Chapter 820: Chapter 820 The Man with an Unknown Origin
Someone stood silently behind him, and Old Jia panicked. He immediately turned around and in a flash saw a glint of cold light, followed by a tearing pain that made him scream miserably.
The Jian Shen had arrived, and with his first move, he left a horrific wound on Old Jia, from which blood gushed out instantly.
However, the bleeding quickly stopped, and Old Jia did nothing; he just stood there, a cold smile curling the corners of his mouth. The wound on his body was healing, and he soon appeared as if nothing had happened.
"I know you, Tie Butou calls you Jian Shen, right? If I defeat you, wouldn’t I be the number one in Martial Arts?" Old Jia said excitedly, throwing a punch at the Jian Shen.
"Just with you!" Jian Shen said dismissively, simply and straightforwardly catching Old Jia’s fist with his palm, standing tall and unmovable, also telling Old Jia that he was surpassed in strength.
"How is this possible!" Old Jia couldn’t believe it and suddenly felt a strong force transmitting from the palm of the Jian Shen, directly assaulting his internal organs.
Old Jia spewed blood and was sent flying backward, finally understanding what it meant to be a Martial Arts master, what inner strength was—truly overwhelming.
Seeing Old Jia knocked down, everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the Jian Shen immediately helped Tie Butou up and inquired about his injuries.
Unexpectedly, Old Jia got up again, flexing his muscles and joints, looking unharmed as if the damage inflicted by the Jian Shen had no effect on him.
The Jian Shen frowned. He had never encountered such an opponent—lacking in strength but with astonishing resilience, seemingly impossible to defeat.
"Come on, whoever laughs last laughs best." Old Jia was not the least bit discouraged and charged at the Jian Shen again. He was fast, like a swift wind; however, as he approached the Jian Shen, he suddenly felt as though he was being pierced by a thousand arrows, his heart chilling.
The Jian Shen released his Jian Qi fully, ferociously sharp to an incredible extent, effortlessly penetrating Old Jia’s body, sending him flying, and then used his Jian Qi to pin Old Jia to the wall.
Witnessing the display of power from the Jian Shen was utterly shocking; the officers couldn’t believe anyone in the world could withstand such an attack.
Even so, Old Jia could still let out a cold laugh, with countless wounds on his body healing, and he even shattered the Jian Qi that pinned him to the wall, appearing effortlessly relaxed in front of the Jian Shen.
The Jian Shen frowned again, wondering how to deal with an opponent who seemed to be unkillable.
"The venerable Jian Shen, even you have times when you are at a loss." Lin Xi arrived with the wind, her arrival as graceful as that of an expert, her dress and hair fluttering beautifully, embodying an air of agility. Bathed in the moonlight, she appeared like a goddess descending to earth, dazzling everyone present.
Even Old Jia was stunned for a moment, then soon displayed an evil smile: "Good, a beauty for my enjoyment, I really should thank you."
"A dog’s mouth doesn’t spit out ivory," Lin Xi said, forming signs with her hands, and immediately cast a spell to immobilize Old Jia, rendering him unable to move.
At this, Old Jia panicked, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t break free, facing magic for the first time, he was utterly at a loss.
"What are you standing there for, tie him up quickly," Lin Xi commanded as if her order was not to be defied, and Tie Butou immediately led his men to bind Old Jia with iron chains, considering his immense strength, they used several more chains.
Finally, they had Old Jia firmly in their grasp, and everyone was curious about what exactly had happened to him.
Old Jia couldn’t resist any longer, his aura had deflated, and his dark eyes had reverted to their original state, he even dared not raise his head to meet the interrogative stares of the crowd.
"Spit it out," Tie Butou kicked Old Jia, "How did you become like this? Did you practice some kind of evil martial arts?"
"No use, I haven’t practiced any martial arts, and I didn’t want to become this way," Old Jia began to plead with a look of deep regret, "I didn’t mean to harm anyone, but I can’t help it, I need to drink blood."
Hearing this, Lin Xi furrowed her brow, Old Jia’s condition felt like that of a vampire from Western legend. But this was the East.
Old Jia began to narrate his experience. It turned out that a group of foreigners had once passed through this small town. Since they were not familiar with the terrain, they asked Old Jia to guide them and offered payment. And Old Jia agreed, seeing it as an opportunity to make some money.
What Old Jia couldn’t understand was that these foreigners wanted to travel at night and did not wish to attract attention.
Intuitively, Old Jia felt these foreigners harbored unspeakable secrets and it would be best to keep his distance, but the thought of money overcame his greed, and he agreed.
Late at night, as per their request, Old Jia led the group of foreigners out of the town and even pointed them in the right direction, which confused him even further.
Just as Old Jia was about to part ways with the foreigners, a box from their carriage accidentally tumbled down and opened, revealing several people lying inside?
Seeing this scene, Old Jia was so frightened that he ran away, but was still caught up by the foreigners. He couldn’t believe it—the previously gentle and polite foreigners suddenly changed, their eyes turned completely black, and they bared sharp fangs.
However, the foreigners didn’t kill Old Jia, instead, they made him drink their blood, apparently using him for some experiment.
And it wasn’t just Old Jia; they captured many people for their experiments, and everyone caught was fed their blood.
After some time, those who drank their blood suffered terribly. Some rolled on the ground, some rammed into trees, and some scratched themselves wildly. The agony they displayed was unimaginable, and eventually, they all died with blood flowing from all seven orifices.
Only Old Jia survived. He felt changes—strength, speed, hearing, and so on—except he also developed a craving for fresh blood, an uncontrollable desire to tear open others’ throats.
As for the foreigners, they were surprised to see Old Jia survive, but they didn’t linger on it and continued on their way. As for what would become of Old Jia, they left him to his own devices.
Before leaving, the foreigners did warn Old Jia not to be active in sunlight. At first, Old Jia didn’t understand, but later he realized why these foreigners could only move in the dark—the burning sensation of sunlight on his skin felt like he was about to burst into flames.
Old Jia had once asked the foreigners about their origin, but they didn’t elaborate, only mentioning an X, which even now, Old Jia didn’t comprehend what it stood for.
Hearing all this, everyone finally understood what had happened to Old Jia. Lin Xi felt even more uneasy; the more she heard, the more the foreigners resembled the vampires of rumors. It seemed likely they were responsible for the events in Qianye Country as well, but why had they come to the East? Were they searching for something?
