Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Fiery Spoiled Girl VS ‘Affectionate’ Best Friend (Part 17) Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Fiery Spoiled Girl VS ‘Affectionate’ Best Friend (Part 17) As they were speaking, the three police officers who had entered the warehouse had already come out.
Gu Shengyin immediately noticed that each of the three officers was carrying someone on his back. At the front, the person being carried by a young officer–was that not Su Qing?
Everyone hastily ran over, and Gu Shengyin also quickly made her way to the officer’s side.
Su Qing, lying on the officer’s back, appeared to be in no serious trouble, but her face was somewhat pale, and her eyes were tightly shut, seemingly having fainted.
However, the expressions on everyone’s faces turned strange when they saw the people on the backs of the other two officers.
They were two girls, their faces smeared with so much mess that their features and ages were indistinguishable, their long hair disheveled, wearing oversized dresses.
Nobody present was foolish; looking at their attire and thinking back to the “ghosts” they had encountered earlier, they were shocked and pieced together an idea of what was happening.
The three officers also didn’t look great. Although they had not taken the girls’ initial reports of a ghost seriously, it now seemed there indeed was a ghost, except this “ghost” was human-made.
The leading officer looked at the group, originally planning to tell them to head to the police station to provide statements.
Gu Shengyin tugged at He Junyan’s sleeve and whispered, “Uncle He, I want to go home.”
He Junyan gently patted her head to comfort her and said to the officer, “Comrade officer, it seems they have all been terribly frightened today, and these few…” He pointed at the three unconscious people. “They had better be taken to the hospital for a checkup; they look pretty severe.”
“May I take my child home first? Rest assured, tomorrow, I will personally bring her to the police station to cooperate with your work.”
This was usually against protocol, and upon hearing this, the young officer’s brows furrowed, about to say something, but the older one patted his shoulder.
“No problem at all. We’ll take the other people home first, Mr. He, you just take this young lady home. It’s just that we will need to trouble Mr. He to make a trip tomorrow.”
He Junyan nodded at everyone and took Gu Shengyin with him into the car.
As for the remaining girls, those with parents coming were taken away by them, and the others were sent home.
When He Junyan brought Gu Shengyin back home and got out of the car, Gu Shengyin clung tightly to He Junyan, grabbing his sleeve and not daring to stray half a step away.
He Junyan found it both distressing and slightly amusing, “With such little courage, you still dared to go on an adventure in a haunted house, eh?”
Gu Shengyin made a wronged face: “I didn’t want to go originally; they insisted on dragging me along.”
He Junyan’s face turned serious, “Speaking of which, I haven’t settled accounts with you yet; you lied to me, saying it was just a dinner with some classmates? You’ve grown up, your wings have hardened, have they? Now you’ve even learned to lie to me!”
Gu Shengyin looked at him with a pitiful expression: “I was wrong, really, Uncle He, I was wrong. I will never lie to you again, I’ll be sure to report everything to you in advance.”
Her attitude was so earnest it was almost unbelievable, and He Junyan figured the young girl must have indeed been terrified this time.
“It’s good if you’ve learned your lesson,” he said sternly.
Seeing the evident fatigue on Gu Shengyin’s face, he patted her head, “Go have a nice bath and relax, go to rest early. I’ll call your teacher to ask for a leave of absence for you.”
Gu Shengyin rolled her eyes internally: To ask for leave over such a trivial matter–if she were really a little girl of such an age, she’d truly be spoilt to the heavens.
