Chapter 1030: Chapter 1030: Gathering Forces, Preparing for the Final Assault
Back in the modern era, within an abandoned factory, David was calibrating the space-time door, his heart racing. The time agreed upon to open it was fast approaching again. He remembered that they had activated it five times already, but not once had Gu Fan and his team returned.
"This is bad, this is so bad. We’ve lost three people at once; it’s a huge setback," Lu Yi lamented pessimistically.
Jie quickly covered Lu Yi’s mouth: "Please, don’t be a doomsayer. We’re already worried enough as it is."
"Exactly my point. It would have been great if everyone had tried to stop Sister Su from going back to the ancient era," Lu Yi said, his spirit deflated. Now, it was up to the few of them to defend the space-time door, which was no easy feat.
Gu Ling offered words of encouragement: "Relax. My sensing abilities are top-notch and they have never failed me. Up to now, I haven’t sensed any danger, which means that Qian Ye hasn’t found this place yet."
Helen agreed: "Exactly, we’ve prepared enough food and water since settling here and we haven’t stepped away. If Qian Ye still hasn’t found this place by now, it means she’s still unaware of it. We can consider ourselves safe."
"I hope you’re right," Lu Yi couldn’t bring himself to feel optimistic. Then he added, "But what if Qian Ye is just biding her time to gather strength? I can’t believe she wouldn’t have a way to find this place. Let’s not forget she has Qian Feng by her side."
"For heaven’s sake, can’t you say anything positive?" the others looked at him pleadingly, and Lu Yi realized he had misspoken, so he quickly fell silent.
Gu Ling suddenly remembered a critical point: "Lu Yi, even though you always jinx us and it causes us so much trouble, every time, we’ve managed to turn the tide and achieve our final goal."
"Yeah!" Lu Yi suddenly perked up. "Maybe it’s not jinxing; perhaps it’s a test for us to win the final victory?"
Upon hearing this, Jie shook his head: "You really know how to pat yourself on the back."
Helen whispered to Gu Ling, "You’d better not compliment Lu Yi too much. He gets carried away too easily."
"Yeah, I regret it already," Gu Ling said with an embarrassed smile. Suddenly, she trembled all over and broke out in cold sweat, feeling an inexplicable sense of dread.
Seeing this, Helen quickly grabbed Gu Ling’s arm: "What’s wrong, Xiaoling? Are you okay?"
"I’m fine. I just lost control of my supernatural power for a moment, and I don’t know why," Gu Ling furrowed her brows, then she understood the reason: "Part of my supernatural power was given to me by Sister Qian Feng. Could it be..."
Helen’s face darkened: "Qian Feng used that part of supernatural power inside you to pinpoint your location, which means Shennv Xuanhui knows where the space-time door is now."
"Damn, what’s meant to come will always find its way," Lu Yi and Jie both grew nervous, their palms sweating as they asked, "David, how much longer do you need?"
David answered, "I need another eight hours."
"Alright, we’ll hold the line for eight hours." Helen picked up the walkie-talkie, urgently shouting, "All teams, be alert; Shennv Xuanhui is likely to attack soon. Stay vigilant."
"Should we move out immediately, before they get here?" Lu Yi suggested.
To this, David shook his head: "Moving the space-time door would require careful dismantling, which in itself takes time. Since the enemy is bound to attack anyway, we might as well stand our ground."
"Let’s make our stand," Helen said, gripping the walkie-talkie tightly, her heart filled with unease. She didn’t know if they had adequate strength to hold their position.
And Gu Ling was filled with rage: "Sister Qian Feng, you’ve used me once again. You’ve really gone too far."

Meanwhile, in a villa halfway up a hillside, Qian Feng retracted her supernatural power, her expression solemn: "Qian Ye, I’ve done what you asked. Is there anything you’re not satisfied with?"
"Thank you, elder sister. I always knew you cared for me the most," Qian Ye was pleased and completely ignored Qian Feng’s displeasure.
After several days of searching, Qian Ye was still unable to locate the space-time door, which had her worried sick, fearing that Gu Fan and the others had already retrieved Lin Xi from the ancient past and were now plotting how to send Qian Ye back.
So Qian Ye kept pressuring Qian Feng to act, forcing her into doing regrettable things to Gu Ling, which left Qian Feng feeling quite unhappy.
"As long as we’ve found it, that’s enough," Qian Ye then made a call: "Hey, are all your people assembled?"
"Don’t worry, boss. The Black Night Gang has followed your orders to split up and has already converged on this city, just waiting for your command," came the reply.
Qian Ye was satisfied: "Good, gather everyone immediately and head to the address I gave you. Remember, whoever stands in your way, you’re authorized to deal with them without considering the consequences."
Hearing this, Qian Feng was surprised: "What? Qian Ye, you’ve secretly assembled a force without telling me?"
"Does it matter? I’m telling you now, isn’t that the same?" retorted Qian Ye nonchalantly, which only compounded Qian Feng’s dissatisfaction.
Qian Feng’s tone became slightly stern: "Any action taken now affects my judgment of the situation. If there’s anything else you haven’t mentioned, Qian Ye, please disclose it all now. I’ll let this slide, but don’t let it happen again."
"Alright, I understand. I won’t make the mistake again," Qian Ye responded lazily.
Not just Qian Feng, even Qian Ying and Qian Xue found Qian Ye’s current attitude highly irritating.
But there was a silver lining. Qian Ying finally understood why Qian Ye had disliked her so much before—her actions had indeed been infuriating. Secretly, Qian Ying was thankful to Qian Ye, as if looking into a mirror, it had made her see how contemptible her past self was, and she could hardly bear to face it.
Feeling the tension in the air, Ning Qi tried to diffuse the situation: "Alright, we’re all good sisters of Shennv Xuanhui. Let’s not get hung up on the small stuff. We’re all busy, and it’s understandable to overlook some details occasionally."
Without dwelling on it further, Qian Feng declared with a hint of emotion: "Alright, let’s move out. Let me make it clear: during this operation, everyone must follow my orders. Anyone who acts rashly will be punished severely, myself included."
Qian Ying, Qian Xue, Ning Qi all showed they were amenable, while Qian Ye just smiled, albeit with an undertone indicating she had her own plans.
There was no other option; Qian Feng sighed inwardly, hoping what she was doing was right. She suddenly realized that the sisterhood she had always treasured and striven to maintain had become a shackle.
