Chapter 434: A Flying Kick

Chapter 434: Chapter 434: A Flying Kick

While Gu Fan was doing everything he could to hold back Ning Qi, Du Jun and the others in the restaurant were also making plans. They decided to go all out, pretending there was too much stuff, and the hall could not accommodate it all. It was also tough to take inventory, so they gradually moved things out into the hallways.

They spotted it - a staircase that would presumably lead to the second floor, where Gu Ling had directed them.

Being outnumbered, Du Jun knew that the best way to save Lin Xi was to disrupt Qian Ying’s spell casting. That was where Gu Ling came in. The others’ task was to lure away the protective circle around Qian Ying.

Having watched the surveillance footage, Gu Ling already knew that Du Jun and the team were ready to strike at any moment. Thus, she stepped out of the monitoring room. Her sensitivity allowed her to be aware that there were no enemies outside, so she walked out easily.

When Gu Ling reached a corner, she intentionally paused. She sensed an enemy approaching from around the corner. If she turned now, she would be seen.

So, she chose an alternative path instead. Relying on her sensing ability, she avoided all enemies and effortlessly reached another staircase. She then proceeded to move up to the second floor.

Because of her smaller stature and the protection from furniture and walls, Gu Ling was able to sneak close to the terrace on the second floor of the restaurant. She could now see Qian Ying and her three bodyguards.

"What should I do?" Gu Ling knew getting any closer would spell trouble. But without getting closer, she couldn’t do anything. The rest was up to Du Jun and the others.

At this moment, Du Jun used the stacked cargo to block the guards’ view, creating the opportunity for Lu Yi to sprint up the stairs, quickly reaching the second floor of the restaurant.

Without any hesitation, Lu Yi attacked Qian Ying. His sudden appearance diverted the attention of the three bodyguards.

"There is a problem!" The guards below started to mobilize, preparing to arrest Du Jun and Jie. However, they were obstructed by the surrounding cargo.

Lu Yi had some martial arts training and would usually have the upper hand in a one-on-one situation; however, the bodyguards controlled by Qian Ying were incredibly strong. With one punch, Lu Yi was sent flying.

"My god, they’re too powerful." Lu Yi cried out in pain. But seeing one of the bodyguards striding towards him, he immediately suppressed his pain and rolled away to safety.

While being chased by the bodyguard, Lu Yi tried to get close to Qian Ying, even throwing items at her, including tossing a chair directly towards her.

There were still two bodyguards next to Qian Ying. They diligently protected her from every item thrown by Lu Yi. They had learned from their previous mistake and resolved not to leave Qian Ying’s side, no matter what.

Gu Ling had watched from the side for a while but found no opportunity to act. As time went on, the situation started to look dire as Lu Yi had several close calls, while Du Jun and Jie were dodging enemies in the living room, using the towering piles of cargo as much as possible.

If the situation continued this way, they wouldn’t have another chance. They would be finished. Gu Ling urgently took out a piece of white cloth from the pile and stealthily closed the distance to Qian Ying, sensing the situation attentively.

"Now!" Gu Ling lifted the white cloth. At that moment, a strong wind blew it directly towards the two bodyguards near Qian Ying.

Thinking Lu Yi was throwing something else, the two bodyguards focused all their efforts on intercepting it. They didn’t notice the white cloth coming from another direction and were covered by it.

In the meantime, Lu Yi had been captured, and Du Jun and Jie had been immobilized by the enemy. Now, everything depended on Gu Ling.

Gu Ling seized the opportunity to act decisively and quickly close in on Qian Ying, who was immersed in her spell casting. At that moment, the two bodyguards by Qian Ying’s side broke free from the cloth and immediately grabbed Gu Ling.

"So close, so close." Gu Ling felt a force pulling her back. In her desperation, she kicked Qian Ying in the face.

Qian Ying was interrupted abruptly, and those under her control instantly regained consciousness. They appeared dazed and had no idea what had just happened.

The tables turned. Knowing Qian Ying was no longer a threat, Lu Yi wanted to pin her down: "Do you still remember me? Earlier, you even asked me for directions."

Qian Ying raised an eyebrow and quickly rose to her feet to run away. But she was not very swift, and Lu Yi would soon catch up to her.

After everyone in the restaurant woke up to the chaotic scene, they tried to grab Lu Yi’s arm: "What happened here are you guys behind this chaos in the restaurant?"

"It wasn’t me, it was that woman. Let me go. I’ll help you catch her." Lu Yi tried to break free, but the man wouldn’t let go, leaving him no choice but to watch Qian Ying escape.

Also, Gu Ling shouted in desperation: "Let go of me, let go of me, you’ve got the wrong person. You’ve got the wrong person."

Meanwhile, downstairs, Du Jun and Jie were trying to explain the situation to the guards, why there was so much cargo in the restaurant, and who they were.

At that moment, Du Jun saw a woman hurriedly running down the stairs. He instantly realized it was Qian Ying, and wanted to chase after her but was stopped by the restaurant staff. They insisted that until he gave a clear explanation, he could not leave.

Frustrated, Du Jun shouted: "Explanation, to hell with the explanation, I will buy this damn restaurant tomorrow."

Hearing such bold words, Jie felt a sense of relief. It was good to have such a comrade by his side, one who would always foot the bill.

However, their priority was to catch Qian Ying; otherwise, there would be more trouble later. But the restaurant staff was relentless: "Stop bluffing. You, dressed like some mover, dream to buy our high-end restaurant. Are you out of your mind?"

For the first time, Du Jun experienced such disdain. He was almost driven crazy by this and, seeing Qian Ying heading towards the back door, he knew it was no longer possible to catch her and sighed.

Just as Qian Ying ran out the back door, Ning Qi’s car arrived. Seeing a panicked Qian Ying hop onto the passenger seat, Ning Qi could guess what had transpired and casually asked: "Someone came to save Lin Xi, didn’t they?"

"Yes, it’s all your fault. Why did you come only now?" After saying this, Qian Ying furrowed her eyebrows as she noticed something was off about Ning Qi’s clothes and asked: "What happened? Did you run into some trouble?"

"Nothing much, just a little car trouble." On the surface, Ning Qi seemed calm, but inside, she was seething. She was certain now that Gu Fan was there to stall for time, not chasing after his true love, Ning Qi.

"Wait for me, Gu Fan. I am not done with you, not at all," promised Ning Qi.
