Chapter 181: Chapter 181 I Will Not Kill You
Hearing this answer, Qi Yu’s expression blanked for a moment.
Shi Zhou did not understand and asked, "What is ’sleeping amongst flowers and willows’?"
Gu Jingping’s face turned red as he fumbled for words, "It’s just... it’s just a place for seeking pleasures and amusement."
He really couldn’t say those two words.
Shi Zhou calmly nodded, "Oh."
Qi Yu sized up the brightly lit Manchun Building and said to the two, "Let’s go inside and have a look."
Shi Zhou had no objections and followed, sword in hand.
Seeing that the two of them were seriously heading into the Manchun Building, Gu Jingping began to sweat in his urgency, "You really want to go in?"
Qi Yu looked back at him, her expression serious, "The assassin may very well be hiding inside."
"But... it’s not really appropriate," Gu Jingping continued to persuade.
He had never even entered such a place himself.
Moreover, he had heard at the academy that the place was filled with skimpily clad women, creating an extremely sensual scene.
Just thinking about it made him start to feel embarrassed.
But Qi Yu and Shi Zhou were much braver than he was, both dressed as men this night, with delicate and refined looks, appearing like two pampered young masters.
Gu Jingping was worried to death, with no choice but to follow with a pained expression on his face.
If the Prince were to find out later, he would certainly be in big trouble.
"My lords, please come inside!" As soon as they reached the entrance of Manchun Building, a softly-spoken woman dressed in a light gauze came forward to greet them.
Her tone was so soft and seductive that just listening to her could make one’s shoulder collapse.
But Qi Yu only felt her scalp tingle, while Shi Zhou knitted her brows.
Gu Jingping, being a true man, had no thoughts to spare on whether he was being charmed or not, looking around like a thief, worried that an assassin might leap out from somewhere.
Qi Yu, with her delicate and clean appearance, was most popular. As soon as she entered, she was surrounded by a host of thinly dressed women, all eyeing her with ambiguous gazes.
It made her skin crawl.
Using her fan subtly, she kept a distance from these women, barely squeezing out a path for herself, not letting the scent of powder drown her.
Shi Zhou, with her colder appearance, seemed particularly unapproachable when not smiling, hence fewer people clung to her than to Qi Yu.
Gu Jingping, caught between the two, seemed somewhat less conspicuous; for a moment, he received no attention.
He thought with a bitter smile that this might be a blessing in disguise.
Qi Yu reached the center, pulled out a shiny piece of gold from her embrace, and slapped it onto the table.
Even the typically greedy madam was startled into action, hurriedly abandoning her current customer and sashaying over with a smile plastered on her face, "What is this for, my lord?"
Her eyes, greedy, fixated on the weighty piece of gold, as if she wished to devour the gold whole.
Qi Yu smiled, "I’m new here and unfamiliar with the rules, this is for you."
The madam’s eyes lit up, narrowing into slits, gleaming with shrewd light, "Where is our guest from, coming to Manchun Building ensures you will have a delightful time."
With that, she reached for the gold piece, quickly concealing it in her bosom and cheerfully beckoned upstairs, "Cai Yun, come down and take care of the gentleman."
Qi Yu followed her gaze upward and saw a woman slowly descending the stairs, dressed in a pink gauze dress, with stunning beauty and a delicate demeanor.
A dot of vermilion between her eyebrows made her look even more dazzling, her eyes moist as she glided over.
As soon as she appeared, she attracted countless gazes, even Gu Jingping was somewhat stunned by her presence.
Qi Yu merely glanced at her and then withdrew her gaze, waiting indifferently for her to approach.
She just wanted to ask someone about the situation, it didn’t matter who it was.
When Cai Yun reached her, she lowered her head and softly said, "Young master, please follow me."
Qi Yu followed her upstairs. At the door, Cai Yun glanced at the two people following behind her with a troubled expression, "Young master, are they... going to come in too?"
The question sounded awkward no matter how one heard it; those who didn’t know better might think they were about to engage in some indecent activity.
Qi Yu coughed and turned to give an order, "You two, wait for me outside."
Shi Zhou frowned, his gaze frosty as he looked at Cai Yun. Qi Yu understood and smiled, "Don’t worry, I have my ways."
The two could only watch her enter the room alone, and before the door even closed tightly, a fragrance wafted out from inside.
Gu Jingping wiped his sweat, "Today has really been an eye-opener."
Shi Zhou glanced at him, standing guard outside the door with his sword, like a door god.
Fortunately, Manchun Building housed all sorts of characters, so she didn’t look too out of place.
Inside the room, Cai Yun lit a stick of incense and shed her robe, her expression
Qi Yu watched her actions indifferently, but when the person leaned over her, she lightly tapped her chin with a fan, forcing her to lift her head, her tone somewhat cold, "Who are you?"
Cai Yun’s eyes trembled slightly, her voice a bit flustered, "My name is Cai Yun, doesn’t young master already know?"
Qi Yu smiled, her eyes startlingly bright, as if she could see right through the thick layer of powder on her face, "I know you are Cai Yun, but who were you before you came here?"
Cai Yun’s eyelashes fluttered, her expression somewhat aggrieved.
After a long pause, leaning against the cold bed frame, she slowly began, "Why ask so much, my lord? Does it still matter who I am after coming to this place?"
No sooner had she spoken than her gaze turned cold. She pulled out a golden hairpin from her head, intent on stabbing it towards Qi Yu.
Qi Yu used her fan to block it and quickly subdued her, brandishing a silver needle and piercing one of her acupuncture points.
"Ah—"
Cai Yun’s hands went numb, losing their strength, and the golden hairpin was snatched away. She fell to the ground awkwardly, making a muffled sound.
Qi Yu sneered, her gaze mocking as she looked at her, "Miss Cai Yun, what are you attempting?"
Cai Yun’s pretty face twisted as she clenched her teeth, telling the young master who looked even more beautiful than her by a fraction, "Kill or torture me as you wish."
Her eyes devoid of life, she looked like a cold puppet, her clothes disheveled as she sat there, rather pitiable.
Qi Yu clicked her tongue lightly, releasing her hand, her tone indifferent, "I won’t kill you."
Cai Yun looked up incredulously, staring blankly at her, "Why?"
Qi Yu unfolded her fan, extinguishing the newly lit aphrodisiac and cracked open the sealed window a fraction to let the scent dissipate.
Cai Yun watched her actions with a dazed expression.
So she had been found out all along.
Qi Yu turned back, looking down at her and extending a hand, her voice gently saying, "Get up first."
Cai Yun couldn’t believe someone would be so gentle with her; whenever she injured a client, she always ended up beaten.
Qi Yu helped her up, allowing her to sit at the edge of the bed, her features clear and elegant, as she smiled, "Can we talk now?"
