Now, they regard me as a traitor and won’t stop pursuing me."

"Oh, I see," Gu Ling said as if she got it. She then proceeded to ask, "But Lin Xi, do you all have some special abilities? Do you use magic?"

Upon confirmation, Gu Ling squeezed Lin Xi’s hand in excitement, "No wonder I thought you were extraordinary! You know magic, will you teach me?"

Lin Xi looked embarrassed, "Of course I will, but now’s not the time."

"Fantastic, long live my future sister-in-law!" The ecstatic Gu Ling almost hugged Lin Xi in celebration. Gu Fan coughed a few times, signalling his sister to stop messing around and focus.

Lin Xi continued, "Xiaoling, the actual secret is yet to come. Take a deep breath and prepare yourself."

"Okay, I’ll listen," Gu Ling inhaled deeply three times and gazed at Lin Xi expectantly. "I’m ready. Go on."
