Chapter 1101: Chapter 1101: The First Actual Combat
Tonight, the operations of the underground entertainment world had ended, and Lin Yue, having a lot of unfinished business, left quite late.
The hunter burst into Lin Yue’s office, then tossed a mask onto Lin Yue’s desk and said, "Come with me, I’ll take you to a real fight."
"Real fight?" Lin Yue was somewhat perplexed, but then he understood - the hunter was taking him to confront an enemy.
Lin Yue was both nervous and exhilarated; this was his first time following the hunter on an outing, and he really had no idea what to expect.
The two drove to an abandoned building and parked their car beside a grove of trees. They turned off the engine and lights, then silently infiltrated the building.
Lin Yue had practiced his skill, and he could sense all the rustling around him. Noticing the quiet, he asked, "Master, there’s no one here. Are we at the wrong place?"
The hunter gestured to him to be silent, and Lin Yue obediently closed his mouth.
After patiently waiting for an hour, just as Lin Yue thought they might come up empty-handed that night and was about to suggest they leave, he saw the hunter’s unwavering gaze.
After a while longer, a breeze blew over, positioning Lin Yue and the hunter upwind.
"Do you smell that?" the hunter remarked indifferently. Lin Yue took a careful sniff of the air and then his eyes widened slightly in alarm - it was the scent of blood.
While Lin Yue wondered where this scent of blood was coming from, suddenly, a shadow with astonishing speed and jumping ability entered the abandoned building. A glance at his skill showed he was not an ordinary person.
In the darkness, Lin Yue saw this person carrying someone else, then watched as the carried person was tossed onto the ground, the scent of blood growing even stronger.
Lin Yue’s first reaction was that this might be a murder scene, and he wondered if the hunter had brought him here to prevent what was about to happen, so he immediately prepared to strike.
However, what happened next completely overturned Lin Yue’s expectations. In the darkness, this person was gnawing at a neck, like a wild beast tearing at its prey, and the sound of flesh being ripped open could be heard.
Seeing such a ghastly feeding for the first time unsettled Lin Yue, and he glanced at the hunter beside him, only to see the hunter looking detached, as if such scenes were nothing unusual for him.
When Lin Yue’s thoughts were in turmoil, the hunter suddenly grabbed his hand and flung Lin Yue out.
"Damn it!" Lin Yue flew uncontrollably and his movements caught the attention of the strange person in the darkness.
By the time Lin Yue landed and stabilized his stance, he was fifteen steps away, facing the strange person.
Up close, he could see clearly: the creature’s eyes were entirely black, pointed teeth protruded from its mouth, and it was covered in fresh blood, like a wild beast that had just finished feeding, with a corpse lying at its feet.
Lin Yue, facing such a creature for the first time, felt his legs go weak: "Sorry to interrupt your meal, I’ll just leave right away, let’s pretend none of this happened tonight."
The vampire scoffed coldly, then pounced on Lin Yue with terrifying explosive power, like a cannonball launched at him.
"Damn, this is real combat?" Lin Yue immediately executed a palm strike as practiced before and hit the vampire squarely, sending the vampire flying.
Yet Lin Yue also took a punch from the vampire, flying farther and feeling a heart-piercing pain, as if his bones might’ve broken.
Lin Yue hadn’t recovered when he saw the vampire rise nonchalantly, emitting a beast-like growl, his eyes filled with a terrible murderous gleam.
"Alright, alright, actual combat it is," Lin Yue adjusted his attitude, setting aside whatever kind of monster his opponent was for now, focusing on winning first.
The vampire wanted to attack, but seeing Lin Yue make the first move, it felt underestimated, "Brat, you dare provoke me, tired of living huh."
Lin Yue didn’t respond, and soon the two were fighting fiercely, exchanging blows after blows, engaging in dozens of exchanges.
However, Lin Yue, with relatively little training, quickly became overwhelmed, was punched away by the vampire, and hit a stone wall in a sorry state.
"Oh my god, that hurts!" Just as Lin Yue was trying to stand up, a hand grabbed his head and pressed it firmly against the ground, pinning him down.
The vampire laughed coldly, "I must say, you do have some skill, but you’re only slightly better than those jack-of-all-trades.
"I know, and I wasn’t planning on winning, I came for actual combat." Lin Yue smiled faintly, showing no sign of his perilous situation.
The vampire, puzzled by Lin Yue’s composure, began to feel uneasy, suddenly sensing a fierce Jian Qi right behind him, breaking out in cold sweat.
"No way, such powerful Jian Qi, could it be..." The vampire grew frightened, not even daring to look back, and without thinking of putting up a fight, he simply turned tail and ran.
However, the hunter was quicker, overtaking the vampire and then kicking it back.
"Screw you, hunter, I didn’t provoke you," the vampire, knowing it couldn’t escape, resorted to cursing with defiance.
The hunter said indifferently, "You didn’t come for me, but your actions have offended me, and I’m not pleased."
"I’ll fight you with everything I’ve got!" Knowing it couldn’t escape or win, the vampire changed direction and lunged at Lin Yue, hoping to drag him down as well.
"Whoa, think I’m a push-over?" Lin Yue didn’t go down without a fight, exchanging several blows with the vampire, but ultimately was no match, taking a heavy punch that left him in immense pain.
Just as the vampire was about to finish Lin Yue, a flash of sharp cold light passed, and one of the vampire’s arms was chopped off, chilling its heart to the core.
The hunter made quick work of it, severing the vampire’s limbs effortlessly, leaving it to wriggle in agony on the ground.
Lin Yue, having narrowly escaped death, couldn’t help but complain, "Master, could you have made your move a little earlier? You have no idea how dangerous it was just now."
"I thought you could hold out a bit longer, sorry, I overestimated you," the hunter’s words were somewhat disheartening, dealing a blow to Lin Yue’s confidence.
At that moment, Lin Yue saw the vampire’s limbs rapidly healing, no longer bleeding, and new limbs seemed to be growing, a truly miraculous sight.
Lin Yue couldn’t help but exclaim, "No way, still not dead after that? What kind of monster is this?"
The vampire was displeased, "Monster? I belong to the noble Xue Clan, not something you ants can compare with. You’ve messed with me today, the Xue Clan will surely avenge me."
