Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1518: Finally Rebelling

Chapter 1518: Chapter 1518: Finally Rebelling

Helen, even as a member of Organization X, even situated within an enemy camp, never gave up on Gu Fan, and Gu Fan never gave up on Helen either. Is this what it means to stand by family, is this kinship thicker than water?

Because of family ties, Xue Meng could spare Xue Lang, and because of family, Xue Meng could come to accept their most hated vampire as a relative.

However, the final outcomes were at two extremes: Gu Fan proved that Helen’s perseverance was worth it, while the case with Xue Lang was quite the opposite.

It was in such circumstances that Xue Lang became increasingly convinced of Gu Fan and Helen, and a feeling of resistance towards Organization X began to grow within him.

Xue Lang had an epiphany, realizing that over the extensive years, he got everything he wanted without caring about losing anything, yet he inadvertently lost his capacity for emotion.

That true sense of being forgiven, of being accepted, cannot be attained through time or personal effort alone.

"I had the opportunity to rediscover my emotions, but sadly I missed it," lamented Xue Lang, quickening his pace to continue on his way.

On the way to the rendezvous point, Xue Lang encountered another vampire, who was also heeding the call, knowing fully well the perilous odds yet still stiffening his resolve to return.

The other vampire saw Xue Lang and approached him, his expression somewhat fearful: "What do we do, Xue Lang? If we go back to fight the enemy, I’m afraid we might not escape..."

"I’m aware of the danger, but it’s an order," Xue Lang slowed his pace, he didn’t want to go, but had no choice—he was worried about Organization X pursuing his actions of cowardice afterward.

Take a gamble? Xue Lang felt that Gu Fan could defeat Organization X, causing its complete disintegration and leaving it powerless to hold anyone accountable.

The other vampire looked around, making sure there was no one else nearby, then whispered, "Xue Lang, do you think Organization X will lose?"

Xue Lang replied, "I don’t know, but both you and I are aware of the strength of Organization X. Do you believe it can be defeated?"

The other vampire shook his head, "I didn’t believe it before, but after so many events, I’m starting to waver. This Gu Fan is really too surprising; it seems that no matter what Organization X does, they can’t handle him."

Having encountered Gu Fan many times, Xue Lang truly couldn’t believe that such a person exists in this world, beyond all reason, almost like Gu Fan is Organization X’s nemesis—causing them to be disheveled every single time.

The other vampire cautiously added, "If possible, I actually hope Gu Fan wins."

Hearing this, Xue Lang was not at all surprised; many vampires wished to break free from Organization X’s control and seek freedom. Yet, at the same time, they feared that without the protection of Organization X, they would fall prey to enemies outside.

"Xue Lang, you must be aware of the things Organization X has done," said the other vampire with a solemn expression, as if reluctant to bring up those matters.

Xue Lang frowned, knowing what the other intended to say, and sighed, "Are you worried that Organization X will regain the underground laboratory and restart the experiments?"

The other vampire showed an angry expression, "Of course. For a Xue Clan to be built on the lives of so many of us vampires, it’s despicable that Organization X could commit such deeds, as if they really don’t consider us vampires to be of any importance. In the eyes of the Xue Clan, we’re cheap, they can dispose of us vampires at will—why shouldn’t we be able to dispose of them just as freely?"

"In my heart, my life is worth more than the so-called noble Xue Clan," another vampire grew angrier as he spoke, and his words resonated with Xue Lang, indeed, if you lack benevolence, I lack righteousness, don’t blame me for leaving you in a crisis.

"What do you say, Xue Lang, let’s rebel. As long as we unite more people, we can survive even without the protection of Organization X." This suggestion instantly solidified Xue Lang’s rebellious heart even further, thinking to himself, why must we rely on Organization X, vampires united can achieve this too.

But upon closer thought, Xue Lang shook his head. He knew too well how Organization X operates; they absolutely wouldn’t allow vampires to break away and regroup. If more vampires followed suit, it would be a significant loss for Organization X.

Organization X would certainly view deserting vampires as rebels and would eradicate them entirely as a warning to others. As long as Organization X exists, vampires can never dream of leaving the organization.

The other vampire also knew this and showed a sinister expression: "What if we can help Gu Fan win the final victory and completely annihilate Organization X?"

"You’re crazy," Xue Lang scolded. "Do you realize, without Organization X, we vampires, united or not, are a disorganized crowd, how could we withstand the hunt from the Hunter’s Guild?"

The other vampire roared in anger: "What, just because we aren’t killed by the Hunter’s Guild, we get to live? Don’t joke, we will become victims for the Xue Clan to gain stronger vitality, what’s the difference? The difference is, at least we have a chance to gamble."

Hearing this, Xue Lang was stunned, indeed, that was the case.

After weighing the options, Xue Lang saw the other vampire’s hopeful look and knew it was time to make up his mind and go all out for a fight.

"That’s right!" The other vampire was pleased. Among the vampires, Xue Lang had a senior status, which meant he had more influence to recruit more vampires.

At this moment, several more vampires rushed over, they were of course following Helen’s call to the gathering place.

When those vampires saw Xue Lang, they immediately showed a respectful attitude.

Xue Lang gave a nod, greeted them, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, suddenly feeling that there was a significant chance of success in this endeavor.

The vampires were somewhat puzzled, feeling that Xue Lang was not in a rush to get to the gathering place, so they kindly reminded him that the situation was urgent and being late might lead to severe punishment.

Suddenly Helen’s voice urging everyone to assemble sounded once more on the walkie-talkie; moreover, Xue Dong had already arrived at the gathering place very irate and didn’t want to wait any longer.

After hearing this, all the vampires showed an anxious look, fearing serious consequences if they were late.

Just as those vampires were about to rush out, Xue Lang stopped them by grabbing their shoulders, forcibly halting them.

"What’s this about?" The vampires showed a questioning look.

Xue Lang signaled no rush, stating he had something important to tell them, it wouldn’t be too late to go after he had finished speaking.
