Chapter 388: Chapter 388 Cross-Dressed Female General VS Stunning Vixen (Part Ten) Chapter 388: Chapter 388 Cross-Dressed Female General VS Stunning Vixen (Part Ten) The carriage had traveled for who knows how long, finally coming to a stop at a certain place.
Gu Shengyin got up and lifted the curtain to find that they were indeed no longer within The Imperial City.
She collected her senses and glanced at Jiang Huan, only to realize that he had opened his eyes and sat up at some point.
Gu Shengyin smiled and said no more, swinging herself down from the carriage.
Jiang Huan followed after her.
This was a sizable estate, and seeing how spotlessly clean it was with all the flora neatly arranged, Gu Shengyin knew it was well maintained all year round.
Jiang Huan led the way for Gu Shengyin, “This is an estate my mother chose for me back in the day. She fancied the quiet surroundings, free from the disturbance of idle folks.”
The coachman was not around, probably tending to the carriage somewhere as another person from the estate guided the two of them.
Someone had already prepared fresh fruits and snacks in the courtyard, where the two sat down to rest for a while.
Jiang Huan instructed, “Bring out my fine tea.”
He smiled, “It’s not good to drink alcohol at this hour, come evening, I’ll have them prepare exquisite dishes to accompany the drinks, and you and I will drink to our heart’s content under the moonlight.”
Gu Shengyin smiled and nodded, “As Shian says.”
The tea arrived quickly, not brewed but with a servant bringing a small stove and a full set of gear for tea preparation. From this setup, it was obvious Jiang Huan intended to personally prepare the tea.
Jiang Huan found himself increasingly fond of Gu Shengyin the more he looked at her, feeling that such an instant bond was extremely rare.
“Servants are unsophisticated, let me brew a pot of tea for Yunzhen.”
Gu Shengyin watched him, smiling as he brewed the tea with the grace of flowing clouds and running water, then placed it before her, “Try it.”
Gu Shengyin lifted the cup and took a gentle sniff, then sipped lightly, her eyes lighting up, “Is this the fine Longjing before the rain?”
Jiang Huan initially just wanted to show importance to a good friend, thinking that a military general like Gu Shengyin would not be particularly discerning about tea. Unexpectedly, she pinpointed the type of tea in one guess.
In his surprise, there was an even greater delight, like when you think someone could be a friend compatible with your sentiments, and upon further interaction, you find they not only click with you instantly but can also discuss the beauty of flowers and the moon, sharing even more common interests with you.
Jiang Huan nodded, “I didn’t expect Yunzhen to be versed in the art of tea as well.”
Gu Shengyin did not directly answer the question but instead said with a smile, “I don’t just recognize this as the fine Longjing before the rain, but I also know that the water used to make this tea is mountain spring water from Gao Ling.”
Jiang Huan looked at Gu Shengyin as if he was gazing at an incredibly rare treasure.
Gu Shengyin chuckled inwardly: Fu Yunzhen might not be that versed in tea, but Jiang Lingzhen is, Liang Chenyu is, and the system is too.
She was more than willing to have more in common with her lover.
The two sat and chatted for a while before Jiang Huan took Gu Shengyin to tour around the nearby areas of the estate.
By the time the sun set and they returned, Jiang Huan was almost ready to take this new friend by the hand and become sworn brothers with him.
In this world, how could there be someone who fitted him so perfectly? Whatever the topic, he found he could always be on the same page as the other person.
Of course, this was in part due to Gu Shengyin’s deliberate efforts, but undeniably, she and Jiang Huan were enjoying each other’s company very much.
The courtyard was already set with hot steaming dishes and many years’ worth of aged wine.
Jiang Huan dismissed the servants and took Gu Shengyin’s hand, “Come Yunzhen, today, we shall drink until we can no longer stand!”
