Chapter 1484: Another Sword Master
Chapter 1484: Chapter 1484: Another Sword Master
At the alleys and streets of Dark City, the hunter was moving at high speed, darting from one side to another. Occasionally, when pursued too closely, he would duck into a building, making it impossible for his pursuers to find him.
Panting heavily, the hunter regained some strength, and sometimes he was bold enough to simply sit cross-legged and regulate his breathing.
But there were too many vampires; they quickly discovered the hunter, thinking they had found an opportunity, and immediately leaped at him to bite.
The hunter wouldn’t expose such a big flaw; he didn’t need to do anything, as his treasured sword automatically flew out, clearing away all the vampires daring to approach him.
Three vampires had just charged over when suddenly, flashes of cold light swept the area, chopping off their hands and legs, their eyes filled with extreme terror.
"Come quickly, the hunter is here," shouted the vampires, calling for more of their kind.
With a bang, seven vampires burst into the building, some smashing through walls, others through windows; they coordinated their movements, attacking from several directions.
Faced with the imminent threat, the hunter finished his breath regulation. Opening his eyes, his gaze was like a sword unsheathed, every pore releasing incredibly sharp Jian Qi.
"What?" The seven vampires, under the pressure of thousands of Jian Qi, felt as if they were being diced, their agony indescribable, and were all blown away.
"Sorry to disappoint you," the hunter summoned his treasured sword to his hand and then used it to break through the wall. The explosion of Jian Qi sent debris flying in all directions.
Outside, many vampires were tightly organized, but they were battered by the flying debris, their screams filling the air, and their formation broke.
Seizing the opportunity, the hunter swung his treasured sword, charging into the enemy, striking like lightning bolts. He thrust more than ten times, Jian Qi rampaged, and those vampires at the front bore the brunt, chopped into pieces.
Originally, the vampires had organized their ranks to charge and eliminate the hunter, but now their formation was entirely disrupted, and they were forced into a disheveled retreat.
"Don’t panic, don’t panic, it’s just one person, and we have hundreds," a vampire shouted, trying to regroup. However, he successfully drew the hunter’s attention and was sliced in two with one strike.
These were vampire warriors, not so easily defeated, more than a hundred gathered with enough force to eradicate the hunter.
Regrettably, the sky was swarming with vampire bats, harassing the vampire warriors, causing great annoyance and hindering their effective assault.
The vampire warriors didn’t understand. Weren’t these vampire bats under Ye Yue’s control? Why were they attacking their own?
The hunter wasn’t sure what was happening either, but now seizing the chance to break through, he swung his treasured sword, slicing through the crowd, sending vampire heads and limbs flying.
"Block him, don’t let him escape!" There were many vampire warriors, quick to act, they began closing in on the hunter.
However, many vampire warriors thought, since there were so many of us, why should I bother? Let others take the lead. So, some vampire warriors started to slow down, gradually falling behind.
The hunter clearly felt the resistance ahead weaken a lot. He hardened his heart and a burst of Jian Qi erupted, directly blasting away all obstacles ahead.
"This is bad!" The vampires saw the hunter unstoppable, about to break through, and suddenly became very anxious.
At the critical moment, a figure suddenly flashed around the corner of the street, rushing towards the hunter with an unstoppable Jian Qi following swiftly behind.
"Amazing, a true master!" The hunter swiftly swung his sword to block, resulting in a clang as the two precious swords firmly collided.
The clash of their Jian Qi erupted with astonishing force, blowing away the approaching vampire warriors, causing severely damaged buildings around them to collapse amidst a cloud of dust.
After a head-on confrontation, both the hunter and his opponent each took three steps back, proving to be evenly matched.
"Not bad at all!" The newcomer’s eyes and brows hinted at his unruly spirit, then pointing his sword at the hunter, he said lightly: "I heard that after I left the Hunter’s Guild, the Guild’s strength hasn’t decreased but increased, all due to you joining."
The hunter furrowed his brows, feeling his arms trembling slightly; and he remembered what Irina had once told him about that person.
Long before the hunter joined the Hunter’s Guild, there was another sword expert known as Lie Kong.
This Lie Kong was something else – he loved seeking thrills, particularly challenging himself with difficult tasks, and had hunted at least a thousand vampires. Consequently, he drew the attention of Organization X.
During another operation, Lie Kong, together with many of the Hunter’s Guild’s elites, attempted to assassinate a key figure in Organization X. The mission failed, and only one gunman survived and returned.
Since the gunman was stationed outside during the ambush, he narrowly escaped death and relayed what had transpired to the Hunter’s Guild.
That mission was supposed to be secretive, but Organization X was well-prepared and captured all the Guild’s elites, and the informant turned out to be Lie Kong.
"If I’m not mistaken, you’re that traitor," the hunter said bluntly, disliking being pointed at with a sword.
Lie Kong’s lips slightly curled up: "Well, every man for himself, I’ve served the Hunter’s Guild for so long and got nothing in return; why should I fight and die, for that laughable notion of justice?"
"Justice is not laughable; it’s tragic if nobody upholds it," the hunter retorted, pointing his sword at Lie Kong, ready to deal with the traitor.
Lie Kong laughed again: "You’ve also left the Hunter’s Guild; you must see some of their actions as I do – those fools are not worth serving."
"Don’t compare me to you; I merely left, and you’ve betrayed. I may disapprove of the Hunter’s Guild, but I despise Organization X even more," the hunter’s expression grew more intense, he warned sharply, "Move aside, or I won’t be polite."
"A worthy opponent is hard to find. I’m curious, between us who is truly the greatest sword master in the history of the Hunter’s Guild." Having said that, Lie Kong’s eyes gradually filled with a murderous intent, signaling an inevitable battle.
Knowing there was no escape, the hunter braced himself for the fight, ever vigilant of his surroundings.
The surrounding vampires gathered, watching the standoff between the two sword masters.
"It’s all on you, Lie Kong, take him down," the vampires were thrilled, with Lie Kong handling the hunter, they wouldn’t need to lift a finger. Even if Lie Kong were to fall, they believed the hunter would be gravely wounded by then, allowing the vampires an opportunity to strike.
Why not seize the chance to watch from the sidelines and benefit from their battle?
