Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Does Princess Qi Treat My Young Miss This Way?
Evil Valley, Liu Wensheng had received the letter from the capital city only after ten days.
It was just noon when Qinrui delivered the medicine on time.
Liu Wensheng took it without changing his expression.
After so many days, he had grown capable of drinking the medicine like nothing was wrong.
After taking the medicine, a maid in white entered and presented a sealed letter, "Master, this is from the capital city."
Liu Wensheng’s eyes slightly hardened as he took the letter and waved his hand at the two, "Leave."
"Yes." Qinrui and the maid in white both left and closed the door behind them.
Liu Wensheng opened the sealed letter, glanced through it, and his eyes grew cold.
After reading it, he let out a cold laugh.
The Empress really played a good game.
He crushed the letter into powder using his Inner Strength, closed his eyes and then shouted towards the other end of the room, "Come out!"
Shortly after, a man dressed in black emerged from behind a screen.
His face was half covered by a silver mask, and his eyes intently fixed on Liu Wensheng, his voice hoarse, "Little Liuliu, I didn’t mean to, don’t be angry."
Liu Wensheng opened his eyes and stared directly at Feng Yue, and after a long moment, said indifferently, "Didn’t I tell you to leave?"
Hearing this, Feng Yue appeared somewhat urgent, quickly walked forward, sat down beside Liu Wensheng, and murmured, "I told you, I’m not leaving."
Liu Wensheng did not speak, too lazy to look at him, and simply got up and walked out the door.
Feng Yue sighed softly and silently followed him.
Walking to a place lush with flowers and willows, Liu Wensheng pointed at the large pagoda tree and scoffed, "What? Do you still want to taste what my dungeon feels like?"
Feng Yue pressed his lips together, unable to say anything else, just repeating the same line, "I’m not leaving."
Liu Wensheng was frustrated for a while, then coughed several times.
Feng Yue’s expression changed immediately, he quickly stepped forward and gently patted his back, looking anxiously at him, "Little Liuliu, are you alright?"
After a long moment, finally calming down, Liu Wensheng pushed him away and said coldly with an indifferent look in his eyes, "You avoided me for ten years, and now you’re not happy when I let you go?"
Having healed the injuries on that man, Liu Wensheng believed he owed him nothing and thus had Qinrui send him away.
However, Feng Yue refused to leave.
"I wasn’t avoiding you," Feng Yue explained feebly.
Liu Wensheng stared intently at him, as if trying to see into his heart, and asked word by word, "Then where have you been these ten years?"
Feng Yue’s lips moved, and for a moment, he almost spoke the truth.
But he couldn’t.
Thus, he remained silent.
After a long while, seeing that he was still silent, Liu Wensheng lost his patience and said sarcastically, "Please do as you wish, Master Feng. I no longer care to accompany you."
Saying this, he left with a flick of his sleeve.
Feng Yue watched the retreating white figure with a deep and pained expression, a mix of anguish and struggle flashing through his eyes.
Three days later, Liu Wensheng summoned everyone in Evil Valley and gave some orders.
As Qinrui listened, something felt off. After he finished, she asked, "Master, are you leaving?"
Otherwise, why would every word and sentence he spoke concern what these people should do and how they should act in his absence from Evil Valley?
Liu Wensheng simply stated, "I need to leave for a while."
"When will you return, Master?" Qinrui knew that nothing could change his mind once decided.
"At least half a year, at most a year," Liu Wensheng did not hide.
Qinrui and the others all looked surprised.
The master usually did not like to leave the valley and would only go out occasionally for ten days to half a month.
Why would he be gone for so long this time?
But Liu Wensheng did not want to elaborate further and waved them away dismissively.
Everyone in Evil Valley was fiercely loyal to him, so he was not worried about any chaos happening in his absence.
But the matters that needed to be addressed still had to be spoken aloud.
