Chapter 509: Chapter 509: The Rescue Troops Have Arrived
Just as Leng Le was about to give up, she suddenly received a message from the big boss, Su Hui had left the old house and was undoubtedly on her way to meet with Gu Fan and Gu Ling.
"The opportunity is here." Leng Le immediately informed the people who had not left the various exits, to notify her immediately if they spotted Su Hui’s car.
Soon, Leng Le started receiving numerous reports from her subordinates. Using the movements of Su Hui, she started to determine the approximate location of Gu Fan and Gu Ling, marked out the areas, and then ordered her people nearby to surround all the exits in that area.
Leng Le drove there herself, using the car as a mobile command center, receiving updates along the way. Su Hui’s movements were still under her control, which made it possible for her to predict the whereabouts of Gu Fan.
"Please, let me win this time." Leng Le really wanted to defeat Gu Fan, who always seemed to outwit her.
Meanwhile, Gu Fan and Gu Ling already knew that Su Hui was on her way, and their hope of escape seemed to brighten. However, Gu Ling’s happiness was short-lived as she looked around frantically, her face pale with fear.
Seeing Gu Ling’s reaction, Gu Fan knew something must have happened and quickly asked, "What’s wrong Xiaoling, has something happened?"
"It isn’t right, every path is dangerous, bro, I think we’re surrounded." Gu Ling’s words cast a dark shadow over Gu Fan’s heart.
Since he was unfamiliar with the area, he could only rely on his mobile phone’s maps, but he could not find a single side road to escape.
With safety in mind, Gu Fan had intentionally chosen to wait for Su Hui at a crossroads, but his adversaries had still managed to surround him, blocking every path, leaving him puzzled as to how they had achieved this.
On top of this, they had another issue to deal with. Su Hui’s phone was out of battery, and she was using Lin Xi’s phone which was also almost dead, and to make matters worse, Gu Fan discovered that his own phone was running low on battery. If they couldn’t meet this time, they wouldn’t be able to contact each other through their mobile phones.
Gu Fan knew that even if they managed to break through this siege, without being able to contact Su Hui they wouldn’t be able to inform her of their whereabouts for reinforcements.
"We have to settle it here." Gu Fan turned back to ask, "Xiaoling, can you sense which direction is the most dangerous?"
At this, Gu Ling just shook her head, indicating that she couldn’t sense it.
"No other option, we’ll have to take a gamble." Gu Fan quickly made a call to Su Hui, informing her of the road they would be heading towards, and then started rushing towards that location with Gu Ling.
"Okay, I got it. You must hurry to that location. Hang in there." After saying this, Su Hui hung up the phone, then floored the accelerator, her heart filled with urgency.
Watching his phone switch off due to the low battery, Gu Fan sighed and, along with Gu Ling, headed towards the right exit of the crossroads.
Upon hearing the plan, Gu Ling became worried, "Brother, are we just going to run directly into the enemy’s line of fire?"
Gu Fan pulled Gu Ling and started running, "We have no choice. If we remain here, we will eventually be surrounded by enemies from all directions. Now, we’re attacking one exit proactively, meaning we’re facing enemies from a single direction, while enemies from the other three directions will take longer to reach us. Perhaps, we can hold off till Su Hui arrives."
"What a great idea, big bro, you’re awesome." Gu Ling thought this plan might work, so they started running, but they were soon confronted by five people.
"Just five? Get out of my way." Gu Fan shouted, releasing Gu Ling’s hand, accelerating at a sprint, leaping forward, and knocked down one of them with a knee strike.
Gu Ling was dumbfounded. Although Gu Fan’s skills were not as good as Su Hui’s, he was still a formidable fighter. He skillfully evaded the enemy’s blockade with agile footwork, then threw a beautiful combination punch that sent the second enemy staggering backward.
Despite being outnumbered five to one, Gu Fan barely held the upper hand. Seeing Gu Fan as a difficult adversary and Gu Ling as an easy target, the enemies decided to send one to capture Gu Ling.
Gu Ling started running in fear, not going far, just running in circles in the road, making left and right turns, trying to buy as much time as possible.
But Gu Ling was not particularly fast, and just as she was about to be caught, a car charged onto the scene, came to a halt with precision, the door self-opened, revealing Su Hui. Seeing Su Hui, the people knew they stood no chance and quickly dispersed.
"Wow, Sister Su to the rescue, I love you." Gu Ling, having narrowly escaped, cheered in ecstasy, throwing her arms around Su Hui in a tight hug.
After successfully fending off the enemies, Gu Fan was panting heavily, but also feeling relieved. Meeting up with Su Hui meant they were basically safe for now.
"Let’s get back quickly, Lin Xi is still facing the big boss and Qian Feng alone." Su Hui’s words again cast a shadow over Gu Fan. He quickly got into Su Hui’s car, hoping they arrived in time.
Gu Fan was worried for two reasons. Firstly, he was unsure if Lin Xi could handle two powerful opponents, and secondly, he was fearful that these abnormal people would destroy the old house during the fight, leaving him unable to answer to his parents.
On their way, Su Hui drove as fast as lightning, while puzzled, "Gu Fan, what on earth did you do that made both the big boss and Qian Feng target you?"
Gu Ling added, "Bro, you need to reflect, look at us, we’re going through all this because of you."
"If you’re scared, then move back with our parents, it would take some load off my mind." Gu Fan retorted irritably, to which Gu Ling immediately recanted, "No no no, we’re siblings, we should stick together, please don’t send me away."
Hearing this, Gu Fan was lost for words, but he was too anxious about the situation at the old house to engage in banter.
Su Hui suddenly remembered something, "Gu Fan, do you remember what you told me? If your guess is correct, that would explain why both the big boss and Qian Feng are targeting you."
"But what do they gain from targeting me?" Gu Fan was clueless.
Gu Ling curiously asked, "What’s going on? I don’t understand what you guys are talking about. Did you discover something you haven’t told me?"
"I will tell you later. For now, we must get there as soon as possible, I hope Lin Xi is okay." Gu Fan was feeling nervous, sensing bad premonitions.
Su Hui tried to comfort him, "When I arrived at the old house with Lin Xi, it seemed like Qian Feng and the big boss were getting along really well, I’m afraid they might have reached some form of agreement."
"You’ve got to be kidding me. Are they really joining forces?" Gu Fan regretted summoning the big boss back to this city, but it was too late
