents. Why ask so many questions?" Mingzhu couldn’t help but interject, "Yueyao, let’s ask more tonight. Why not take your brother out to play for now?" It was her first time encountering such a playful child!

Yueyao, her eyes gleaming, gently shook her head. Although Mingzhu had been angry and given her the cold shoulder two days ago, she hadn’t completely turned her back on her. This was enough to prove that Mingzhu’s feelings for Ning Lixuan were not as deep as Yueyao had thought, at least not to the extent that it had to be Ning Lixuan or no one else.

Yueyao knew what being truly smitten with someone was like, that feeling could destroy worlds and instill fear in anyone who saw it. She sensed sadness and sorrow from Luo Mingzhu, but not the kind of excruciating pain that made one loathe to live. Yueyao felt she could set Mingzhu straight.

Yueyao patted Tingzheng’s shoulder and said to Mingzhu, "Alright, why don’t you take him out to play for a while?" Mingzhu was essentially still a child at heart, fond of playful frolics, but Yueyao was no longer interested in such things.

Mingzhu tried to cajole Tingzheng for a long time, but Tingzheng didn’t give Mingzhu a single pleasant look. Tingzheng didn’t like Mingzhu, feeling that this sister was crazy, laughing loudly without reason, quite nonsensically.

Looking at his sister, who stood on the side with a smile on her face, Tingzheng muttered to himself that it was his own sister who had the more beautiful smile.

In the villa, there was nothing much to enjoy.

Unable to find anything interesting for Tingzheng, Mingzhu suddenly remembered something and asked, "Tingzheng, do you know how to ride a horse? How about your sister takes you riding?"

Yueyao was surprised. "There’s a stable here? How come you never mentioned it?" She had been here for two months and didn’t even know there was a stable on the mountain!

Mingzhu waved her hand, unconcerned, and said, "What’s the point in telling you when you don’t learn to ride? It’s too hot these days, I don’t even feel like riding." Sweating profusely from riding was extremely uncomfortable.

Tingzheng was eager to go to the stable and quietly said to Yueyao, "Sister, let’s go and see! Brother Li Han has already learned how to ride, and I still haven’t." He too wanted to learn to ride, but Uncle Li and Auntie Li would not allow it, saying he was still young and should wait a couple of years before learning.

Yueyao, smiling, replied, "Let’s go tomorrow morning, the afternoon sun is too harsh." The afternoons were stifling, and one would be drenched in sweat not long after reaching the stable.

Mingzhu was surprised by Yueyao’s reaction; she had thought Yueyao would consider horse riding inappropriate for a young lady. Had she known earlier, she would have gone riding long ago; Mingzhu felt she had miscalculated.

After dinner, Yueyao introduced Tingzheng to Hua Shaoye: "Tingzheng, this is the bodyguard I have hired for you. From now on, you must bring him with you whenever you go out. Remember that?"

Tingzheng always listened to Yueyao and naturally had no objections.

Hua Shaoye, hearing this, stepped forward and bowed to Tingzheng: "I have seen the young master." He would now follow this boy.

Observing Tingzheng’s features, Yueyao had a thought. "Tingzheng, would you like to learn martial skills?" She had always been worried about Tingzheng being too attractive to defend himself. If Tingzheng learned martial skills, he could protect himself in the future.

Tingzheng was taken aback. "Learn martial skills?"

Yueyao thought this was a great idea. After all, she wasn’t counting on Tingzheng to bring glory to the ancestors; it would be a blessing just for him to live peacefully. Thinking this, she playfully said, "Yes, if Tingzheng learns well, he could protect his sister in the future and we won’t have to fear anyone bullying us again." Convincing Tingzheng was not beyond Yueyao’s means.

Tingzheng’s eyes lit up, and he asked Hua Shaoye, "Really?"

Hua Shaoye nodded, "It’s true. Learning martial skills not only strengthens the body but also protects oneself. This young master looks too good; learning some martial skills would be beneficial."

Thereafter, Tingzheng was resolute. "Okay, I’ll learn."
