Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 219: The Authenticity of the Blueprint

Chapter 219: Chapter 219: The Authenticity of the Blueprint

On this day, a cargo plane landed and one after another, items were loaded onto trucks. They were all said to be Luo Jingrong’s belongings, shipped in from abroad, including many valuable paintings and calligraphy. It seemed he planned to settle in this city for good.

Leng Le already knew about this cargo plane loaded with Luo Jingrong’s goods. She guessed that Luo Jingrong had gone through great lengths to transport so many items in order to camouflage the half portion of the blueprint.

Since Luo Jingrong employed a highly prized foreign freight company, Leng Le’s people couldn’t infiltrate and inspect every item discreetly. And they had no idea where that important half blueprint was hiding.

On the other side of the airport, two vans stood watch, with Hai and another group observing. He turned and asked, "How about it, Sister Leng? Should we stage a robbery?"

Leng Le immediately rejected the idea: "Firstly, even if we managed to win, we would have to unpack every item one by one which would be too time-consuming. Secondly, the ruckus we’d be causing would be too great. The boss said we should keep a low profile."

"So, we’re just going to stand by and watch Luo Jingrong walk away with the stuff and meet up with Lin Xi?" Hai sounded worried, fearing that they might not have time to stop them.

But Leng Le wasn’t concerned: "That might be for the best. Once they put the pieces together, we could take everything at once, saving us a lot of effort."

Hai didn’t share her optimism: "I’m afraid by then, Lin Xi might come up with some cunning plan, and we’ll never recover the complete blueprint."

"What’s the rush? Even if they get the complete blueprint, they still lack a few pieces," Leng Le seemed very confident, and instructed Hai to keep a close watch and act accordingly.

Soon, truckload after truckload of goods had been delivered to Luo Jingrong. Lin Xi, Du Changhui, and Du Jun arrived too. They were curious to see what the other half of the blueprint looked like.

For safety, Luo Jingrong arranged the meeting in a secret basement and secured ten trustworthy guards, each highly skilled, to ensure that anyone who tried to steal from them would fail.

However, when Luo Jingrong saw Lin Xi, Du Changhui, and Du Jun arrive empty-handed, he couldn’t hide his disappointment: "I’ve brought my stuff, where’s yours?"

"Don’t worry, we’re not here to rob you." Lin Xi smiled cryptically and added, "I think there are people who would love for us to bring the complete blueprint here only for them to seize it all at once."

Upon hearing this, Luo Jingrong understood: "That could be a reason. But if you’re not prepared to reveal yours, I won’t show mine."

Lin Xi continued: "Let’s clarify one thing – Before figuring out the next move, we will never bring both parts of the blueprint to one place. I believe you’re in agreement with this idea."

Luo Jingrong nodded, "Alright, I can agree to that. So, what’s next?"

Du Changhui interrupted: "We’ll first verify the authenticity of your blueprint, then you can come over and verify ours."

"Why make it so complicated?" Luo Jingrong was a bit annoyed.

Lin Xi shook his head: "Caution is necessary. That devil is always watching. If we make a wrong move, we’ll lose everything."

"So, only after you confirm the authenticity of my blueprint and I confirm the authenticity of yours, can we start truly cooperating and planning," Luo Jingrong began to accept their proposal, albeit reluctantly: "But why is it that you verify mine first, not the other way around?"

Lin Xi smiled slightly: "Since Boss Luo has objections, let’s communicate thoroughly and find a solution that is satisfactory to all."

Luo Jingrong nodded: "I have a good idea. We simultaneously verify the authenticity of each other’s blueprints in different locations. How about that?"

"That’s a good suggestion. I can tell Boss Luo the location where the blueprint is hidden, and you can go and check it yourself." After saying this, Lin Xi sent a message to Luo Jingrong’s phone.

After Luo Jingrong read the message, his face subtly changed: "Why? Why did you place it there?"

Lin Xi replied: "Firstly, I trust him to keep it safe. Secondly, I know that he seems to have some old ties with Boss Luo. If Boss Luo goes to see him under the guise of expressing gratitude for saving his life, no one should suspect anything."

"You really have thought this through, haven’t you?" Luo Jingrong remarked, a cryptic smile on his face. He then handed Lin Xi a long box.

Lin Xi took it and examined it carefully with Du Changhui for a while before she came to a conclusion. "It’s authentic and validates our speculation. We must piece these two maps together to find the method for eternal youth."

Lin Xi then returned the map to Luo Jingrong, demonstrating no intention of seizing it. However, to mislead others, she took away a long, rectangular box when she left.

