Chapter 171 - 151: The Queen

Chapter 171: Chapter 151: The Queen

Beckett stood upon a disc-shaped witch tool, quickly increasing the distance from the massive creature before him.

"Is this a shapeshifting type of witchcraft, or some special kind of bloodline secret art?" Encountering a dragon-type species in reality for the first time, and feeling an intimidating aura that seemingly caused an innate sense of fear, Beckett was very cautious, even somewhat wary.

By contrast, Carly, driven by the boiling bloodline power within her, gently flapped the huge wings that had transformed from her arms, stirring up a fierce wind.

Swish swish swish...

The violent wind even possessed a slight cutting ability; if an ordinary person were to enter the range of the wind, they might be sliced up until they were bloody.

This was not a magical attack intentionally created by Carly, but rather a natural spell fluctuation formed by the magic essence gathering instinctively due to the innate abilities of her feathered dragon body.

Just as a fish swimming on the surface naturally generates ripples, every movement of the powerful magic essence-affinity feathered dragon caused the aggregation of magic essence and formed some weak natural magic; however, when actively casting magic, this powerful affinity would drastically increase the power of the spell used!

For example, a wizard casting Blazing Technique might only be able to create a fireball the size of a fist, but a Feathered Dragon Transformation casting the same technique could conjure a huge fireball over half a meter in diameter, significantly surpassing the power of a normal magical model!

Whoosh—

In that state, Carly summoned the boiling bloodline power within her to form three flashing moon blades in front of her.

The moon blades, dense like solid matter, were even coated with a thin layer of frost on their surface.

This already exhibited traits of the first-tier bloodline secret technique "Frost Blade Dance"—whether in terms of cutting power, rotation speed, or the cold and slowing effects of the frost, each blade was more formidable than a normal moon blade, boasting the offensive might of a Formal Wizard.

And the combined force of the three moon blades brought a pressure to Beckett that did not pale in comparison to a full-force attack from formal witchcraft, perhaps even exceeded it!

"Damn it." Beckett was truly flustered now as he struggled to operate the flying wheel, defending against Carly’s relentless assault.

Boom—

A moon blade collided head-on with the flying wheel, emitting a somewhat grating collision sound.

The moon blade trembled slightly, the layer of frost on the surface began to fracture, and the entire moon blade grew unstable, as though it might disintegrate at any moment. Tiny, thin layers of ice peeled off and were shattered into fine frost by the aftermath of the collision, creating a scattering of rainbow lights in the small area of space around the impact due to the refraction of light.

The slightly more advantageous flying wheel wasn’t faring well either. The collision had made it even more unstable, and it was vaguely possible to see shadows extending from the edges of the wheel, as if the serrated edges composing the wheel were on the verge of detaching, potentially causing the wheel to come apart.

"Run!" Beckett’s eyes glazed over slightly as he had not the slightest joy in his flying wheel gaining the upper hand, but rather felt a chill in his heart.

He knew that even after giving his all, he had only managed to shatter one of the moon blades; and Carly had summoned three of them!

And judging by Carly’s effortless control over the moon blades, it likely wasn’t even the full extent of her power.

On the other hand, Carly blinked somewhat blankly.

Her enormous dragon eyes gazed at the two remaining moon blades as she maneuvered them to relentlessly pursue Beckett while internally, she murmured in disbelief.

Could she really be this strong?

Although she knew from the inherited memories of the Fairy Clan that her Feathered Dragon form was where her greatest offensive power lay, she hadn’t anticipated the immense boost to her combat abilities in this form.

Furthermore, as she became more familiar with her feathered dragon body the longer she stayed active in that state, Carly began to uncover hidden abilities within her bloodline, steadily enhancing her combat potential in dragon form. She also gradually recalled some of the bloodline powers that could only be used in this state, beginning to test their application.

"Kehe..." Carly’s body crouched slightly, her arms, now transformed into huge wings, folded in slightly to support her somewhat cumbersome body, which seemed unbalanced on the ground. Meanwhile, her long neck bent down, mouth slowly opening. Under the influence of the numerous bloodline runes in her mouth, a copious amount of magic essence began to converge towards her opening maw.

Breath, a powerful skill mastered by all dragons and most dragon-type species. Like earlier, when Lucien was in Feathered Dragon Transformation, he borrowed Carly’s bloodline to temporarily morph into a First-level Wizard version of a winged dragon, employing a similar ability against Heli’s Mysterious Puppet.

