Chapter 294: Chapter 264: Dream Cultivation_2

"Freeing you from this Dream World would just require prying into a strand of the Dream Rules’ power, but making you an independent existence separated from the power of the rules... that’s akin to tampering with the entire Dream World’s rules. Even that agent of chaos finds it tough, do you think I’m the kind of fool who can endure hardship without complaining?"

Lucien chuckled awkwardly. He had just had such a thought since the fundamental nature of the [talents] awakened by the Awakeners in this world were all unique magical patterns, which could be researched and transformed into special witchcraft models.

A talent like "Mind Reading," the bishop’s investigative talent, was very unique in certain aspects and held immense value for Lucien.

Putting it bluntly, Lucien was somewhat greedy for the bodies of these Awakeners.

But the magical patterns formed by these talents were extremely unique, and without having complete control over the Awakeners, there was no way to record the talent patterns imprinted in their minds.

"Never mind then," Lucien shrugged, "I’m really interested in the advantage you mentioned earlier. I plan to digest it and then advance to the rank of a second-level Wizard here."

"Then I want to take this opportunity to do more ’hunting,’ after all, it’s hard to know where else I could find places that allow harmless enhancement of my power."

Lucien leaned his head against the back of his chair and closed his eyes, relaxing.

...

"Bipedal hairy beast, close your eyes, then... follow your thoughts, and have a beautiful dream," the voice of Earl Sanaxis echoed within Lucien’s spirit core.

"How long will the dream last?" Lucien cautiously asked. He didn’t want any mishaps due to the advantages, like having his consciousness and his identity as "Lurah" fall asleep for several days.

"Unknown," Earl Sanaxis laughed softly, "The duration of the dream depends on you, but your sleeping time... is about fifteen minutes."

"Duration uncertain? Fifteen minutes?" Lucien blinked his eyes.

"That’s the nature of dreams. Here, time can be stretched or compressed, and space can also be twisted," Earl Sanaxis sighed softly, his voice carrying a hint of reminiscence.

"The power of dreams is so wonderful that sometimes, even real power seems futile before it. It could perhaps go even further..."

Earl Sanaxis seemed to sense Lucien’s confusion, but he didn’t say more. Instead, he closed his mouth, and from his body, he released a stream of energy that resembled Twisted Rules but was a beautiful purplish-pink in color.

This stream, imbued with special rules, gradually engulfed Lucien’s spirit core, similar to when he had consumed "Praise of Moonlight" during his apprenticeship. Just after a fleeting moment, Lucien’s consciousness was pulled into another dark space.

"Is this... me?" Lucien quickly regained bodily sensation, but at that moment, his state felt like he was experiencing a familiar yet unfamiliar version of himself.

Boom—

In the next moment, "Lucien" began to clearly evolve; his spiritual power aura gradually shifted from a mundane person to a first-level Wizard Apprentice, and then with the help of the Meditation Method, Lucien’s spiritual power began to transform and rapidly ascend at an astounding rate.

"This novel Meditation Method seems neither the Greybone Meditation Method nor the Star Group Meditation Method, but a combination of the advantages of these two, and even blends some of the Body Refinement Wizard and Fairy Bloodline Refinement Methods, along with some techniques for manipulating the Dream essence into a brand new Meditation Method?"

Although he remained in a state of meditation, Lucien’s consciousness was very active, allowing him to perceive this meditation and cultivation process clearly while rapidly remembering and contemplating.

However, comparatively speaking, the effects of this Meditation Method during the apprenticeship phase didn’t differ significantly from the twice-upgraded Greybone Meditation Method, save for seemingly more efficiency in cultivation.

As Lucien’s aura reached the third-level Wizard Apprentice, several vague adversaries began to appear within this dark space.

The faces of these adversaries were unclear, visible only as vague outlines. Most presented human forms, but occasionally, some took on special states, such as stone giants, cuboid figures, or beast types.

"Fight." Lucien almost subconsciously began battling these opponents, and even during the skirmish, his body did not stop meditating and ascending.

Pff—

The Moon Blade spun rapidly, tracing a tragically beautiful curve, and decapitated a shadow with a beast tail.

Thunder burst forth, striking down a short, wide-headed shadow, shattering its form instantly.

Countless vines spread out, entangling and tearing apart a shadow whose arms had transformed into wings...

Lucien’s spiritual power and witchcraft seemed as inexhaustible as his enemies. Soon he forgot why he was fighting, why he was meditating, and even why he was there, instead, he fiercely focused on annihilating all the enemies before him.

At first, he used some of the witchcraft he commonly practiced. However, as the battle continued and Lucien kept "dying" and "resurrecting," his combat skills became increasingly proficient, and the witchcraft he wielded also began to transform.

Boom—

As he sliced open an enemy’s throat, Lucien’s aura dramatically intensified, advancing to the level of a Wizard.

At the moment of his advancement, the aura of the enemies before him also surged abruptly.

...

"I wonder how far this boy can make it in the dream," muttered Earl Sanaxis languidly, as he swam through the pink-purple sea inside Lucien’s spirit core.

Afterward, he extracted himself from Lucien’s spirit core with some effort and entered the outside world.

Struggling to climb onto a table, Earl Sanaxis raised his head to look at the scenery outside. His massive solitary eye appeared obscure and profound.

"The Dream World, my birthplace..."

The Earl’s voice echoed through the air, sounding like a whisper mixed with a sigh.

Inside the Dream Layer, a slight tremor passed through.

A group of Dream Worms that had been swaying their bodies and consuming dream force suddenly stiffened. Then, as if sensing something, they began to converge rapidly towards one direction, not even avoiding or retreating from a dream creature that preyed on Dream Worms along the way.

As they continuously amassed, small groups of Dream Worms eventually united, forming a monumental swarm.

This resembled a plague of locusts: individually, Dream Worms might merely be food, but when millions, or even billions, gathered together, the resultant force from the dream was potent enough to make even a Dream Realm Lord wary.

In other worlds, such a massive assembly of bottom-of-the-food-chain creatures might not mean much or alarm any gods, but things were different inside the Dream World.

For as the quantity of the Dream Worms reached a certain scale, they vaguely formed a collective entity and invisibly triggered special Dream Rules.

Under the convergence of these rules, the Dream Worms gradually began to "merge" into a colossal entity.
