Chapter 206: Chapter 206: She Has Already Found the Secret of Lin Residence
After Madam Lin left, only two maids remained in the room. Lin Wenxuan sent them out and said to Qi Yu, who was sitting and drinking tea, "Divine Doctor, I think I’m feeling some pain."
Qi Yu glanced at him indifferently and raised her eyebrow, "Where does it hurt?"
Seeing her seemingly pleasant expression, Lin Wenxuan swallowed and, pointing at his chest with an ambiguous tone, said, "It hurts here; perhaps the Divine Doctor could take a look?"
Qi Yu nearly rolled her eyes to heaven—did Lin Wenxuan think her a fool?
Such a small trick and still daring to embarrass himself, Qi Yu snorted coldly inside. Today, she was not in a good mood, so she decided to take it out on Lin Wenxuan.
She put down her teacup, walked over, and sat beside his bed. Looking at Lin Wenxuan, who was clutching his chest and frowning, she slowly hooked her lips and said, "If it hurts, a couple of needles will fix it."
When Lin Wenxuan heard the word "needle," his expression changed, the unbearable pain returning.
He quickly waved his hands and frantically refused, "It’s not that painful, no need for needles."
He should have known better than to invite trouble—now he was in for another round of needling.
Qi Yu raised her eyebrows, took out a silver needle, and shook it in front of him, "That’s not for you to decide."
Lin Wenxuan screamed in terror, shrinking back as far as he could, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
Seeing him like this, Qi Yu couldn’t help but laugh out loud, dissipating some of her gloom.
She did enjoy teasing such cowardly scum.
Initially, Lin Wenxuan was fearfully curled up under the blanket, but hearing the faint laughing, he timidly peeped his head out again.
His eyes darted around uneasily, and after clearing his throat, he daringly asked, "What is the Divine Doctor laughing at?"
Qi Yu, leaning on one hand and still holding the silver needle in the other, casually waved it through the air and said nonchalantly, "I’m laughing at how incredibly small your courage is, Master Lin."
Lin Wenxuan could no longer bear it and immediately retorted, "My courage is great indeed!"
Qi Yu gave him a skeptical look, clearly thinking he was bluffing.
Heat rising in his cheeks, Lin Wenxuan blurted out, "If you’re capable, then use that silver needle on me; I will not dodge!"
Inside, Qi Yu was already thrilled but her face still feigned concern as she hesitated, "Are you serious?"
"This young master never goes back on his word!" Lin Wenxuan thumped his chest in assurance.
By now, he had forgotten how the silver needle had once caused him so much pain that he rolled around begging for mercy, screaming "Divine Doctor, spare me" dozens of times.
Seeing that he was hooked, Qi Yu beckoned him closer with a gesture, and Lin Wenxuan moved toward her as if under a spell.
The closer he got, the more her flawless face loomed before him, enthralling him.
When the distance was no more than a palm’s width, seeing her suddenly smile, Lin Wenxuan gazed adoringly, utterly oblivious to the ordeal he was about to undergo.
Containing her disgust, Qi Yu swiftly drove the silver needle into his palm, eliciting a painful shriek from him: "Ah—"
The scream alarmed Madam Lin, who hurried over. Seeing her son sweating from pain, she anxiously stepped forward to inquire, "Wenxuan, what’s happened?"
Lin Wenxuan was in too much pain to speak and could only glare furiously at Qi Yu.
Madam Lin quickly turned to the Divine Doctor, only to hear her slowly begin, "Madam need not worry; I’m merely administering acupuncture to the young master. His body is too weak to bear it for now, but he will be better soon."
Madam Lin nodded with lingering fear, wanting to ask if they could skip the acupuncture, but Qi Yu seemed to anticipate her thoughts and spoke first, blocking her words.
"If we skip the acupuncture, the toxins in your son’s body won’t clear, and he will have no other choice but death eventually."
This left Madam Lin unable to utter a word.
Both in pain and anger, Lin Wenxuan managed to squeeze out a few words through clenched teeth: "You, are, lying!"
