Chapter 645: Chapter 645: Kick on a Hard Iron Plate

Early in the morning, Leng Le was rudely awakened by the ring of his cell phone. He picked it up to see that it was a call from the big boss. Sensing something bad was happening, he quickly answered, "Hello, boss. What’s going on?"

The boss’s voice was somewhat agitated, "Leng Le, find out what Gu Fan is thinking. Their ship is about to leave the centre of the Triangle Sea Area. Do they plan on coming back?"

"What? I’ll go ask Gu Fan now." Leng Le quickly got out of bed, put on his clothes and raced to Gu Fan’s room, knocking forcefully on the door. "Get up, get up, lazy pig."

Gu Fan appeared, yawning, "What’s the matter? It’s early morning. Can’t a guy get some sleep?" After rubbing his eyes and figuring out it was a stern-faced Leng Le, Gu Fan asked intrigued, "What’s up? It feels like you’re here to accuse me of something."

"I wouldn’t dare accuse you since this is your territory. I just want to confirm something - we’re in a partnership, so please explain why your ship is about to leave the central part of the Triangle Sea Area? The big boss would like to know, and he does not appreciate being kept in the dark. I believe you wouldn’t want this partnership to break up over this, right?" Leng Le said firmly, without beating around the bush.

Gu Fan put on an astonished face, "Ah, are we leaving the central area of the Triangle Sea? I had no idea. I’ll go ask the captain right away."

Shortly after, Gu Fan found the captain whose explanation was that since Gu Fan hadn’t given any sailing direction, he made an executive decision to head towards the East Land. Unexpectedly, they were now nearing the edge of the Triangle Sea Area’s center. It was just a twist of fate.

"Oh yes, I haven’t given any direction yet, so we can’t blame you, captain." Gu Fan looked like he had a moment of realization, which clearly suggested he and the captain were in on this.

"Since that’s the case, what do you intend to do now, Gu Fan?" Leng Le knew it was deliberate on Gu Fan’s part, but he didn’t want to openly challenge him. Meanwhile, he was close to losing his temper inside.

Gu Fan immediately suggested: "Captain, please dock at the nearest island while I figure things out."

"Alright, no problem." The captain made a gesture and then went back to the wheelhouse.

Gu Fan turned back to Leng Le and added, "Please tell the boss not to worry. Everything is under control."

"Okay, no problem." Leng Le tried to maintain a polite front but those infuriating careless expressions on Gu Fan’s face were giving him hives. In his mind, he had strangled Gu Fan already.

Once Leng Le left, Gu Fan breathed a sigh of relief, thinking how close he had come to not reaching his destination.

The current position of Gu Fan’s cargo vessel was not far off from the one mentioned in the old notes. But according to captain’s observations, there was only one island nearby, not two as noted in the diary.

Once he had confirmed that, Gu Fan believed that the island must have emerged onto the water surface at a specific time and his father, Gu Chuanshan must have seen it by chance, unaware that that was the island he had been looking for.

Gu Fan began to mark the locations on the map. The first location was when the island was still submerged and the second was from the old notes. That would be two locations.

"This is insufficient!" Gu Fan, even though he felt he was getting closer, was still far from his goal. Marking just the two places was not enough to determine the movement pattern of the island.

Moreover, he was puzzled by why an island could move underwater and why it could still emerge above the water if it had sunk.

Suddenly, Gu Fan thought of the possibility that the island might be associated with the ancient Super Civilization. That seemed to explain everything, considering a floating island like Yuxueyun Mountain existed, so it was also possible for an underwater moving island to exist.

Just as Gu Fan was deep in thought, a message popped up in the communication group. It was from Gu Ling who had decoded another symbol, which looked like a demonic skull.

Gu Fan took a close look and thought it resembled the island underwater, secretly forming a hypothesis if Xiaoling had really deciphered it correctly.

The first symbol was a ship, the second looked like an island, and the third symbol might be the key.

Gu Fan started categorizing his thoughts. First, gather information to find the island’s location. Next, figure out how to sneak around without the boss discovering. Third, consider Qian Feng leading the Shennv Xuanhui. Where are they currently and what are they doing? Fourth, Gu Fan wondered why Qiao Ya and his group came to the Triangle Sea Area.

After pondering for a while without getting any conclusion, Gu Fan went outside for a breath of fresh air. Everyone else was outside as well, appreciating the azure sea. Su Hui and Gu Ling were feeding the seagulls. Everyone seemed relaxed.

Seeing Gu Fan, Lin Xi spoke up, "How’s it going? You look overwhelmed. If you can’t figure it out, get some rest. You might get an idea tomorrow."

"Fair enough, I’ll take your advice." Gu Fan smiled, but was abruptly interrupted by Ouyang Jin, "You guys, look! There’s another ship over there."

Everyone turned to see and there indeed was another ship. Perhaps it had been too long since they last saw another ship, they couldn’t help but take longer glances at it, though none gave it much thought.

Slowly, the group realized something was amiss. This ship was heading towards the centre of the Triangle Sea Area which was highly irregular. Most ships avoid this no-sail zone.

The ship was getting closer. It sailed past Gu Fan’s position and the smallest distance between them was not more than a hundred meters. The ship continued on its course to the centre of the Triangle Sea Area.

Everyone was baffled as to why the other ship was sailing in such an erratic manner, but Gu Fan proposed a possibility, "Do you all remember how we ended up in the Triangle Sea Area?"

"It’s because we encountered pirates. The pirates forced us..." Jie understood the implication halfway through his sentence.

The captain frowned, "What should we do? Should we help them?"

"These pirates are despicable. Gu Fan, let’s do this," Lin Xi was already on standby, waiting for Gu Fan’s command.

Gu Fan observed the foreign text on the ship’s hull, unsure which company it belonged to, but since it was within his radar, he decided to help. Usually, people keep out of others’ business due to fear of causing unnecessary trouble.

But Gu Fan and his crew had no such concerns. Firstly, they were already at odds with the pirates. Secondly, they despised pirates. Finally, fighting pirates didn’t seem troublesome to them.

"Great, who’s coming with me?" Lin Xi had already descended to another ship, a smaller vessel which they had taken from the pirates. The group hadn’t junked it, making it the perfect vessel for Lin Xi to venture towards the pirates.
