Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: Flock of Birds Flying High

Just as the armed helicopters were sweeping the ground, suddenly a flock of birds flew out of the woods ahead. At first, they didn’t pay much attention, but as time went on, more and more birds appeared, gathering into a mass.

Among the blood-sucking creatures were birds, thousands of which took flight, emitting strange cries in unison, their sharp voices causing tingles on the scalp.

Under the lead of a few at the forefront, the blood-sucking birds formed a long line and then charged towards the armed helicopters with all their might.

"Fire, fire now," the crews in the armed helicopters realized the danger and quickly aimed their guns at the approaching blood-sucking birds. The intense gunfire shattered the blood-sucking birds, wooden bullets obliterating their hearts and leaving nothing behind.

Finding it impossible to penetrate the fierce gunfire head-on, the blood-sucking birds split into two groups, attacking from both left and right sides.

At that moment, everyone aboard the armed helicopters felt despair, their movements no matter how fast, could only deal with the blood-sucking birds coming from one direction.

The general looked up at all this and knew that once the armed helicopters were taken down, the people in the entire camp would be the next to suffer. So he immediately ordered his men to fire into the sky.

The ground defenses had to divert some of their firepower to shoot at the blood-sucking birds in the sky fiercely, the bullets flying from the ground to the sky like raindrops, scattering the clustered birds.

Human firepower was too intense, especially when the blood-sucking birds gathered together, making them easier targets. In no time, countless pieces of bird flesh and limbs fell from the sky.

So the blood-sucking birds scattered, then dove one by one at astonishing speeds, instantly attacking before using their claws and sharp beaks to strike at the mercenaries.

The mercenaries’ weapons were now of little use; bullets flew but missed the blood-sucking birds, then they found themselves under assault by a blood-sucking bird right on their faces, their faces instantly covered in wounds, wailing in agony.

As the blood-sucking birds rampaged through the camp, relentlessly attacking the mercenaries, the soldiers on the ground fell into utter chaos, as they had to fend off both the charging blood-sucking creatures and the diving birds.

Cries of distress continuously rose, and many mercenaries were in dire straits. Some had their eyes pecked out by the birds, others had their throats pierced, and the most tragic was a mercenary attacked by a dozen blood-sucking birds, his flesh and blood blurred in an instant.

One side of the position suffered a fierce attack from the blood-sucking birds, covered in wounds, completely unable to maintain the defense line.

Some other blood-sucking creatures took this as a breakthrough, breaking into the camp, massive blood-sucking snakes, and ferocious blood-sucking tigers threw themselves at whatever they saw, tearing flesh and blood, thirstily drinking blood.

Many people urged the general, seeing the situation was hopeless, to quickly order a dispersal and breakthrough.

But the general shook his head, the entire camp was encircled, where could they flee to? Even if they somehow escaped, how long could they last in the Dark Primitive Mountain forest full of blood-sucking creatures.

The sky was filled with countless blood-sucking birds constantly diving down to harass, and on the ground, like a tide, surged an onslaught of blood-sucking creatures. It was over, everything was over.

It was at this moment that a massive blood-sucking snake fell, its huge body making a thunderous noise that stunned everyone.

"What are you waiting for, if you don’t want to die, follow me," Su Hui said as she picked up her gun and charged forward. Bravely moving straight ahead, she aimed and fired at the blood-sucking creatures along the way.

What vampire tigers? A single shot took them down. What vampire rabbits? One kick sent them flying. Even the vampire birds that dived down at high speeds would be split in two by a sharp wooden stake.

Su Hui’s dominant performance undoubtedly ignited everyone’s fighting spirit, and many people started moving towards Su Hui, following her to block that breach.

Many vampire creatures had just poured in through the gap in the defenses and were embarrassingly beaten back by countless wooden bullets, with many howling in pain and collapsing to the ground.

Under Su Hui’s lead, everyone marched forward with large strides, wildly firing their guns. All the wooden bullets converged like a flood, colliding with the incoming vampire creatures.

As the vampire creatures at the front fell, those behind continued to press on, desperately surging forward.

"Charge, we must block the breach," Su Hui called out, attracting more people; the firepower intensified, gradually suppressing the vampire creatures and preventing them from continuing to flood into the camp.

As Su Hui fired her gun and advanced, her bullets never missed their mark, and countless vampire creatures fell before her, completely halting their offensive at the breach.

With angry roars, the vampire creatures, fearless of death, kept advancing incessantly, refusing to take a single step back. Only ten steps away, Su Hui’s weapon was nearly touching those vampire creatures.

At the end of the struggle, when Su Hui had run out of bullets, she simply drew a wooden stake and engaged in combat with her formidable martial skills.

Although a few vampire creatures were strong, they were no match for Su Hui and were quickly dispatched. Her actions once again boosted morale, and everyone pushed forward together with renewed effort.

The fight at the breach was so intense that the corpses of vampire creatures had piled up into a small hill.

The mercenaries didn’t hesitate and began climbing it to gain the high ground. But as soon as they reached the top, they saw several massive beings appear.

Several vampire gorillas emerged, punching two mercenaries into the air and then roaring fiercely, their presence both ferocious and imposing.

A fierce glint flashed in Su Hui’s eyes, and then I clenched the wooden stake in my hand and rushed forward.

A vampire gorilla roared thunderously, swinging its fist towards Su Hui with the force and speed that could destroy an armored vehicle.

Before the shocked eyes of everyone, Su Hui caught the vampire gorilla’s fist with one hand and then flipped it over her shoulder to the ground. With another kick, she sent the vampire gorilla flying, but her aim was slightly off, kicking it into the camp.

"My apologies!" Su Hui said, sticking out her tongue a bit apologetically. However, she quickly turned her attention back to the battlefield, noting that more vampire gorillas were climbing over the corpse-strewn hill, crossing the breach, and rushing into the crowd.

The previous fighting had been so fierce that many people had run out of bullets and were now fighting the vampire gorillas with wooden stakes. But how could the strength of mere mortals ever match that of vampire gorillas?

The mercenaries were either punched away, stomped underfoot, or even bitten on the neck with a chunk of flesh torn away, screaming in agony.
