Chapter 115: Chapter 115 Are You Jealous?
Although Liao Fan did not know the extent of her medical skills, he inexplicably felt at ease.
He clasped his hands together and nodded slightly, "The little monk thanks the Princess."
It was Qi Yu’s first time in this world to see so many living monks, and unexpectedly receiving another bow, she felt somewhat embarrassed.
She waved her hand and said to the group standing there, "You all go out first, I need to administer acupuncture to him."
The monks looked at her hesitantly, and Liao Fan explained, "The Princess is highly skilled in medicine, with her here, she will definitely be able to cure the little monk."
Having been in the monastery for more than a decade with some fame, most people’s suspicions were dispelled upon hearing this, and they were ready to leave.
But some were not willing, looking at Qi Yu with a guarded expression filled with distrust, "Brother, I’m afraid you’ve been deceived, how could a Princess know medical techniques?"
Seeing the monk staying by the bed and refusing to let her approach, Qi Yu scoffed lightly, "If you delay any further, he might be beyond saving."
Upon hearing this, Liao Fan’s face tensed as he shouted, "Get out!"
The monk then left reluctantly.
Liao Fan led a group of brothers out of the room, but Li Mingjue looked at her with an indecipherable expression.
Qi Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, "What is it?"
Why did this person look at her with an inexplicable expression?
Li Mingjue’s gaze fell directly on the silver needles in her hand, and something seemed to cross his mind, his expression darkening, "Are you going to strip him like you did to me before?"
Just like when she had administered acupuncture to him in the past.
Qi Yu nodded, looking inexplicably at him, "Yes, how else am I supposed to administer the needles?"
After she lightly finished speaking and saw his face darkening, she realized something.
"You’re not getting jealous, are you?"
Li Mingjue did not speak, but he did not move either, just standing there, watching her quietly.
Qi Yu held her forehead and spoke in a helpless tone, "Prince, can we be reasonable here? He’s just a patient, and a little monk at that. I surely wouldn’t harbor any thoughts towards a child!"
Li Mingjue glanced again at the pale face on the bed and grudgingly accepted her reasoning.
But then thinking of something else, he said displeasingly, "It’s the same with others."
Qi Yu went along with his words and coaxed, "Alright, alright, whatever you say."
Saying this, she pushed him out the door and then decisively closed it.
If they continued to argue, dawn would break, and she still had a person to save.
After sending away this dark-faced deity, Qi Yu lowered her head and began to focus on administering acupuncture to the poisoned young boy.
Upon examining the symptoms, she knew the poison in his body was not lethal, but it would make someone foolish.
It was somewhat like the poison the Wang Family and Qi Anran had used on the original host before.
Though confident, Qi Yu still dared not take it lightly, considering this was still a child. If anything went wrong, her culpability would be enormous.
Outside the door, the group of monks continued to argue incessantly.
"Liao Fan, you said that person is the Princess Qiu, so how does she know medicine?"
"Exactly, which of those high officials and nobles knows anything about medicine? Brother, you must have been deceived, right?"
"The younger brother is struck with a rare poison, how can we rashly entrust him to someone who evidently knows nothing of medicine?"
"I must go in and see for myself!"
"..."
Liao Fan had initially just listened silently to these doubts. He believed in Qi Yu, but there were always those who did not.
He thought, just wait a while longer for the younger brother to wake up, then these rumors will collapse on their own.
But he hadn’t expected that the more these people caused a scene, the more justified they felt, and he could only retort coldly, "We couldn’t bring in the best doctors from the capital city even if we wanted to. It’s the Princess who is kind-hearted, not minding the long journey to come and treat him. The person isn’t even out yet, how do you know for sure she can’t save the young monk?"
The crowd, scolded, all wore somewhat ugly expressions on their faces.
Some, defiant of authority, didn’t take his words to heart and wanted to break down the door directly.
Li Mingjue, who had been standing at the door all along, blocked them.
"Do you all not take me, the Prince, seriously?"
They dared to rush the door right in front of him.
The people who were originally furious instantly deflated upon hearing Prince Qiu’s renowned name, knowing well they couldn’t afford to provoke him.
One by one, they shrank back like quails.
Liao Fan, feeling somewhat guilty and worried that Li Mingjue would actually trouble them, excused the few men, "Prince, your generosity is vast, please don’t hold it against these few fellow brothers of mine—they are just overly worried about the young little monk."
Li Mingjue glanced at him but said nothing.
Two hours later, Qi Yu finally removed all the silver needles and thoughtfully covered him with a blanket.
She put away the needles, yawned and was about to call out to the people outside.
Just then, she saw the little monk lying on the bed open his eyes, looking at her with bright eyes, his tone still soft, "Did you save me?"
Qi Yu, charmed by his cuteness, smiled and pinched his face, nodding, "Yes."
The little monk blinked and said word by word, "Thank you, sister."
"You’re welcome."
Qi Yu couldn’t help but pinch his cheeks a few more times before reluctantly letting go and telling the little monk, "I’ll go call your brother in."
The little monk nodded obediently, his gaze following her figure.
Qi Yu opened the door and let in the people who had been waiting outside for a long time.
Liao Fan, in a rush, thanked her and then went to see his little monk.
Li Mingjue, seeing her exhausted appearance, felt a pang in his heart and held her hand, gently rubbing it for a while.
Qi Yu, extremely sleepy, greeted Liao Fan and directly pulled Li Mingjue back to their quarters.
Once she lay down on the bed, Qi Yu mustered her strength and said to the person beside her, "Father Emperor must be aware of this by now, right? Doesn’t he always have the Prince Qiu Residence watched?"
Li Mingjue paused for a moment, his tone flat, "Don’t worry, I will go and speak with him personally."
Startled by his words, Qi Yu became quite alert, "What are you going to talk to him about?"
She couldn’t possibly be sold out, could she?
Li Mingjue glared at her, annoyed, "Of course, to ask Father Emperor to withdraw the spies he’s planted in the Prince Residence."
Even now, couldn’t she trust him a little?
Knowing she was at fault, Qi Yu turned over and said in a low voice, "Will he agree to that?"
Li Tianze had already become suspicious of her; he definitely wouldn’t let her off easily.
Thinking this, she sighed deeply, saying melancholically, "When can we ever live a few peaceful days?"
It had only been a few months, yet she felt as though she had aged several years.
Every day was spent either arguing with someone or struggling against another.
Li Mingjue, hearing her words, felt uneasy as well.
He knew she disliked such a life, but being part of the Royal Family, one couldn’t do as one wished.
Qi Yu was merely venting her frustrations and didn’t mean anything else by it.
Seeing he remained silent yet chuckled lightly, she was just about to offer some reassurance when suddenly the sounds of fighting came from outside the door.
