Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared -
Chapter 629: The Island Under the Sea
Chapter 629: Chapter 629: The Island Under the Sea
Gu Fan paced back and forth in the room, thinking hard, while Leng Le refused to fall behind: "If I were Lisa, since the ship is sailing on the vast sea, it wouldn’t matter if you were set free, since you wouldn’t know where you were."
Gu Fan nodded, "Exactly, we were locked in the room, either we are on our way back to the secret base, and they don’t want us to know the location of the base, or we are already in the base, and they don’t want us to know what’s inside."
"If we were locked up, it would most likely mean we are on our way back to the base. After being locked up for some time, it’s pretty clear that ship isn’t moving any more, which means we have already reached the base." Gu Fan also thought that Leng Le’s speculation was reasonable, but even if they guessed right, could they escape? And if they did manage to escape, could they get away?
This time, Gu Fan and Leng Le didn’t know how long they had been locked in the room, but it seemed to be close to three days. It seemed that Lisa and her crew were probably getting anxious having been unable to set sail for so long.
Actually, Gu Fan and Leng Le were even more anxious, as Lisa and her crew’s inability to set sail meant they hadn’t been able to replenish their food for a long time. Once Lisa and the others depleted everyone else, they’d have to reluctantly start consuming Gu Fan and Leng Le.
"Oh My God, is this place so hard to find?" Gu Fan checked the tracking device repeatedly and found it wasn’t broken. Why were there no signs of the Boss and Lin Xi even after waiting for so long?
He couldn’t help but suspect that there was a flaw in the plan from the very beginning, which meant he could not escape.
"I wanted to be the hero who saved the damsel in distress, but now I can’t even save myself." Gu Fan couldn’t help but laugh self-deprecatingly. As for Leng Le, she also felt a pang of bitter emotions.
Gu Fan wore a dispirited expression and sighed deeply: "Do you know why I came here?"
Leng Le frowned, "Weren’t you caught by accident?"
To this, Gu Fan shook his head: "I got captured on purpose, then tried to use the tracking device to show Lin Xi and the Boss my location. We had planned to join forces from inside and outside, and save everyone."
Leng Le was surprised for a moment, a ripple of emotion flashing through her heart: "You came to save people, weren’t you trying to save me?"
"Not just you, but also the crew members who came with me." After saying this, Gu Fan noticed a look of disappointment on Leng le’s face, and then he slightly smiled: "Actually, the Boss told me something about you, which gave me the courage to come here."
Leng Le felt a little tense, "What did the Boss tell you?"
"What the Boss said, you can ask her yourself when you get back. But you’re so smart, you probably already know." As Gu Fan sat on the ship, leaning against the wall, a heavy weight settled in his heart, a feeling of helplessness, as if he really couldn’t escape.
"Do you think we can really escape?" Leng Le was not optimistic. In the midst of continuous torment, she suddenly felt like giving up, gradually becoming indifferent, and even casting aside the past issues between her and Gu Fan.
"I don’t know, but if there’s a chance, I’ll take you with me, we’ll all leave." As Gu Fan said these words, his voice was weak, and he no longer had any confidence. Then he took a glance at Leng Le, smiled gently, and patted the empty space next to him, inviting Leng Le to sit beside him.
At this point, the two of them had become each other’s support. In this situation, at least they were not facing it alone.
Leng Le sat next to Gu Fan, resting her head on his shoulder. Maybe they really couldn’t escape, so she decided to once again feel the warmth she once had.
Gu Fan clasped Leng Le’s hand, trying to give her some belief, only to discover that her hand was so cold, which made his heart even colder.
"We can’t escape, can we?" Gu Fan looked at the tightly closed room door. It didn’t seem very solid and he was suddenly struck with a thought. Why not try to open it?
Although the door was locked from the outside, it was made of wood after all, and it would be easy to break. Maybe they could really leave the room and see what the outside is like.
But in doing so, they had to be cautious. Lisa would definitely notice, so she might get angry and get rid of Gu Fan and Leng Le.
In the end, Gu Fan decided to give it a shot, at all costs. So, he banged on the door: "Hey, is anybody out there? I’m not feeling well, I want to go out and get some fresh air."
Gu Fan had shouted more than a dozen times, with no response. It was clear that there was no one on the outside guarding the door. Perhaps, everyone aboard the ship had left.
Leng Le had observed that the door was bolted shut from the outside. If it wasn’t locked, maybe they could shake it open.
Gu Fan thought it was indeed a good idea, and so he grabbed the door handle and started shaking it with all his might. After several attempts, he felt like the door could open. His heartbeat accelerated, knowing that once the door opened, what he would see might be a whole new world,
...and discovering this secret could also bring him trouble.
But since he had expended so much effort to open this door, he felt there was no reason not to open it. So, Gu Fan and Leng Le looked at each other. From each other’s eyes they saw a mutual acceptance of the risks involved. So, with a deep breath, Gu Fan counted to three, then opened the door, and the two of them rushed out together.
As they stepped out, Gu Fan and Leng Le were stunned. The deck was deserted, with the sea flowing around them. They could clearly see the fish in the water and even spot a gigantic whale faraway.
Gu Fan and Leng Le were startled. It felt as though the ship was encapsulated by a transparent protective barrier and then sunk deep into the sea.
"Gu Fan, what is that?" Leng Le pointed to the right, and Gu Fan immediately stared in that direction. It seemed like there was an island not far away, as though they could set foot on it just by going off the ship.
A ship that could sink into the sea, an island under the sea, if Gu Fan wasn’t mistaken, that island must be the secret base of the Wandering Sea Ghosts. It was no wonder they didn’t want him to see it, it was such a well guarded secret.
Gu Fan took a good look; the underwater island seemed to be not that simple, it seemed like something was moving underneath the island, but he couldn’t see it clearly.
"Wait a minute!" Gu Fan saw something moving back and forth on the island. It seemed to be Lisa.
Leng Le frowned, "It really looks like Lisa, and it appears they seemed unconcerned about us escaping. They seem to be swimming back this way."
"My God, they look angry. I think we’re in trouble." Gu Fan was now a bit nervous, unsure if the Wandering Sea Ghosts still had any reason left when they were infuriated.