Hai, who was monitoring from the outside, was horrified when he saw Lin Xi emerge from Luo Jingrong’s office with a long rectangular box. He rushed to report this.

Leng Le couldn’t believe it when she heard, "No way, Luo Jingrong is so generous and trusting of Lin Xi that he hands it over so easily."

Hai replied, "I saw Luo Jingrong sending Lin Xi, Du Changhui, and Du Jun off. He looked relaxed, and they even shook hands before parting, which indicates that they have reached some agreement. Now Lin Xi has both maps."

Leng Le nodded, "In that case, all we need to do now is to keep an eye on Lin Xi. She won’t be able to resist piecing the two maps together once she gets home. We can seize it then."

"Alright, I will gather the subordinates. But since Lin Xi is powerful, I think it’s better if the boss steps in." Hai voiced out hesitantly, looking instable.

"Don’t worry. The boss will definitely handle such a crucial matter personally. All you need to do is follow orders." After saying this, Leng Le hung up the call, feeling a secret delight. She had thought they would have to wait for a while before they got the chance to snatch it. But she hadn’t imagined that Lin Xi would be so eager.

Lin Xi had her plans though. She looked at the scenery outside the car window, a smile playing on her lips as if she was anticipating something.

On their way back, Du Jun was still skeptical and couldn’t help but raise doubt. "Not that I am questioning you, Lin Xi. But there’s already a risk letting Gu Fan guard such an important object. What if Luo Jingrong forcefully seizes the map from Gu Fan?"

Without needing Lin Xi to explain, Du Changhui replied with a smile, "Luo Jingrong is no fool. He understands the wisdom of ’An innocent man gets into trouble because of his wealth.’ If he forcibly seizes the map that Gu Fan’s guarding, he’ll have the complete map, which would inevitably bring him deadly disaster. Neither Lin Xi nor that demon would let him go."

Having heard this, Du Jun understood, "Luo Jingrong realizes that collaboration with us is his only way out, so he won’t likely force a seizure."

"That’s right. Every time the demon is mentioned, Luo Jingrong behaves unnaturally. He fears more than anyone else." With that, Lin Xi weighed the long box in her hand and said, "We’ve helped Luo Jingrong divert all attention. He should appreciate us instead of doing something stupid. If he does act foolishly, we better not work with him anymore to avoid being dragged down by his stupidity."

With an enlightened expression, Du Jun exclaimed, "I got it. Informing Luo Jingrong of the whereabouts of the other map was actually a test for Luo Jingrong."

"You could say that." As Lin Xi responded, she looked into the rearview mirror and saw a tailing van. She couldn’t help but burst into laughter. "I knew they wouldn’t give up so easily. And here they are."

The driver, Du Jun, quickly responded, "What do you want me to do? Should I speed up to throw them off our trail?"

"That’s not necessary." After saying this, Lin Xi took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and started to activate her supernatural power.

In the rear, Hai’s car had been following Lin Xi’s vehicle at a normal speed. As they were driving along, a strong impact hit them head-on, like a blast of furious wind. It flipped the car Hai was in.

"Oh my God, is this for real?" Hai felt dizzy from the sudden flip, followed by the impactful landing. He was very uncomfortable.

The van rolled and hit the ground hard, dust swirling. After a while, Hai crawled out of the car, dizzy and unsteady on his feet, his head humming with noise.

It took a while for Hai to collect himself. He sighed, "This is way too much. It seems that only the boss can match Lin Xi. It’s just too much for anyone else."

With no alternative, Hai had to call Leng Le and inform her about losing track of Lin Xi. Instead, he heard the boss’s voice on the other end.

"Hai, don’t bother following. I bet the box Qian Ye is holding is empty. She won’t be that foolish to piece the two maps together so quickly. She wants to lure me out for a snatch, which would make me fall into her trap." The boss’s words were like orders, Hai had to act accordingly.

When the boss hung up, Leng Le had a different view, "What if Lin Xi and Luo Jingrong swapped the maps? So, Lin Xi took the one from Luo Jingrong, and Luo Jingrong took Lin Xi’s."

"What’s the significance of doing that? Plus, half of the map has no value if they’re separated." The boss replied coldly, "The complete map records the method of achieving immortality- where to perform the ritual, what type of sacrifices to look for, which time to select, which mantra to chant, what Magical Array to draw, and how to refine the elixir. More importantly, only when the complete map is pieced together can we find the origin of the Eternal Life Clan, where the successful refinement of the elixir of eternal life exists."

Leng Le’s expression changed slightly. She had heard from the boss before that the process of refining the elixir of eternal life was very complex, and any mistake in any step would result in failure. Above all, the location of the refinement was the biggest problem.