Qinrui was the last to leave. Just before she left, she still couldn’t help but ask with concern, "Master, are you going to find the Princess?"
Liu Wensheng glanced at her. Although he didn’t respond, he also didn’t deny it.
Qinrui understood then. She bowed deeply and whispered, "Master, please be very careful. The situation in the capital city is dangerous. If you cannot escape in time, please let us know. Your servant will not hesitate to die a thousand times over."
By the end, her tone was somewhat choked, but she remained resolute.
Liu Wensheng sighed softly. "Why must you? If I am no longer here, you should just stay in the valley and live your lives."
"Master!" Qinrui quickly interrupted him, her eyes already reddening, and said with a hint of grievance, "Without Master, we sisters would have long since perished. If Master is in trouble, we are bound to fight desperately. Do these words not crush us, making us appear as those ungrateful wretches?"
Liu Wensheng smiled and said to her, "It was just a joke. The situation in the capital city is indeed perilous, but what can those people do to me?"
Only then did Qinrui hold back her tears, yet she still admonished with some worry, "If there’s anything, Master must send a message back. You mustn’t bear it alone."
Liu Wensheng agreed, and only then did she leave.
The next day, at dawn, Liu Wensheng, taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, changed into a Human Skin Mask and a set of coarse clothes, and left the Evil Valley.
When he reached the entrance, someone was already waiting there.
Liu Wensheng paused in his steps and looked at the dark figure, frowning, "What are you doing here?"
The night grew deeper, and a cool breeze blew gently. Did this person really think his body was that strong?
Feng Yue held his sword, his gaze fixed on him, and said in a muffled tone, "I’m coming with you."
"There’s no need." Liu Wensheng refused him without a second thought.
Feng Yue just stayed silent.
His legs were on his body, and he could go wherever he wanted.
Liu Wensheng couldn’t be bothered with him; if he wanted to follow, let him.
He already had someone prepare a boat on the river. The two of them got on the boat, the fisherman pushed off with his oar, and the boat gently started moving forward, breaking the calm water surface.
As they settled down in the cabin, Liu Wensheng closed his eyes to meditate.
After a while, he started to hear rustling noises near him.
He frowned slightly, opened his eyes, and glared unhappily at Feng Yue.
But he saw Feng Yue dig out a flatbread and offered it to him, "Little Liuliu, have something to eat."
The flatbread was still warm, probably made first thing in the morning in the kitchen by him.
Liu Wensheng took it, tore off a small piece, and handed the rest back to him.
The two of them ate silently.
After finishing, Liu Wensheng turned to continue his meditation.
But Feng Yue moved closer to sit beside him. After hesitating for what seemed like ages, he finally said sheepishly, "Little Liuliu, can you not go?"
The capital city was really too dangerous, and he didn’t want Liu Wensheng to take such a risk.
Liu Wensheng glanced at him sharply and said nothing, but his meaning was clear.
Feng Yue didn’t bring it up anymore. He just sat quietly by the side, watching Liu Wensheng’s lean back.
They drifted on the river for a few days before finally reaching the shore and headed towards the capital city along the main road.
While the two were hurrying day and night toward the capital city, Qi Yu was busy with various engagements.
That day was just the Empress’s birthday, and she was ready to go early in the morning.
The carriage stopped at the entrance of the Imperial Palace, where she was helped down by Shi Zhou, disguised as a Maid.
Looking at the grand palace, Shi Zhou felt nothing beautiful about it.
She only thought that if she had to stay here for a lifetime, she might as well be dead.
Qi Yu also nodded, "The Imperial Palace is indeed no good place."
At that moment, another carriage stopped beside them, and a girl in purple attire stepped out gracefully.
SSeeing Qi Yu, she bowed slightly, "Princess."
Qi Yu did not know who she was, but merely nodded slightly.
Yet, the Maid beside the girl in purple frowned slightly and said to her, "Does the Princess show such slight to my mistress?"
