At this time and place, Jie, who was pinned on the ground by two men and couldn’t move, was suddenly released by the two bewildered men. They looked at each other and then around them, seemingly clueless as to what had just occurred.

One of the men asked, "Where are we, and who are you all?"

The other man was also puzzled, "I don’t know, I wanted to ask the same thing?"

Jie was dumbstruck. Just moments ago, he was captive of the two men and feared the worst, but then an absurd scene unfolded.

Meanwhile, Lin Xi, who was under severe attack and couldn’t escape, sensed something odd when all his assailants astonishingly froze on the spot, standing there dumbfounded as if they had forgotten their own identities.

Lin Xi quickly grasped what had happened, breathed a sigh of relief, and watched as the once terrified men scuttled away.

Yang Xinran stood still, her unease greater than anyone’s. "Lin Xi, what happened to me? I can’t remember a thing, how did I end up here?"

"You really don’t remember? You were sleepwalking, but you’re okay now, let’s return to the dormitory," Lin Xi said, leading her away.

Confusion filled Yang Xinran, "Sleepwalking? When did I ever have such a problem?"

Lin Xi nodded, "It’s quite common. Many people sleepwalk without ever realizing it. You should feel lucky that I found you in time, it could have been very dangerous."

Listeing to this, Yang Xinran furrowed her brows, "What was with those guys?"

Lin Xi thought for a moment before saying, "You wouldn’t believe how frightful and peculiar you look when sleepwalking. You were drawing in quite a crowd. Now, they left because the show is over."

"Really? Was I sleepwalking?" Yang Xinran found it hard to believe. But Lin Xi assured her, "Otherwise, how do you explain your sudden appearance here?"

Unable to counter, Yang Xinran silently wondered if she really had been sleepwalking. It felt so strange.

Meanwhile, in a classroom, a mysterious woman woke up. She touched her cheek that had been slapped and shot an angry glance at the bewildered Gu Ling, as if blaming her for something.

Gu Ling said with a grin, "Miss, I’m glad you finally woke up. I was afraid something might have happened to you. The floor is quite cold, you could’ve caught a cold if you continued sleeping here. You don’t have to thank me, it was the least I could do."

The mysterious lady huffed and left the room. On her way out, she shot a fierce glare at Gu Ling.

Gu Ling shook her head and sighed, "What’s with people these days? Can’t even bother to say a simple thank you."

A while later, Jie hustled into the room. Seeing that Gu Ling was unharmed, he hastily asked, "What happened, Xiaoling? Did you run into trouble?"

"Not at all- I’m fine. But why do you look so flustered, Brother Jie?" Gu Ling replied, puzzled.

Clearly annoyed, Jie replied, "I got into that mess because of you. I was nearly beaten by those two men! Luckily they strangely let me go."

"Oh really?" Gu Ling pondered for a moment, then asked, "By the way, did you see anyone on your way here?"

Jie nodded, "I thought I saw the silhouette of a woman down the corner, but then she vanished."

"I see." Gu Ling grew thoughtful, wondering who the mysterious woman was.

Noticing Gu Ling’s expression, Jie asked, "Something is off about this place today. Xiaoling, did you notice anything unusual?"

Gu Ling nodded, "When I entered this classroom, there was a beautiful woman sitting on the floor. I tried to wake her but she was unresponsive. To prevent her from catching a cold, I slapped her awake. But then, she left without saying a word of thanks. I just don’t understand what I did wrong?"

Hearing this, Jie was speechless. Gu Ling had acted brashly without knowing who the woman was. Jie felt sorry for Gu Fan for having a stress-inducing sister like Gu Ling.

Despite the close call, Jie and Gu Ling quickly left the building. Upon exiting, Gu Ling turned back, her previous unease was now gone and everything appeared regular again.

"Strange, could that lady be the cause of the problem?" Gu Ling pondered when suddenly a figure on a bicycle came rushing towards them. She instinctively shrank back a little.

"What the hell! I called and texted you so many times with no response, do you know how worried I was?" Gu Fan stormed at her. Gu Ling quickly adopted a remorseful stance.

After a while, Gu Fan asked, "And why are you here, Jie?"

Jie replied with a wry smile, "Your sister mentioned that something was off about this building and wanted me to accompany her on this adventure. Out of friendship and to ensure her safety, I foolishly followed her and nearly met a disaster."

Gu Fan scoffed, "An issue with the building? If there were any issues, other students would have encountered them, and we would have known it already."

Jie explained, "It’s not the building itself, but there seems to be something off about it today. We both went to check it out and ran into some trouble."

"Trouble?" After learning about the events from Jie and Gu Ling, Gu Fan was also puzzled. Gu Ling had a keen sense of intuition since childhood, and together with Jie’s corroboration, it confirmed that something unusual had indeed happened that night.

Gu Fan thought for a moment and glanced sternly at Gu Ling, "The next time you encounter such a situation, stay far away from it. We all try to avoid trouble, why can’t you understand this?"

Gu Ling simply nodded, understanding Gu Fan had their best interests at heart.

"Alright, it’s getting late. I’m going to head back to my dorm. You two should also head home. Don’t forget, we have school tomorrow." After saying his goodbyes, Jie quickly left, almost as if he was fleeing.

Jie wondered why both siblings ended up dragging him into their adventures. They were quite a duo indeed.

Either way, Gu Fan quickly led Gu Ling home, with an unsettling feeling that their peaceful days were about to end soon.
