Most people were unaware of last night’s events, and life on campus continued as usual. Gu Fan and Lin Xi were walking to the lecture hall together, side by side, chatting and laughing—the image of a couple deeply in love, enviable to anyone who saw them.

"It’s probably not your story that’s terrifying, but the people in it." Having said that, Gu Fan watched Lin Xi retreating, knitting his brows. He had an uneasy feeling, as if major trouble was coming their way.

A while later, Lin Xi rushed into Gu Ling’s classroom and pulled her outside.

Gu Ling was bewildered, "What’s the matter, future sister-in-law? What’s so urgent that you had to pull me out?"

Lin Xi got straight to the point: "Gu Ling, please repeat your story about last night, especially the part about the woman. What did she look like? What was she doing when you saw her?"

Gu Ling recounted the events of the previous night, emphasizing the peculiarity of the mysterious woman. She was sitting on the ground motionless, only stirring after Gu Ling slapped her awake.

After hearing this, Lin Xi fell into deep thought, leaving Gu Ling curious. "Future sister-in-law, why do you care so much about this? Do you know that woman?"

"Of course not, I just came out of concern for you," Lin Xi feigned nonchalance, then patted Gu Ling’s shoulder and said, "Alright Xiaoling, go back to class. Tonight, I’ll bring you to join the dance club."

"Great, thanks future sister-in-law." Having said that, Gu Ling turned and ran back to her classroom.

Lin Xi’s expression darkened, and then she began walking back, her thoughts in turmoil. She wished for some solitude.

However, as she was walking, she saw Gu Fan halfway, who looked like he had been waiting for a while.

"You said you were feeling unwell, that you were going back to your dorm. So why did you come to this lecture hall?" The gravity of Gu Fan’s question made Lin Xi feel uncomfortable: "You knew I would come to find Gu Ling, so you intentionally waited here."

Gu Fan nodded, "I’m not stupid. Your complexion changed after hearing Jie’s story, so I knew something was wrong."

Lin Xi mulled it over, and then said, "I’ll handle this matter. Don’t worry, I won’t cause any trouble for you."
