Lin Xi gazed at the view outside the window, and then asked, "Gu Fan, thank you for what you did for me tonight. But I still want to know how you managed to keep Ning Qi held up for so long." After speaking, she stopped gazing out the car window and instead turned her gaze on Gu Fan.

Gu Fan’s face color slightly changed; his back even started to feel cold. He cautiously replied, "I saw Ning Qi’s car passing by, so I abruptly ran onto the road to block her, pretending it was a coincidence that we met."

"Oh, so what did you two talk about then?" Lin Xi asked, her curiosity making Gu Fan slightly uncomfortable, "Just a few phrases. I commented on how surprised I was to bump into Ning Qi, then casually chatted about this and that, reminiscing about our time after we separated from Yuxueyun Mountain."

Lin Xi furrowed her brow, "Ning Qi was supposed to come and take me away at that time, would she have the leisure to endlessly reminisce with you?"

Hearing this, Gu Fan almost lost grip of the steering wheel, silently cursing the intuition of women. Gu Fan couldn’t tell her the truth, so he vaguely answered, "Of course, there was more than just reminiscing, I used every means possible to hold Ning Qi back."

"Alright!" Gu Fan internally complained. He had been with Lin Xi for so long, and knew her temperament well. Even if she knew his actions were justified, she would still get angry and might even bring it up later for leverage against him.

Gu Fan carefully thought for a moment, "Lin Xi, remember, the situation was urgent at that time. No matter what means I employed, I was thinking of you."

Upon hearing these words, Lin Xi no longer pursued the matter. Instead, she stared thoughtfully out of the car window, her expression slightly somber. Then, as if she had understood something, she eased up and gave a little smile. She playfully pinched Gu Fan’s ear, "Alright, it’s my fault. I should not doubt you. I know that everything you do is for me, I should not ignore this."

Looking displeased, Lin Xi retorted, "So what do you want? Should I continue to question you about how you held up Ning Qi, or should I be understanding?"

Gu Fan quickly modified his attitude, "Be understanding, I believe my girlfriend can be understanding."

Lin Xi scoffed, "You definitely did something wrong."
