Chapter 833: Chapter 833 Turning Defeat into Victory
Walking in the dark woods, Gu Fan struggled to suppress his fear. To do this, he looked around while whistling, a performance that Su Hui hiding on the side deemed lousy.
"Hello, is anyone there? Can you blood-sucking lot hear my call?" After Gu Fan shouted a few times, the woods fell silent again, as if danger lurked all around.
Gu Fan steadied himself and then called out again, "Are you still alive? I’ve got fresh blood here. If you’re not full yet, feel free to come have a taste."
After waiting for a moment with no response, Gu Fan started to think that the others must have left or were simply not interested in him at all.
Suddenly, a bird dived down from the trees and darted past Gu Fan, startling him.
"That was close, that was close. Luckily it was just a bird." Gu Fan patted his chest, trying to calm himself, then he glanced in the direction the bird had flown, feeling eerily creeped out.
As if he sensed something, Gu Fan quickly turned around, and a cold face stood right in front of him.
Xue Hu looked at Gu Fan coldly, "Are you looking for me?"
In response, Gu Fan gave a dry laugh, "Right, I’m looking for you, vampire big brother."
Hearing this, Xue Hu was not pleased, "What vampire? We are the noble Xue Clan."
"Xue Clan, good, it sounds better than vampires. I like this title," Gu Fan gave his opinion, but seeing Xue Hu’s gloomy face, he was anything but amused.
The atmosphere was too tense, so Gu Fan quickly changed the topic, "Sorry, I’ve got something urgent to attend to back home. If you’re full and satisfied tonight and think you could do a good deed by letting us go, I’d be very grateful."
Xue Hu snorted, "Sorry, what I hate most is wasting."
"Coincidentally, I also hate waste. To think we found common ground so quickly, we’re really akin to friends meeting too late." Having said this, Gu Fan also grabbed Xue Hu’s hand and shook it, his enthusiasm leaving Xue Hu utterly baffled and unable to understand what Gu Fan was up to.
"Do you have anything else to say?" Xue Hu’s cold demeanor and words indicated he was about to take action.
Gu Fan gave a wry smile, "Okay, from your attitude, I can tell you’re not reasonable. I’ve got nothing to say then. You can bite me, but just a friendly reminder, I haven’t showered in days, so when you bite my neck, be sure not to lick indiscriminately to avoid getting sick." After finishing, Gu Fan even stretched out his neck willingly.
Seeing Gu Fan so cooperative made Xue Hu suspicious, feeling there was a scheme at play.
"So, are you going to suck my blood or not? If not, I’m leaving." Gu Fan wore a look of disdain, truly infuriating Xue Hu, "Kid, you think I’m afraid of you?"
"Here it comes!" Gu Fan tensed up, ready for what was next.
Xue Hu grabbed Gu Fan’s arms, then aimed for Gu Fan’s neck and opened his fanged mouth, his eyes turning completely black.
Almost at the same moment that Xue Hu bit Gu Fan’s neck, Gu Fan pressed the stun gun hidden in his sleeve, enduring the electric shock himself but also passing the current to Xue Hu, causing him to convulse uncontrollably.
The opportunity arose, and Su Hui, who was hiding to the side, immediately charged out. She kicked Xue Hu to the ground and, taking advantage of Xue Hu’s still-paralyzed state, she slashed a knife across his chest, opening up his heart.
However, Xue Hu was unharmed; his wound was healing. Meanwhile, his eyes filled with bitter hatred, as if saying, "Once I recover, I’ll bite off your neck first."
But who was Su Hui? How could she give Xue Hu a chance? While the wound near Xue Hu’s heart had yet to completely heal, she took out the previously sharpened piece of wood and stabbed it into the wound.
"What?" Xue Hu’s eyes widened in fear. At this moment, he could move a little but was still unable to stop her.
Once the wood pierced through Xue Hu’s heart, he quickly turned ashen and his body stiffened, and he also lost his breath. It seemed he was done for.
"Damn, that was close." Gu Fan rushed over and glanced at the now-killed Xue Hu. He touched the scar on his neck, as he had just felt a sensation like he was about to be torn apart.
Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Su Hui couldn’t calm her pounding heart. She had only tried it out to see, not expecting the wooden stake to actually be effective against Xue Hu.
Gu Fan took out his stun gun and sighed, "Just like Sister Su predicted, these guys were overconfident and took the bait."
"Exactly. The most important thing is that only one of them came. Although this forest isn’t large, finding someone in it isn’t that quick, so I guessed they would definitely split up to look for us. They trust their own strength too much, thinking there would be no issues acting alone," Su Hui said casually, but a shiver ran through her as this was only her speculation, aided by a bit of luck—the enemy had indeed acted as she predicted.
Had two enemies come at once, or if the enemy had directly knocked out Gu Fan with a punch, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Well, regardless, Gu Fan and Su Hui had taken down one of them, with two left to go—there was no lessening of the pressure.
Gu Fan suggested, "We should hurry and leave this place. Maybe we can use the same trick again?"
"Exactly, if the remaining two are as foolish and fall for it like that, then..." Gu Fan’s words suddenly stopped. He heard a rustling behind him, a brief gust of wind.
Seeing Su Hui’s nervousness, Gu Fan knew what was behind them. It was as if what they feared most had come true.
Steeling his nerve, Gu Fan turned to look, and his expression instantly changed. Xue Lang and Xue Ying were leisurely watching them from behind two separate trees.
"Not bad; you actually managed to kill Xue Hu. It seems someone was right; we shouldn’t underestimate you," Xue Lang said without any anger, nor in any hurry to avenge his comrade.
Xue Ying added, "Sorry, we just overheard your plan, so we won’t be as stupid as Xue Hu. Your trick won’t work a second time, which means we’re going to directly twist off your heads and then drink your blood."
To this, Gu Fan chuckled dryly, "Aren’t you part of the noble Xue Clan? Please, what age is this? Could you perhaps act a bit more civilized, to match your noble status?"
Hearing this, Xue Lang couldn’t help but laugh, "Good suggestion, but I don’t accept it. What can you do about it?"
Su Hui and Gu Fan didn’t respond, but they still instinctively took a step back.