Now Carly unleashed the Breath known as "Wrath of Nature" once again!

However, as Carly had not yet reached maturity (the level of a First-level Wizard), she needed a short time to gather strength before she could execute this draconic killer move.

During this charging process, the Magic Essence around Carly’s body began to converge towards her mouth. Even the surrounding vegetation and trees began to wither, as the core Life Energy that sustained them was being siphoned by Carly and gathered into the energy sphere in her mouth, speckled with emerald and white light.

At this moment, Beckett, Carly’s opponent, felt a sense of impending death as he retreated.

"Can’t escape!" There was a trace of horror in Beckett’s eyes. He could feel the overwhelming sense of crisis sticking to him like a phantom on his back, impossible to shake off or throw away.

In a state of panic, he looked back only to see Carly, with her mouth wide open, and the terrifying energy sphere inside which was gathering energy and now resembled a solid Dragon Pearl.

"All in!" The terror in Beckett’s blue eyes surged as they were completely covered with blue Thunder, and even the arcs of electricity were now faintly tinged with gold after he activated his body’s overload state.

Crack—

The disc-shaped Witch Tool under his feet shattered on its own, combining with the flying wheel that was about to drop, forming five dart-shaped control Witch Tools similar to throwing darts. These dart-shaped Witch Tools, entwined with electrical arcs, coordinated with Beckett as he made a counterattack towards Carly.

Beckett had no choice at this point; he couldn’t dodge or defend against Carly’s Breath. Even if he could barely withstand it, he certainly couldn’t outrun Carly’s aerial pursuit. All he could do now was fight desperately, seeking life amidst death!

"Ahhhh...." Beckett let out a roar as he transformed into a bolt of lightning, sprinting towards Carly.

And just as he got close, the fully charged energy sphere was unleashed by Carly, transforming into a terrifying energy beam that completely engulfed Beckett.

Boom, boom, boom...

The horrific wave of energy swept through, and almost instantly upon contact, it tore through Beckett’s defenses, then began a terrifying "scrubbing" of him.

Shock filled Beckett’s eyes as his body rapidly underwent woodification, and even the parts of his body that had been mechanically modified now exhibited plant-like characteristics.

Metal springs turned into twisting vines and the tough metal armor became sheets of bark. Even inside his body, this "newborn Nature Kingdom" began to spawn unknown insects or other creatures that rapidly completed his internal ecology...

After the horrific Breath swept over Beckett, it continued to strike behind him. The energy dispersed during the Breath was quickly absorbed and replenished by the surrounding vegetation, revitalizing the withered plants and making them even more lush and dense.

"Ah..." Not far away, a hidden Wizard Apprentice let out a cry of terror. Due to the aftermath, his body also began to rapidly undergo woodification, but his scream abruptly stopped; clearly, that ambitious apprentice who planned to lurk in the shadows and take his chance was destroyed by the remnants of the battle between Carly and Beckett, becoming a casualty of this fight.

"Whew whew..." After releasing that Breath, Carly also felt a slight fatigue. She paused briefly before looking at Beckett, who now had completely woodified and even had a fresh green leaf growing from his head.

"Won!" Carly’s heart leaped with joy. She then raised her head to look at the Evil Eye circling in the sky, seemingly silently communicating something to the outside world of the secret realm.

Then, she lowered her head confidently, surveying those Wizard Apprentices who had been attracted to lurk nearby by the commotion of her previous fight with Beckett and issued a threatening hiss.

"Roar..."

In response to Carly’s warning-filled roar, many apprentices began to flee in terror, some of whom even had small green sprouts emerging on their bodies. They looked at Carly as if she were a terrifying Demon King.

Beckett had died!

As many Wizard Apprentices fled in disarray, their eyes filled with a hint of daze.

In their hearts, the once unrestrained Beckett, who could decide life and death at will, had now been strongly slain; thus, Carly had completely taken over Beckett’s former position and even raised the level of terror slightly.

"Why would such a monster, a headache even for Formal Wizards, oppose us apprentices?" Many Wizard Apprentices wailed in their hearts, but their feet sped up, fearing that if they slowed down by even a step, Carly would catch up and send them off with a casual attack.

But Carly did not choose to chase after them as Beckett had done previously. Instead, she strolled leisurely, watching those fleeing Wizard Apprentices as if she were a queen looking down on the commoners within her domain.
