Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared -
Chapter 432: Smuggling Through
Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Smuggling Through
The restaurant’s front and back doors were both guarded by men who were under the influence of Qian Ying. One of them looked at his watch and realized some time had passed. He wondered why Ning Qi had been gone for so long.
At this moment, Gu Fan was desperately distracting Ning Qi, leaving the task of rescuing Lin Xi to Du Jun and Lu Yi.
Qin Jia began to panic: "What should we do? Gu Fan can’t delay much longer. We need to hurry up and figure something out. Lin Xi might be in danger."
"I’m thinking, I’m thinking." Du Jun scratched his head, racking his brains for a solution.
Lu Yi commented, "I’ve already contacted Sister Su, but it will take her some time to get here. I’m worried that we don’t have that much time."
"There must be a way, there must be." Du Jun thought hard, but couldn’t find a better option than breaking in by force.
Jie joined the conversation: "The restaurant must be filled with enemies by now. Why hasn’t Lin Xi fought her way out yet? She must be completely trapped. We must act quickly."
After some thinking, Du Jun couldn’t come up with a good idea. He turned around and thought about the fact that their own home was a restaurant too. There were many similarities.
"You say there’s a wicked woman who can control others. So that means the guards at the door are under the wicked woman’s control." Du Jun finished, smirked slightly, and then dialed a number on his phone.
A moment later, a vehicle arrived at the restaurant and a person dressed as a delivery worker got out, greeting energetically, "Hello, I’ve brought the delivery as scheduled."
The two guards were stunned. They were completely under Qian Ying’s control, and she had no idea about the delivery.
More delivery people got out of the visiting vehicle and began unloading crates, seemingly intending to take them into the restaurant. This put the guards in a bind. Should they let them in or not?
One of the delivery people was Du Jun. He looked surprised, "What’s going on? Brother, you don’t want us to bring these in?"
"Uh..." One of the guards hesitated, then suggested, "Why don’t you just leave everything here, and we’ll move it in ourselves later."
Du Jun looked surprised, "What? Leave everything outside? This has never happened before. What’s going on with you tonight? Why are you standing out here?"
The guards explained, "We have important guests today, so we can’t let anyone else in. Even we have to stay outside."
Du Jun looked puzzled, "You’ve had important guests before, but you always use the VIP room. You also told us to move things to the storeroom, which won’t disturb the guests at all."
This left Qian Ying speechless, but seeing Du Jun’s confusion, she considered letting them in as long as they stayed away from the VIP room.
Qian Ying didn’t want to raise unnecessary suspicion, so she allowed the group disguised as delivery workers inside.
Du Jun, Lu Yi, and Jie carried crates of wine bottles inside the restaurant. Once inside, they quickly scanned their surroundings, noticing that the hall was not crowded.
"Brother, where should we put these this time?" Du Jun intentionally asked this. The guards were perplexed, "Is this your first time delivering here? Don’t you know where to put the crates?"
Du Jun answered, "We just follow your directions each time, some to the storeroom and some to the kitchen."
The guard faltered, "Let’s just put everything in the storeroom."
Du Jun protested, "In that case, you should send one of your men to open the storeroom for us."
This put Qian Ying in a difficult position as she didn’t know who among the guards had the key to the storeroom. She finally changed her mind, "Just put everything in the kitchen then."
Du Jun feigned surprise, "All of this? It wouldn’t fit."
Qian Ying hesitated, "Fine. Leave it in the hall."
Du Jun hesitated, "But you have important guests. What if they come out and see the mess? Is that okay?"
"Nothing satisfies you! You are very annoying." Qian Ying mumbled under her breath. She then instructed the guards, "Don’t worry about it. We’ll handle it. You just do as you’re told."
Du Jun expressed his grievances, "Fine, but I must tell you in advance that this is your idea. If your guests complain, don’t blame us and deny your orders, refusing to purchase our goods."
"Alright, alright. I got it. Just do as you’re told." The guard lost his patience, finding Du Jun tedious.
And so, Du Jun, Lu Yi, and Jie began to unload the crates, one by one.
The guards checked every crate, all of which contained wine and other necessities for the restaurant, reinforcing their belief in the authenticity of Du Jun and his companions. How could they possibly quickly obtain all these goods were they here to rescue Lin Xi?
All these goods were transferred from Du Jun’s own restaurant. Although it might incur financial loss, the rescue of Lin Xi was more important. The bill could be footed later on, perhaps on Gu Fan’s account.
As the delivery continued, the hall gradually filled up with crates, making it disorganized. Qian Ying didn’t pay much attention, and kept a close eye on these men.
"This is strange. What on earth is Ning Qi doing? She still hasn’t arrived." Qian Ying was growing impatient. Suddenly, she noticed one of the delivery guys straying from the group, heading towards other areas of the restaurant.
A guard quickly went to intercept him, "Where do you think you’re going?"
Lu Yi acted surprised, "I just needed a bathroom break. Is that a problem?"
"Oh, I see. Go ahead," the guard said, not having a suitable reason to stop him. When he saw the accusatory gaze in Lu Yi’s eyes, he felt guilty.
However, the guard didn’t have the intention to let Lu Yi out of his sight, so he followed Lu Yi to the bathroom, making it difficult for Lu Yi to act.
Meanwhile, Jie, who was still unloading crates, pretended to be very tired. One of the other guards, looking at Jie’s back, felt a sense of familiarity, as if he had seen Jie before.
"What should we do? They are watching us so closely, and we still don’t know where Lin Xi is." Du Jun was getting anxious as they were about to run out of crates to unload.
