Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1145: Familiar Enemy

Chapter 1145: Chapter 1145: Familiar Enemy

With her stance set and ready to burst forth, Su Hui fixed her gaze on the masked female vampire. Although their previous exchange was brief, the female vampire left Su Hui with a sense of familiarity, as if they had battled before.

Before Su Hui could recall, the female vampire launched another attack, her jade palms flurrying at an incredibly high speed.

"Good, let’s see who’s better," Su Hui said, refusing to show weakness. She fought speed with speed, betting it all on her quickness.

The two women exchanged blow for blow, one palm strike after another in a solid head-to-head clash, neither giving ground. In just a short moment, they had exchanged over thirty moves, equally matched.

However, the masked female vampire gradually began to overbear Su Hui in both speed and strength, then struck a forceful blow to Su Hui’s shoulder, sending her flying.

"My God, she’s incredibly strong," Su Hui admitted defeat but didn’t act rashly, feeling an intense pain in the afflicted shoulder.

The female vampire, with the upper hand, sneered, "You are skilled with the sword, yet you contest me in palm strength, you have no chance of winning."

Hearing this, Su Hui frowned and then took out her nunchucks, substituting them for a sword, and actually took the initiative to attack the female vampire.

"That’s more like it," the female vampire continued her aggressive assault with palm strikes toward Su Hui.

Unperturbed, Su Hui swung her nunchucks in a circular motion like a shield, protecting herself and blocking all the female vampire’s attacks, leaving no opening. Seizing the opportunity, she struck the female vampire’s shoulder hard with the nunchuck, the sound of a breaking bone audible.

"Yes, that’s more like it," the wounded female vampire became even more excited, leaping up to kick at Su Hui.

Su Hui raised her leg to block the kick, then pushed off the ground, launching herself forward with a knee strike that pushed the female vampire back, followed by an elbow strike.

With Su Hui’s power, a knee and elbow strike would be unbearable for most, even robust men, but the female vampire, after retreating five steps, stood upright in front of Su Hui as if nothing had happened.

Watching the intense skirmish between the two, Xue Lang became somewhat eager to join in, commenting, "You handle Su Hui; I’ll take care of the rest."

The female vampire responded with a cold huff, "What’s the rush? Qiao Ya and Dong Ni will soon arrive with reinforcements, and then all problems will be resolved."

"That’s true!" Xue Lang no longer sought to steal the glory, looking on with a cold laugh at Su Hui’s flustered expression.

With pursuers from behind and blockers ahead, Su Hui knew her side was caught in a pincer movement and disadvantageous position. She was at a loss for what to do.

The female vampire and Xue Lang were in no hurry to act, patiently waiting for Qiao Ya and Dong Ni to arrive with their men, by which time even if Su Hui grew wings, she wouldn’t escape.

Suddenly, several gunshots rang out, followed by sounds of wailing, seemingly originating from the direction of the river, indicating that a fierce confrontation was underway.

"What’s happening? Did Qiao Ya and Dong Ni get ambushed? Do you still have people, Su Hui?" The barrage of questions from Xue Lang left Su Hui just as confused; she didn’t know what was happening either.

Something had changed, the female vampire didn’t wait any longer and once again launched a fierce attack, charging toward Su Hui with overwhelming force.

"Come on, who’s afraid?" Su Hui, unwilling to show weakness, swung her staff and stepped forward, hoping to defuse the opponent’s aggression like she had before.

However, this time it was beyond Su Hui’s expectations; the vampire’s strength had increased once again. While Su Hui’s staff did make contact with the vampire’s palm, she just couldn’t hold her off; the difference in power was too great.

It was no use, Su Hui wasn’t strong enough, so she could only retreat hastily, trying to avoid the vampire’s sharp edge, but she was still a step too late. Her staff was knocked away, her defenses breached, and she was hit repeatedly, the pain piercing to her core.

"Centuries of my cultivation can’t possibly lose to you," the vampire landed another heavy palm strike on Su Hui, sending her flying a great distance away.

Collapsed on the ground, Su Hui spat out a mouthful of blood. She hadn’t expected the vampire to be so powerful. Now, severely wounded, she felt as if her bones were about to fall apart.

With the posture of a victor, the vampire slowly walked over to Su Hui and coldly said, "I originally thought it would take us a long time to determine the winner, like our first encounter, but it seems I’ve overestimated you. It looks like you’ve neglected your training since returning to the modern era; you really haven’t improved at all."

"What do you mean? Have we met before?" Su Hui, looking at the masked female vampire, felt more and more that she seemed familiar.

But now was not the time to speculate about the vampire’s identity. Struggling to her feet, Su Hui’s gaze hardened, as she prepared to fight to the death.

"Gu Fan is protected by the Destiny Stone Body Guard, but you are not. I really want to see what Gu Fan’s reaction would be when he arrives to find you dead at my hand." Having said that, the vampire launched a full-powered palm strike towards Su Hui while shouting, "Last time, Gu Fan saved you; I don’t believe he can save you again this time."

"Last time?" Su Hui didn’t have time to think anymore, as the vampire’s killing move was already upon her. Out of desperation, Su Hui crossed her arms in front of her, trying to block the blow. She succeeded, but the vampire’s power was too strong, and Su Hui was sent flying again, both her arms fractured.

Demonic Qi, a torrent of it surged from the vampire, an aura so familiar it changed Su Hui’s expression dramatically. This sensation couldn’t be mistaken. Could it be that she was...

"You guessed who I am, but it’s useless, you’re still going to die by my hand," the vampire rushed forward. With her strength, it would be easy to finish off the severely injured Su Hui.

Suddenly, Irina arrived with a group of people who aimed their guns at the vampire and opened fire. A volley of gunfire, dozens of bullets piercing the vampire’s body, their impact sending her flying.

"What, there are more people?" Xue Lang, seeing another group arrive, sensed that the situation was turning sour. With no time left to worry about what had befallen Qiao Ya and Dong Ni, he quickly hid.

The leader of the second hunter group was overjoyed at the sight of Irina: "It’s you guys, thank goodness."

"Thank goodness for what? Let’s take out these two vampires first," Irina said while reloading her crossbow and aiming the wooden bolts at the masked female vampire.

"What is this nonsense!" the vampire sneered, catching the incoming wooden bolts with lightning speed. She barely spared Irina a glance, her focus still on Su Hui.

"Alright, your time has come," the vampire snorted coldly, once again charging at Su Hui.

Just at the critical moment, Gu Fan suddenly leaped down from the treetops, landing with a heavy thud, his eyes flashing fiercely. He threw a punch toward the vampire, with a force so strong that he repelled her.
