Just as Gu Fan thought about quitting, he heard Boss Ding call: "Gu Fan, can you get me a cup of coffee?"

"Okay, Boss Ding, I will pour one for you right away." Gu Fan sighed. He’s already worked here for a week, he must grit his teeth and persist in this for at least a month, get his salary, and then say goodbye.

Originally, Gu Fan planned to make money here while continuing to look for better jobs, because he thought that the current situation of the company would mean there’d be a lot of free time for him to job hunt.

As soon as he entered the office, Gu Fan saw the depressed Boss Ding, constantly rubbing his forehead as if he were in considerable trouble. No, to be precise, he was in a predicament; otherwise, he wouldn’t be the only person left in the company, all the employees were gone.

Gu Fan walked forward, placing the coffee on Boss Ding’s desk: "Your coffee, Boss Ding."

"Alright, thank you!" Boss Ding, staring at his computer screen replied weakly. Gu Fan decided not to disturb him further and left the office.

As Gu Fan was leaving Boss Ding noticed his departure. On a whim, he asked, "Gu Fan, have you read the company materials I gave you? What’s your opinion about the projects our company is currently investing in?"

Hearing this, Gu Fan felt a chill. Because he barely read them. Firstly, because Boss Ding had kept him so busy that he had no interest. Secondly, because he wasn’t interested in it and was planning to leave. Why look at it now?

Gu Fan awkwardly answered: "Sorry Boss Ding, I’ve been a bit busy recently and I haven’t had much time to look at it. I will give you my feedback as soon as I finish reading it."

"Okay, you go on with your work." Boss Ding looked disappointed, leaving Gu Fan feeling guilty.

Exiting the office, Gu Fan couldn’t help but sigh. Boss Ding was clutching at straws, giving Gu Fan a chance to show his worth, but Gu Fan hadn’t prepared himself and hence, missed the opportunity.

Beyond Boss Ding being disappointed in Gu Fan, Gu Fan was also disappointed in himself. Isn’t this what he wanted to do? How could he have missed it?

Gu Fan realized it was foolish to miss it once, he couldn’t afford to miss it again. So, he quickly started flipping through the materials that Boss Ding gave him. Although it only introduced some simple investment projects with no detailed content, Gu Fan read it word by word, striving to understand the company.

While Gu Fan was engrossed, his phone rang startling him. Seeing that it was Su Hui, he answered the call: "What’s up, Sister Su?"

Her pleasant voice came through the receiver: "No reason, just wanted to ask how you’re finding work, whether it’s hard or if there’s any idea of giving up the fight."

"How could it be? Why would I retreat? I’ve finally found such an ideal job and such an ideal company. Regardless of how much pressure I face, I have to stick it through." Gu Fan answered this way, but he was cursing in his heart. The reason he wants to leave right after realizing that this company was a trap was largely because he boasted to Su Hui, Lin Xi, and Gu Ling that he had found the job he wanted and swore to make a difference.
