Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 476: The Former Residents

Chapter 476: Chapter 476: The Former Residents

The big boss contemplated deeply, and a smirk appeared on his face: "Returning the favor, erasing past disgrace, and you not siding with my brother, these terms alone aren’t enough, Gu Fan."

"Why don’t the big boss offer another condition then? Maybe I can agree to it." Gu Fan seeing that the big boss still had interest in talking, he knew there was hope. He just didn’t know what kind of condition the big boss would bring up.

The big boss’s eyes and smile were both filled with business, then he snapped his fingers, and two men walked in. One was the tall and robust Hai, and the other looked like a middle-aged uncle.

"Old Zhu, let me introduce, this is Gu Fan, who I previously mentioned to you." The big boss’s words confused Gu Fan. Who was this Old Zhu, and why did the big boss seem to be referring him?

Old Zhu was also polite and shook hands with Gu Fan, giving off a very friendly impression.

Gu Fan couldn’t help but ask, "Excuse me, big boss, did you mean to send this subordinate to help me deal with Shennv Xuanhui? Does he have any particular abilities?"

To that, the big boss shook his head: "Sorry to disappoint you, but Old Zhu doesn’t have any special abilities. He just happens to have a deep connection with your Gu Family."

"Connection, what do you mean?" Gu Fan was confused. He didn’t know what the big boss was playing at.

Only to hear the big boss continue: "Old Zhu’s family used to live in the same old house as yours, although they moved out quite early, so even your father might not know them."

"What! You used to live in that old house too." Gu Fan was taken aback. He didn’t expect to run into them here. But on second thought, it didn’t seem right. How could Old Zhu become a subordinate of the big boss? Was there any hidden secret?

The big boss smiled lightly: "Gu Fan, if you want my help, I can provide it. I don’t want to return any favor, or erase any disgrace. I only want things that align with my interests. My condition is simple. Once the job is done, you must transfer the ownership of your old house to Old Zhu."

"What, you’re targeting my old house." Gu Fan was startled. This was not a condition he could accept because the old house was a significant family heirloom passed down from his grandfather.

Gu Fan frowned, wanting to refuse, but didn’t want to state it directly. After thinking for a while, he said, "Sorry, although I live in that house, it is technically my parents’, and they plan to pass it to me, but it’ll take at least thirty years. If you guys have the patience to wait for thirty years."

The big boss shook his head: "Sorry, I don’t have the patience. You need to quickly figure out how to convince your parents to pass the old house to you and then transfer it to Old Zhu. No matter how you do it. If you hope for my help, sort it quickly."

"I’m very sorry, but even in a hurry, it’s impossible. Since the big boss isn’t willing to help then, I’ll go seek help from Zhuo Hang. And I can confidently tell the big boss that you will never get our old house in your lifetime." Gu Fan spoke resolutely, showing no room for negotiation.

Seeing Gu Fan about to leave, the big boss frowned. A glance at Old Zhu, who looked worried, made him realize that things weren’t that simple.

Once Gu Fan reached Hai, he lightly said, "We have to save Lin Xi. We’re up against a formidable enemy. It’s going to be a tough battle, and Jie will be part of it. If you don’t want anything to happen to Jie, you should help too."

Hearing this, Hai was furious: "Gu Fan, stop dragging Jie into this. What kind of friend are you doing this?"

"You’re wrong. That’s what real friends do in trying times. When the big boss triggered the self-destruction of the floating island, Lin Xi risked her life to give everyone a chance to escape. So, we all are thankful to Lin Xi, including Jie. Everyone will contribute to saving Lin Xi," Gu Fan continued while walking proudly, "You should feel fortunate that Jie is surrounded by real friends. When he’s in danger, they’ll risk their lives to pull him up. If you’re blaming these so-called real friends for causing danger and trouble to Jie, then you should reflect on yourself. For all the things you’ve done for the big boss, haven’t you ever thought about how one day you might bring trouble and implicate Jie?"

Hai was so angry that he couldn’t speak. He clenched his fists, seemingly eager to rush up and beat up Gu Fan.

"Oh, by the way. Just a friendly reminder," Gu Fan paused slightly when he reached the door, then turned around and smirked, "If Shennv Xuanhui manages to completely change Lin Xi’s mindset, she’ll side with them. Then we’ll be no match for them, even if your big boss wants to help. You’re not an opponent of Shennv Xuanhui, and my old house will undoubtedly fall into the hands of Shennv Xuanhui. I’m sure that’s not what your big boss wants to see."

The big boss didn’t respond but kept silent, watching Gu Fan leave in peace.

Gu Fan walked for a long time without hearing anyone call him from behind. He felt disappointed, like this trip was wasted - he hadn’t gained any new allies.

Unable to find assistance here, Gu Fan could only resort to the backup plan. He reached for his phone to send a message to Su Hui but put it down again. He didn’t really want Su Hui to get help from Zhuo Hang, and then through this crisis, the two could reconcile and get back together.

"Isn’t there any other way?" Gu Fan knew time was running out and that he had to figure out a way to rescue Lin Xi quickly.

Back at the hotel, Gu Fan packed up his stuff, intending to catch the morning ferry back. However, when he got to the dock, he was told the last boat of the day was full, and he wouldn’t be able to leave until tomorrow.

"Are they not even letting me leave in peace?" Things weren’t going smoothly, and Gu Fan was feeling dejected. Watching the afterglow of the sunset, his spirits sank further.

Just as Gu Fan was ready to head back to the hotel, a yacht slowly approached. This made Gu Fan frown. Something seemed unusual.

When a slim figure stepped off the yacht, leaning against the handrail with a smile on her face, Gu Fan’s hope ignited, and his spirits were lifted.

"What are you waiting for? If you don’t hurry up, the big boss might change his mind." Upon hearing Leng Le’s words, Gu Fan couldn’t help but laugh. As soon as the yacht docked, he eagerly jumped onto it.

Once inside the cabin, Gu Fan saw the big boss comfortably seated on the sofa, shaking his drink: "Consider yourself lucky, Gu Fan. I suddenly fancy another meeting with Shennv Xuanhui. Now that I think about it, I can return your favor, erase my disgrace, and not give my brother a chance to be forgiven by you. It seems to be in my favor, and worth giving it a try."

"Great, then I’d like to thank the big boss for his noble assistance." After saying that, Gu Fan put on a grateful expression.
