Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 321: Night Raid

Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Night Raid

The stormy weather and extreme harsh survival condition was wearing everyone down. The people Lin Xi had brought were ordinary people with no experience in mountain climbing, and now, pushing them to this point, many of them were reaching their limits.

Their current shelter from the storm consisted of a dozen large tents. Everyone huddled inside to avoid the cold, trembling from the chill. If it weren’t for their obsession with eternal youth, they would have given up long ago.

However, even under such terrible conditions, a dozen people had to come out for the night watch. They wore goggles and thick cold-weather gear, moving around to keep their bodies warm.

One of the watchmen, out of urgent necessity, chose to relieve himself with his back to the blizzard. However, he heard something in the howling wind—was that the breathing of a beast?

He peered into the blizzard, the goggles partially obscured by windblown snow. When he wiped away the snow from his goggles, he recoiled in terror as a nearly three-meter tall, snow-white monster that resembled a Yeti stood in front of him.

With a terrifying roar, the snow monster punched the screaming man, silencing him instantly.

At this moment, Lin Xi was inside her tent studying the map. She refused to believe that the information given was so limited. If they couldn’t solve the puzzle, they could end up circling Yuxueyun Mountain for half a year.

Qin Jia wanted to advise Lin Xi to rest, but the sudden sound of shouts outside made her realize that something had gone wrong.

Lin Xi and Qin Jia rushed out to see snow monsters of unknown origin attacking their group. The monsters were enormous and muscular, their strength terrifying.

"What in the world are these things?" Qin Jia was scared and hid behind Lin Xi.

Lin Xi looked at the monsters, unperturbed. She had seen all types of strange and terrifying creatures in her past life and didn’t consider these snow monsters a threat. What she couldn’t understand was why her group was being attacked.

Seeing a snow monster chasing after five people, Lin Xi extended her hand and released her Qi. Instantly the beast was thrown backward, howling in agony as it was sent flying.

"Stay close behind me; don’t wander off," Lin Xi said as she strode forward, pulling Qin Jia by the hand.

It was night, and the blizzard created an ideal condition for the monsters to attack. They had better vision in the dark and took full advantage of it, often leaping out of the darkness, catching the group off-guard.

The commotion was so great that Du Jun, the people of the ancient town, and Luo Jingrong with his bodyguards all stormed out. Though they now outnumbered the monsters, their courage failed them at the sight of these creatures, and many scattered and ran.

Lin Xi used her supernatural power to knock back a snow monster that was trying to sneak upon her from behind. With a swift movement of her hand, she drew a deep line in the ground and declared coldly, "Everyone, return to your place. These mere snow monsters cannot block our path."

Watching Lin Xi’s raging power gave everyone the confidence to fight. They charged toward the snow monsters, their electric batons and guns at the ready.

However, due to the snowstorm, the accuracy of the electric guns was compromised. Several shots missed, and instead, a snow monster counterattacked, sending several people flying with a punch.

Left with no other choice, they gathered their courage and swarmed the snow monsters. Ten or so people managed to subdue one beast, pummeling it with their electric batons.

With one beast momentarily down, they barely had time to celebrate before another monster came to its rescue. Its deafening roar and forceful punches made people fall like dominos. There was an absolute difference in their sizes and strength.

Du Jun, Du Changhui, and Luo Jingrong all ran over to Lin Xi, feeling that staying close to her was the safest option.

Lin Xi surveyed the surroundings. The darkness was working against them, so she shouted, "Everyone, stay calm, maintain formation, and rely on each other. Use your flashlights to find these creatures in the dark." Despite the ongoing blizzard, Lin Xi’s voice reached everyone.

Upon hearing her, everyone regained their composure. They picked up their dropped flashlights and quickly began illuminating the area.

Initially, with their flashlights pointing in random directions, they struggled to spot monsters hidden in the dark and the storm, but now with everyone working in unison, the darkness no longer favored the snow monsters. The flashlights illuminated them and, enraged, they charged forward.

A snow monster, blinded by anger, charged at Lin Xi. She extended her hand, and an invisible Qi brought the monster to a halt.

The snow monster made a disturbing noise, as if its neck was being strangled by an invisible force. Following a twist of Lin Xi’s arm, the beast’s neck was twisted and snapped.

"Damn, that’s incredible." Luo Jingrong remarked, but before he could finish praising Lin Xi, he saw his bodyguards being chased and beaten by the snow monsters. Several of them had been flattened which scared Luo Jingrong— he hadn’t anticipated facing such danger on this journey.

Du Jun said, "Lin Xi, we need to come up with a solution quickly. We can’t afford to lose more people."

"I know." Lin Xi closed her eyes, sensing the surroundings, quickly identifying several snow monsters wreaking havoc nearby.

"Alright, follow me." Under Lin Xi’s leadership, Du Jun and the others concentrated their efforts. They fought back every snow monster they saw. In these harsh conditions, they tenaciously combated this terrifying foe.

But these snow monsters were tough. Even hit by Lin Xi’s Qi-powered blasts and sent flying far away, they would soon return and attack again.

"Damn!" Lin Xi, cornered, snapped yet another snow monster’s neck with the same method, but breaking its neck required a large consumption of her Qi power.

Roaring with insatiable anger, the snow monsters were fearless. Their punches made the ground quiver and they could easily turn a human into pulp.

Just then, one monster lifted a massive boulder over its head and hurled it directly at Lin Xi.

"Oh, my God!" By the time Lin Xi noticed, it was too late. In a hurry, she exerted her Qi to form a Qi Wall. While the wall blocked the boulder, the impact sent Lin Xi flying back. She felt dizzy and ill.

Seeing this, everyone panicked. Even Lin Xi, their last hope, was nearly hit.