Qi Yu just shrugged, indicating it was up to him to believe it or not.
However, Madam Lin slapped him lightly, "Wenxuan, you must not be so disrespectful to the Divine Doctor!"
After witnessing Qi Yu’s abilities, she wished she could worship her like a deity, fearing that one day Qi Yu might be displeased and refuse to treat Lin Wenxuan.
Lin Wenxuan was infuriated. How could this person be such a liar?
It was clear that she had intentionally schemed to prick him, yet she described it as acupuncture.
How dare she blatantly spout such nonsense to deceive his mother. This despicable charlatan would one day be exposed by him!
Qi Yu ignored his resentful expression and, seeing him nearly bursting with anger, leisurely returned to her courtyard.
Lin Wenxuan was still ranting about skinning her when his mother, in a flurry, covered his mouth with a handkerchief, "Xuan’er, hold your tongue!"
After speaking, she even turned to check, afraid that the Divine Doctor might have heard these utterly rebellious words.
Lin Wenxuan was choked with anger, yet he could do nothing. His body was too weak; he could only grind his teeth as he lay huffing on the bed.
The Maid following Qi Yu was still Chunxiao, who had been scared half to death by her before. Ever since being pricked once, every time she saw Qi Yu’s graceful face, her heart would tremble fiercely.
Upon entering the courtyard, Chunxiao instinctively served her tea, trembling as she said, "Divine Doctor, please enjoy."
Qi Yu took it, sip once, and set it down.
She glanced at the Maid whose head seemed like it wanted to sink into the ground and smiled, "Are you that afraid of me?"
Chunxiao swallowed hard, "This servant dares not."
Qi Yu propped her fan under Chunxiao’s chin, forcing her to lift her head up.
Chunxiao looked at her in panic, her large round eyes trembling uncontrollably.
Qi Yu put away her fan, with an underlying tone remarked, "Your eyes are quite lovely."
Chunxiao, terrified, clattered to the floor, repeatedly pleading, "Please, Divine Doctor, spare your servant!"
Qi Yu slightly raised her eyebrows, "When did I say I was going to do anything to you? I merely complimented you."
Chunxiao dared not make a sound.
Although it was a compliment, the tone clearly implied she wanted to gouge out her eyes.
Seeing she had frightened her enough, Qi Yu spoke more seriously, "Get up, I’m not accustomed to people kneeling while talking to me."
Chunxiao could only silently get up, keeping her head down she asked, "May I know if the Divine Doctor needs anything?"
She was a clever Maid, aware that the Divine Doctor wouldn’t have kept her around without reason.
Qi Yu was very pleased with her compliance and offered her a reassurance, "Rest assured, I am here only to find what I am looking for. I won’t do anything to you."
Chunxiao slightly relaxed, timidly raised her head and softly asked, "May I know... what is it that the Divine Doctor is looking for?"
When Qi Yu turned to look at her, she quickly lowered her head, her voice trembling as she finished speaking, "This servant will do her utmost."
Qi Yu neither confirmed nor denied, instructed her to close the door, and pointed to a stool across from her to sit down.
At first, Chunxiao wanted to decline, but after a faint glance from Qi Yu, she promptly obeyed.
Once seated, she surprisingly found that this fair-faced Divine Doctor wasn’t as terrifying as she seemed.
She stealthily looked up again, finding the Divine Doctor’s face even more beautiful than Ruoyu’s.
"Ruoyu?" Qi Yu’s eyes twinkled playfully as she looked at her.
It was then Chunxiao realized she had inadvertently spoken her thoughts aloud.
Embarrassed, she lowered her head and timidly said, "Ruoyu is the master’s personal Maid, who has been in the Lin Residence for over a decade. Last month, it was said she fell ill, and Madam provided her with some money to return home."
Although this statement seemed innocuous, Qi Yu still sharply detected something amiss within it.
She curled her lips slightly. It seemed she had already uncovered the Lin Residence’s secret.
