Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1212: Many Mercenaries

Chapter 1212: Chapter 1212: Many Mercenaries

Three days later, this small town was bustling with activity due to the generous rewards, as mercenaries from various places had gathered, with three teams alone in this little town, in addition to those from other towns.

A team of twenty mercenaries checked into the same inn as Gu Fan, bringing with them numerous pieces of sophisticated equipment. They were known as one of the top ten mercenary groups in the world, called Lightning Mercenary Corp.

Lu Yi, looking at these mercenaries’ robust muscles, couldn’t help feeling envious, "Having a resounding name is really nice. We should also give our team a catchy name."

Gu Fan, however, focused on the crucial point, "Though these mercenaries appear well-trained and well-equipped, facing those creatures, I fear..."

Irina also added, "That’s right, but some mercenaries have a good relationship with our Hunter’s Guild. They know about the existence of vampires and have encountered them during missions, so you don’t need to worry about them being unable to deal with those creatures."

Knowing this, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief, as they all hoped that these mercenaries would prevail, although it seemed like a slim hope.

Gu Fan thought of something and asked, "Since the Hunter’s Guild and some mercenaries have a good relationship, I trust you’ve already detailed the characteristics of the creatures in the Dark Night Primitive Forest to the mercenaries, haven’t you?"

Irina nodded, "Don’t worry, by now I estimate every mercenary group knows what they are up against."

"If that’s the case, if I were a mercenary group, I would definitely choose daylight." Just as Gu Fan was about to discuss further with Irina, they were interrupted by the sound of noisy disturbances followed by the crashing of objects.

Gu Fan and Irina’s first reaction was that something had happened, so they rushed out immediately heading to the inn’s dining area only to see tables and chairs overturned everywhere.

Several mercenaries were surrounding Su Hui, looking very unfriendly, and even more of their comrades were arriving.

"What happened, what exactly is going on?" Gu Fan inquired, only to learn that a few mercenaries had gotten drunk and began harassing Su Hui because she was beautiful, even going as far as to make inappropriate touches.

Now knowing the cause of the conflict, Gu Fan shook his head continuously; these mercenaries really were clueless about whom they should provoke, unfortunately choosing to target Su Hui.

Two mercenaries charged to attack Su Hui, but with just a few kicks and punches, Su Hui had them sprawled on the ground in disarray.

"I don’t want to cause trouble, but if you insist on continuing, I assure you tonight will be unforgettable," Su Hui just finished speaking when Gu Fan added, "I also offer a guarantee, if you keep this up, you’ll miss your chance to head to the Dark Night Primitive Forest."

The mercenaries, hearing this, wore solemn expressions, inwardly thinking who is this guy to talk so big.

"Didn’t expect that, someone so young with such a big talk," a woman’s voice rang out. She was tall, clad in a sports tank top and camo pants, giving off a spirited and valiant air, quite attractive too although, due to likely being on missions regularly, her skin was rather dark.

As the deputy leader of Lightning Mercenary Corp arrived, her gaze swept sternly around everyone present with a hint of scorn, particularly because, in her eyes, Gu Fan and Lu Yi seemed far too young.

Su Hui was very beautiful. The deputy captain paid a bit of attention and said, "You have good skills, hurting so many of my people. Do you think that’s good?"

"It was your people who provoked me first, and they were the ones who refused to stop. If you insist on continuing this, I can assure you, your people will only get hurt more, which is even worse," Su Hui replied with a strong attitude, showing no signs of backing down.

"Alright, I’ll challenge you. If you win, we will leave, but if you lose, you will pay for your actions today." The deputy captain approached without waiting for Su Hui’s agreement and charged with increased speed.

The deputy captain’s strength and speed were astonishing. With a light shout, she suddenly leaped forward, launching a forceful kick while sprinting.

Su Hui used her arms to block, thinking that her average strength would be sufficient to withstand the attack.

However, Su Hui was mistaken. The deputy captain’s kick was forceful and heavy, the impact forcing Su Hui to retreat five steps.

Gu Fan, standing by, was stunned, thinking to himself that this deputy captain was no ordinary person if a single kick could make Su Hui step back.

Irina added, "Don’t think that you are the only special ones in the world. There are many capable and extraordinary people with so many people around."

"You make sense, but..." Gu Fan began to worry, wondering if he should tell Su Hui to calm down and avoid a fight, fearing it would expose their own strength.

However, how could Su Hui easily give up? She wouldn’t allow herself to be beaten by a woman in a fight and started swinging her arms, ready to strike hard.

The deputy captain frowned. The kick she had delivered used considerable force, which a regular person couldn’t withstand, but Su Hui had only staggered back a few steps and stood firmly, shockingly unaffected and showing no sign of fear.

"Not simple, these people are not simple," thought the deputy captain as she was wondering about their origins when she saw Su Hui readying herself, assuming an attacking stance.

Just then, Gu Fan suddenly stepped in and said angrily, "Alright, we’re all adults here who know better. Look at the mess you’ve made here, stop fighting. It disturbs other guests’ rest and it’s very unclassy."

Listening to him, Su Hui caught Gu Fan’s meaningful gaze and immediately understood what he meant. She had indeed been a bit rash, but thankfully, Gu Fan intervened, otherwise, they would’ve exposed their strength.

But the deputy captain was relentless, "It’s no problem, we can find a secluded place to spar."

Gu Fan rejected the idea, "I’m sorry, but there’s no need to meet through martial prowess. Everyone should just go back and sleep early. After all, you are here on official business."

"No worries, the mission can wait for the next one, but it’s not every day you encounter a worthy opponent." After saying this, the deputy captain’s expression turned serious, "You think you can just hurt so many of my subordinates and walk away like it’s nothing?"

Now Gu Fan was in trouble. He had thought that using their ordinary level of strength would be enough to handle these people, but he didn’t expect such a difficult character to appear. To fight would mean exposing their real strength, drawing attention and suspicion. Not fighting, however, was not an option the other party was open to.
