Chapter 877: Chapter 877 The Enemies Become More and More Formidable
The night was deep and silent when two members of the Devil Cult were digging a pit in a small grove outside of the villa, and then they buried the members of the Jin Yuedao family.
One of the Devil Cult members couldn’t help but say, "Good heavens, these people are really weak, they only lasted a short while after drinking a mouthful of blood."
Another one added, "These were supposed to be the skilled martial artists of Jin Yuedao family, with substantial power. I didn’t expect them to be unable to withstand it. It seems that becoming a member of the Xue Clan doesn’t solely depend on one’s strength."
"Every time we catch so many people, every time we have to toil and dig pits, we end up covered in dirt," the Devil Cult member complained, then felt a faint whoosh behind him, like a breeze blowing in, but it felt different.
A cold voice came over, "Are the people you buried from the Jin Yuedao family?"
"What?" The two Devil Cult members immediately turned around, and were terrified to see the expressionless Jian Shen standing there, as they both believed they were no match for him.
Jian Shen wasn’t interested in mincing words with them. He drew his sword swiftly like lightning, placing it against the neck of one of the Devil Cult disciples, and he said sternly, "Don’t make me repeat my question, answer me quickly."
Cold sweat ran down the foreheads of the two Devil Cult disciples, and they even felt their hands and feet shaking.
"Don’t be afraid, remember, we have become members of the Xue Clan, no matter how powerful Jian Shen’s sword is, it cannot kill us," one of the Devil Cult disciples said, only to see the disdainful expression of Jian Shen, "You say you can’t be killed, yet you only dare to act at night. You say you are not afraid of my sword, then how about this?"
Jian Shen drew three wooden stakes, causing a drastic change in the expressions of the two Devil Cult disciples.
Seeing the situation turn sour, one of the Devil Cult disciples took a gamble, relying on the speed of a vampire to pounce forward, attempting to snatch the wooden stakes from Jian Shen’s hand.
However, Jian Shen’s eyes flashed with a piercing sharpness. Even though the Devil Cult disciple had transformed into a vampire, he posed no danger to Jian Shen, who plunged the wooden stake directly into the vampire’s heart.
The foolish vampire of the Devil Cult collapsed onto the ground, his skin turning to ash gray.
"Speak, or the next one will be you," Jian Shen said, not merely making an empty threat. His piercing gaze and the fierce Jian Qi emitted a great pressure on the remaining Devil Cult disciple.
The Devil Cult disciple immediately gave a compliant answer, "They are people from Jin Yuedao family. We wanted to use them for experiments to transform them into the Xue Clan, but most of them were weak and didn’t survive."
Jian Shen nodded, satisfied with the response, "Good, next question. Is the head of the Jin Yuedao family still alive, and is the Devil Incarnate here?"
The Devil Cult disciple quickly replied, "The head of Jin Yuedao family is still alive; the Devil Incarnate has returned to the main temple."
"Alright, thank you." Jian Shen let out a sigh of relief; with the most difficult Devil Incarnate not around, he believed no one would be able to match him.
Jian Shen had the Devil Cult member lead the way, and if he found out they were deceiving him, he wouldn’t hesitate to drive a wooden stake through their heart.
The Devil Cult member was terrified and quickly warned, "Although the Devil Incarnate is not here, there are the Seven Monster – each one of them is not to be underestimated. If you encounter them, don’t blame me for not warning you."
"Okay, I understand," Jian Shen knew that these seven monsters must be strong, but it was better than encountering the Devil Incarnate.
Under the guidance of a Devil Cult disciple, Jian Shen arrived at the villa. As soon as he entered, he saw seven fierce-looking individuals sitting in the courtyard, their eyes radiating malevolent intent, and the aura they emitted was astounding.
Jian Shen knew these seven monsters were not easy to deal with, and with a push, he moved the Devil Cult disciple aside and said indifferently, "Today I’ll spare you, now go."
The Devil Cult disciple immediately bolted, not looking back.
"Are you Jian Shen?" The Seven Monsters used to be nobodies, crooks from the pseudo region, committing all kinds of evil deeds, hence the orthodox sects had hunted them, including Jian Shen, although he did not remember them at that time.
"Correct, I am Jian Shen. Where are the remaining members of the Jin Yuedao family?" Jian Shen coldly watched the seven, sensing their Qi growing ever more immense and malevolent.
If an ordinary person turned into a vampire, they could immediately match a Martial Arts master, so if a Martial Arts master turned into a vampire, it was highly likely they could contend with a peerless expert like Jian Shen—the Devil Incarnate was a prime example.
The Seven Monsters pointed to a house behind them and then laughed coldly, "They’re inside the house, but do you think you can save them? Let me remind you, you’re the one in danger now."
"Very well, let’s see about that," Jian Shen said with a slight, unconcerned smile. His Jian Qi burst forth, sharp and overwhelming, instantly suppressing the evil of the Seven Monsters.
The Seven Monsters’ faces shifted; they knew they were still outclassed by Jian Shen, but they did not expect the gap to be this large. Even banding together, they might not be able to defeat him.
Seeing the fear in the Seven Monsters, Jian Shen spoke harshly, "Step aside if you don’t want to die."
"Pah, it’s not yet certain who will fall today," the Seven Monsters, filled with rage, all attacked Jian Shen together.
Jian Shen snorted coldly, kicked off the ground with explosive speed, his sword even quicker, casting a chilling, spine-tingling sword force that pierced through the surroundings in the blink of an eye.
The Seven Monsters had become vampires, their speed incredibly fast, encircling Jian Shen with an array of weapons, even using their fists and martial skills to launch an assault.
One against seven, combatants exchanging blows rapidly, the courtyard was filled with darting figures and whistling sounds. The clashing sounds grew heavier with each hit, thunderous and frightening, and sparks flew from the colliding weapons. The surrounding walls and the stone slabs underfoot bore the brunt of the impact, some cleaved, some shattered, illustrating the intensity of the fight.
Suddenly, a scream cut through the air, followed by blood spraying, and an arm was sent flying.
In no time at all, another arm was severed, the ground and the walls bearing more and more bloodstains.
Following the scream was another scream, as one monster fell to the ground, clutching his wound, then struggling violently. He wanted to escape this terrifying battlefield; he didn’t want to die.
Jian Shen, while fiercely battling the other monsters, casually drove a wooden stake into the fallen monster’s heart, finishing him off completely.
One monster fell, then a second, the battle had shifted from evenly matched to a tilt, and eventually, all seven monsters had their limbs severed, unable to fight back, emitting nothing but frustrated roars.
