Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Cease for Now

Several hours later, Lin Xi woke up on a beach, her head still heavy and groggy, feeling uncomfortable. As she finally managed to regain her senses, she saw the unfamiliar surroundings and, remembering the events that had transpired, became instantly alert.

Qian Feng stood at a distance, arms crossed, facing the sea. As the sea breeze blew, her hair billowed and danced in the wind.

"Sister!" Lin Xi exclaimed in surprise. Qian Feng clearly woke up earlier and had the opportunity to harm Lin Xi while she was unconscious. But Qian Feng did nothing.

Qian Feng didn’t even glance at Lin Xi. "I just woke up. My supernatural power has not yet recovered. I am letting you off the hook today, but don’t get it wrong. I am not doing this out of kindness." Saying this, Qian Feng turned around and left, seeming genuinely determined not to trouble Lin Xi.

Just as Lin Xi started to feel relieved, Qian Feng suddenly stopped, not looking back, and added, "A rule is always a rule. You, of all people, should know the one that you and I have established. As long as you live, you can’t leave the Shennv Xuanhui. You must suffer the consequences of your own actions."

Lin Xi sighed in silence. She didn’t say anything about the possibility of changing such unfair rules, for Qian Feng’s temperament was well-known to her.

"Qian Ye, cherish this period of peaceful living. Because next time, I will not let you off easy." Having said that, Qian Feng disappeared into the night, riding the wind.

To this, Lin Xi couldn’t help but scoff, "She hasn’t changed a bit. She still loves to be melodramatic."

With the crisis averted, Lin Xi stood up, brushing the sand off herself. The sensation of surviving this ordeal felt incredibly strenuous.

"I wonder how my parents are. Are they safe? And where am I? Sister, you should have at least given me a hint. This is so irresponsible, leaving me here. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere is pitiful." Just when she was at her wits’ end, Lin Xi quickly sent a location pin to Gu Fan using her cellphone, thanking the modern inventions for coming in handy.

Two hours later, Du Jun finally drove over to pick up Lin Xi who was shivering on the seashore from the sea breeze. Throughout the journey, Lin Xi thanked Du Jun for his life-saving kindness, while intermittently sneezing.

Du Jun assured Lin Xi that her parents had already been sent home safely and that she could head back to the university as it was nearly dawn anyway. Furthermore, she had been staying at the dormitory for the past few days, so her parents wouldn’t suspect her absence. It would be more suspicious if Lin Xi suddenly returned home.

Lin Xi accepted Du Jun’s suggestion. After returning to the university, it was almost dawn, and she had spent the entire previous night in turmoil. Once she got back to her dorm, she decided to skip her classes and sleep, pondering what harm this sleeplessness might cause to her skin.

As for the others; Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Jie were all asleep, they all collectively skipped classes for the day. Even Su Hui had taken a day off because she simply couldn’t hold on any longer.

They slept from morning till the afternoon. When Lin Xi woke up, it was already dark. Gu Fan was hurrying around, hoping that such nights wouldn’t come often; otherwise, the stress would be unbearable.

Assuming everyone was well-rested by now, Gu Fan called Lin Xi. Worry tinted his question: "How are you, my beauty? Feeling better now?"

Lin Xi instantly replied: "Much better. Do you know who I am? I am not an ordinary woman. What about you? Did you get injured last night? Need me to treat you?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan lifted his arm and felt a bit of soreness. He responded, "It seems like everyone got injured in some way. So why don’t you be kind enough to heal us?"

"Okay. But not tonight as I am on my way home. Tomorrow is the weekend, why don’t you ask everyone to stay at your place, and I will come over to heal them?" While Lin Xi spoke, she began to hasten her pace.

Gu Fan, knowing what Lin Xi was worried about, reassured her, "Don’t worry, your parents were sent back safely by us. I checked their respiration and pulse which were normal, they must have woken up by now."

"I know, but I am still a bit anxious. I don’t want such things to happen again," Lin Xi voiced her concerns. Gu Fan was also curious about where Lin Xi and Qian Feng had ended up during their fight last night. Lin Xi being safe, did it mean that Lin Xi had won?

Lin Xi informed him about the night’s events, stating that Qian Feng had actually won. Qian Feng probably showed mercy due to their past relationship. However, Qian Feng hadn’t declared the fight had ended, implying that she might trouble Lin Xi again.

"Please convey my thanks to everyone. I am grateful to Su Hui, Lu Yi, Jie, Gu ling, and Qin Jia for risking their lives to help me last night. I will never forget their kindness. Knowing these people truly makes my life worthwhile," Lin Xi expressed her heartfelt gratitude.

Gu Fan chuckled, "Don’t forget, who was it that stayed behind until the end to buy us time to escape when we were on the floating island? That’s what friends do."

Hearing this, Lin Xi’s heart warmed. However, when Gu Fan coughed awkwardly and said, "Lin Xi, there is something that I need to be honest about. Yesterday, when you and Sister Su were both in danger, I went to help Sister Su. I sent Lu Yi and the others to help you. You won’t blame me, will you?"

"Why would I?" Lin Xi retorted politely and graciously, "Sister Su risked her life to save my parents. If anything happened to her, I would feel guilty for the rest of my life. As my boyfriend, of course, you should have gone to save Sister Su on my behalf. Why would I blame you? "

Listening to Lin Xi’s gracious response, Gu Fan was relieved, "I knew my girlfriend would understand. I knew it..."

Listening to Gu Fan praising her excessively, Lin Xi couldn’t help but chuckle, "Alright, Gu Fan, I have reached my home. I will call you later."

"Alright, see you tomorrow." Saying this, Gu Fan ended the call. Noticing a faint look of displeasure on her face, Lin Xi came to understand that even though Gu Fan’s decision was right, she still felt a little unhappy.

Not dwelling on these thoughts, Lin Xi took a deep breath and opened her home door. She eagerly announced as she entered, "Dad, Mom, your darling daughter is home."

"Haha, my darling daughter, I missed you."

"Hurry and wash your hands. We found out you were coming home and made your favorite meal."

Feeling ecstatic, Lin Xi saw the table filled with homemade dishes, smelt the delightful aroma and saw the affectionate faces of her parents. At this moment, this everyday life felt more blissful and happier than ever before.

All of a sudden, a scolding echoed in the room, "You sneaky girl! You dare to hide from your mother and buy such expensive clothes. Don’t think that I won’t recognize a brand name item!"

Lin Xi broke out in a cold sweat and quickly explained, "Mom, I bought it during a sale. It was cheap. Really cheap."
