Chapter 230: What exactly did you say to her?
Chapter 230: Chapter 230: What exactly did you say to her?
Mo Qingshan swiftly rose to his feet, jumped off the rooftop, and headed toward the back courtyard.
But in front of Shi Fuyou’s room, he only saw Shi Zhou and Shen Xiheng, puzzled he said, "Where has Qi Yu gone?"
Shi Zhou pointed in another direction, "She should have gone back to her room."
Mo Qingshan didn’t waste words and walked away briskly.
He had just arrived in front of the courtyard where Qi Yu stayed when he noticed the door was wide open. He frowned and quickly stepped forward, surveying the area outside the door, only to find the room empty.
His expression changed slightly, and he called into the room, "Girl."
There was no response.
Mo Qingshan’s eyelid twitched, and his usually nonchalant expression was now gone, replaced by a grim face that was almost frightening.
Just then, Li Mingjue also returned with his men.
They had searched the whole back mountain and found no trace of the man in white or Song Ting.
Fearing a trap, they could only return to the village first.
Upon reaching the courtyard and seeing Mo Qingshan standing outside with a solemn expression, Li Mingjue’s heart sank, "Has something happened?"
Mo Qingshan sighed and looked at him with a somewhat sorrowful gaze, "Disciple, you... don’t rush."
Li Mingjue didn’t understand what he was talking about, but soon, he sensed something was amiss.
His pupils shrank, and he hurried into the room, searching all around, yet he did not see Qi Yu.
Mo Qingshan watched his stiff back and said gravely, "I suddenly remembered the identity of the man in white and came to tell Qi Yu, but when I arrived, she was gone."
Li Mingjue’s figure trembled, completely missing his words.
His mind was filled with a buzzing noise.
In one day, he had lost two people who were very important to him.
Mo Qingshan could understand his feelings, but now was not the time for grief.
He stepped forward and patted his disciple’s shoulder, comforting him, "That girl is always clever; she must be fine."
Li Mingjue was silent for a while, then turned around, his eyes calmly gazing at him, "Master, did you say you already know that man’s identity?"
Mo Qingshan stroked his beard, his eyes complex as he slowly said, "That man in white is none other than the master of Evil Valley in Jiangnan, Liu Wensheng."
Hearing this name caused Li Mingjue’s expression to change slightly.
He was not very familiar with the affairs of Jianghu, but he had heard of this man.
Rumors had it that in Jiangnan there was an Evil Valley, where lived an ugly-faced but highly skilled martial arts master.
This man was capricious and though he did not commit heinous acts like burning, killing and looting like bandits, he still did plenty of evil deeds.
No one who entered Evil Valley had ever come out alive.
Mo Qingshan, in his early years, had dealings with this man and knew he was a true villain.
He had once witnessed how this man in white gouged out someone’s eyes and carved out his heart.
Just because that person had seen his true face.
That face, hidden beneath a Human Skin Mask, was hideously ugly.
If she really had to face this man, Qi Yu was more likely doomed than safe.
But for some reason, Mo Qingshan was not worried at all.
He vaguely felt that Liu Wensheng might not be a match for that girl either.
Li Mingjue, however, could not rest easy. He was worried not only for the safety of Qi Yu and Song Ting but also about that man’s true intentions.
Liu Wensheng, feared throughout Jianghu yet enigmatic, why would he suddenly target Tuyun Village?
This matter, perhaps only one person could know.
Li Mingjue turned and quickly left the courtyard.
Mo Qingshan watched his back, silently shaking his head.
I don’t know what secret Shi Fuyou, that old man, is hiding, but it managed to draw Liu Wensheng, that psychopath.
Shi Zhou and Shen Xihe watched as Li Mingjue approached with a frosty expression. They exchanged glances, stood up, and asked, "Has something happened?"
Li Mingjue glanced at them but did not speak.
He pushed the door open, walked to Shi Fuyou’s bed, and said solemnly, "How much longer does the village chief plan to sit and watch?"
Shi Zhou had just found out that Shi Fuyou was not really unconscious, so he was not very surprised by his actions.
She held her sword, her lips pressed into a tight line, feeling indescribable emotions.
Shen Xihe, however, furrowed his brow. Since Li Mingjue could tell that the village chief was feigning illness, why expose him at this moment?
Could something have happened?
His heart unsettled, he silently stood aside.
After a while, the person who had been unconscious in bed for several days slowly opened his eyes.
Shi Fuyou sat up and called out to the person with the cold expression, "Prince."
Li Mingjue was not in the mood for pleasantries, his tone cold as a knife, "The Princess is missing. Does the village chief have anything to explain?"
"What? The Princess is missing?" Shi Zhou exclaimed in shock.
Shen Xihe’s frown deepened, his expression turning grave.
Shi Fuyou, apparently having anticipated this event, didn’t seem surprised.
Facing Li Mingjue’s interrogation, he merely said calmly, "She will come back."
Li Mingjue’s gaze was icy as he stared at him with an intimidating air, teeth clenched, as he asked word by word, "What exactly did you tell her?"
Meanwhile, when Qi Yu woke up, it was already noon the next day.
She rubbed her sore neck, silently lamenting to herself, being knocked unconscious truly felt terrible.
Upon regaining consciousness, she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings and slightly raised her eyebrows.
Was this the abductor’s hideout?
It seemed quite decent.
Her current location looked like a young lady’s boudoir, with a faint scent of osmanthus coming from the incense burner.
Just then, the door was pushed open from outside, and a pretty young girl in a pink dress entered.
"Princess," the gentle voice of the young girl sounded, and Qi Yu blinked in surprise as the girl then turned and called out to the outside, "Come in."
Then, several girls in blue dresses entered, all charming and pretty.
Carrying various dishes and pastries, they left Qi Yu staring blankly.
In her daze, the girl in the pink dress had already approached, helping her to stand up.
She gestured, and soon someone came forward with a basin of warm water.
Qi Yu washed her face with the warm water.
She sat at the table in a daze, eating the delicious pastries as if they were tasteless wax.
Was she in a dream?
After the meal, she was escorted by the group of girls to a place that looked like a palace.
"Princess, go inside; my master is waiting for you."
Qi Yu walked inside in a daze, following the girl’s direction, and before entering, she heard a loud crying.
She immediately snapped to alertness, her brow furrowing, wondering why the dream felt so real, when she heard the voice inside shouting, "You villain, release this young master at once!"
It was a childish voice, somewhat familiar-sounding.
Suddenly, another lazy voice came through, tinged with amusement, "Keep crying, the louder, the better."
Qi Yu’s mouth twitched.
This psychopath!
