Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared -
Chapter 1254: Ambush on the Way
Chapter 1254: Chapter 1254: Ambush on the Way
A vampire warrior was shooting when suddenly something rushed in from the side. The vampire warrior immediately stopped shooting and put all his effort into guarding against the incoming enemy.
Gu Fan saw how tensed the vampire’s body was. He let out a low growl and then delivered a flying kick.
The vampire warrior took Gu Fan’s kick head-on, feeling the great force and heaviness. The vampire warrior became somewhat unsteady, inwardly sighing, wondering who this person was, and why he was so strong.
After the kick, Gu Fan didn’t continue his attack. Instead, he chose a direction and ran off, leaving the vampire warrior puzzled. Since he came to challenge, why did he leave after just one strike?
After Gu Fan had left, more vampire warriors followed his trail and arrived at the scene, their eyes blazing with fury, seemingly eager to kill Gu Fan once and for all.
Gu Fan’s strategy was to head towards the sound of gunfire, continuously disrupting and moving, breaking the vampire warriors’ frequency of shooting. Sometimes, Gu Fan would rush over and with a punch, shatter a gun.
In this way, with Gu Fan’s continuous running, the vampire warriors on the south bank couldn’t freely shoot. Some even got annoyed; they abandoned their attack on the mercenaries at the River of Survival and joined the team chasing after Gu Fan.
"Kid, don’t think you can challenge us just because you have some skills. You are just one person." A vampire warrior caught up with Gu Fan. He tackled Gu Fan to the ground, opened his fanged mouth, and then bit down towards Gu Fan’s neck.
However, Gu Fan had Vajra Body Protection. The vampire warrior’s fangs directly collapsed, causing him intense pain.
"Don’t be so kind. I forgot to tell you, I’m tough-skinned and fleshed. I doubt you can bite through." Gu Fan turned and delivered an elbow strike that hit the vampire warrior on the forehead, causing his eyes to see stars. Then, Gu Fan pierced the vampire’s heart with a wooden spike.
The other vampire warriors who had caught up were shocked, never expecting Gu Fan to have such ability. However, relying on their numbers, they still didn’t take Gu Fan seriously.
In the past, even when facing a dozen ordinary vampires, Gu Fan had to flee. Now, he was facing elite vampire warriors and knew very well that he couldn’t defeat them.
Perhaps early on, he could take advantage of the enemy’s underestimation to eliminate a few, but later on, when the enemies got serious, it was difficult for Gu Fan to find such opportunities again.
The situation now was terrible. The vampire warriors had surrounded Gu Fan and without any courtesy, they launched a fierce attack.
"You are the one who killed several of our comrades with this wooden spike." A vampire warrior rushed over, grabbed Gu Fan’s arm, and snatched the wooden spike from his hand.
Weaponless, Gu Fan became desperate. He headbutted the vampire warrior’s forehead, creating a collision as fiery as a meteor hitting the earth.
"You brat, just give up." The vampire warrior became ruthless, returning a more fierce headbutt to Gu Fan. This time, it was Gu Fan’s turn to see stars, his head swelling with pain.
The other vampires also rushed over, kicking and punching, knocking Gu Fan down.
"My heavens, so painful." Gu Fan was beaten until he completely lost direction. Before he could recover, several vampire warriors stomped down on him, each stomp faster and heavier than the last, trampling over him like a myriad of troops thundering across.
Gu Fan lay on the ground, his body curled up, his arms protecting his head, relying on Vajra Body Protection to withstand the fierce onslaught of the opponent.
"Impressive, much more formidable than regular vampires," Gu Fan knew he couldn’t defeat them alone and could only hope that the time he bought for Lin Xi and the others would be of some use.
Just when Gu Fan was being overwhelmed with no power to fight back, gunshots suddenly rang out. Wooden bullets pierced through the bodies of the vampire warriors, some piercing their hearts and falling straight down, while others, hit in the limbs, sat down hard on the ground.
"Take them out!" A group in uniforms of a regular army emerged from nowhere. They had just happened to pass by and saw a group of vampire warriors attacking a man. They hid in the shadows and shot, catching the vampire warriors by surprise.
"Don’t kill me, don’t kill me!" A few vampire warriors, injured in the limbs and unable to move, lay on the ground begging for mercy, but no one was going to forgive them. One shot each, all were killed on the spot.
The crisis was over. Gu Fan lay on the ground, gasping heavily. If it hadn’t been for these regular troops intervening, he might not have lasted much longer.
A soldier approached, asking with concern, "Are you alright?"
"I can still hold on, but my companions..." Gu Fan, still hearing a lot of gunfire, knew that Lin Xi and the others on the River of Survival were still being suppressed.
Worried about the safety of his companions, Gu Fan rested only briefly before immediately getting up and rushing toward the source of the gunfire.
The soldiers looked on in surprise. "Impossible, beaten by vampire warriors like that, not only is he alive, but he also seems not to have suffered any serious injuries."
"This guy is no ordinary person, let’s follow and see," the captain suggested, but someone opposed, "Forget it, captain, let’s get out of here quickly and avoid attracting more attention from vampires."
"This..." Just as the captain hesitated, a vampire warrior was blasted their way, slamming heavily into the ground.
Not only that, as Gu Fan walked, he also engaged with a vampire warrior. After a few rounds of hand-to-hand combat, Gu Fan punched the warrior in the jaw, sending him flying off the ground.
The soldiers watched as Gu Fan, expending what seemed like a Herculean effort, finally took down two vampire warriors. Despite appearing exhausted, shaky on his feet, and almost collapsing, the soldiers looked at Gu Fan as if he were a monster.
"Did I just see that wrong, did this guy actually defeat vampires?" one soldier questioned in disbelief while others also expressed their astonishmen,t "If you saw wrong, then so did I."
There stood Gu Fan, his body slightly bent, gasping for air. He was really too tired and almost couldn’t hold on. Yet, the wails coming from the direction of the River of Survival urged him to move quickly.
Suddenly, Gu Fan noticed the regular army soldiers staring dumbfounded and thus he pleaded, "We’re all in the same situation now, so could you please do me a favor?"
"You want us to help you fight those vampires?" the captain hesitated, then made a decision, "We can help you, but you also help us escape."
"Deal," Gu Fan said with a smile, tired but unable to hide his excitement. The presence of these people gave him hope for victory.
