Chapter 116: Chapter 104: Fairy, Sprite Dragon?_2
"These two bloodlines continuously collided and fused within the body of that predecessor after their death, and now they have formed a new type of Fairy Bloodline that can switch between Fairy and Sprite Dragon... It’s just that right now, I’m having some trouble controlling this special bloodline..."
As Carly spoke, her voice gradually turned into a series of raptor-like chirrups.
Bang—
The next moment, her body could no longer maintain its shape and swelled again into a form resembling that of a giant dragon. However, as opposed to the dragon scales on a dragon’s body, Carly’s surface was covered in long, silver feathers.
Carly stared with her innocent, large eyes at Lucien. Even though, after turning into a Sprite Dragon, Carly’s size had far surpassed Lucien’s, and even the height of her head from the ground exceeded three meters, she still seemed somewhat helpless and at a loss in front of him.
Afterward, she tried several times to suppress her surging bloodline in order to transform back into a more normal Fairy form, but all attempts ended in failure.
Having tried multiple times without success, Carly looked pitifully at Lucien. Of course, with her current appearance, making such an expression felt somewhat incongruous.
"Relax a bit, let me take a look." Watching Carly in this familiar yet somewhat strange state, Lucien felt somewhat amused, but still, he manipulated his spiritual power and carefully began to seep it into Carly’s body.
However, Lucien found that, even though Carly had let down all her defenses against spiritual power, his efforts to penetrate and examine her insides were still exceptionally difficult.
Due to Carly’s body’s instinctive rejection of foreign spiritual power, every probe by Lucien’s spiritual power felt extremely laborious, causing the rather relaxed Lucien to sit up straight, fully driving his spiritual power to gradually "invade" Carly’s body.
Fortunately, despite the exceptionally hard infiltration, Lucien’s formidable spiritual power eventually managed to seep into Carly’s blood with great effort.
Under the suppression of Lucien’s spiritual power, the nearly boiling bloodline power within Carly gradually calmed down.
At the same time, Carly’s body also began to shrink gradually. By the time Lucien had temporarily sealed the bloodline power within her body, Carly had transformed into a shape that was somewhat similar to her original form but still bore some Sprite Dragon characteristics.
"Phew... I’m saved." Carly plopped down on the ground, breathing heavily. She first looked at her hands and then touched her face. Although Carly was somewhat dissatisfied with the pair of small dragon horns on top of her head, it was still much better than having a dragon’s head just a moment ago, which made her smile involuntarily.
"First, put on some clothes." Lucien turned away, unable to bear looking at the unfortunate child.
Hearing Lucien’s words, Carly blinked, then hastily covered herself with her Wizard Robe in a fluster. As for her own clothes? They had already turned into scraps during the previous Dragon Transformation State.
Lucien couldn’t be bothered to look at Carly’s frantic actions, so he simply left the study for the moment and headed to a simple alchemy room he had built over the past few days, starting to craft a basic Witch Tool.
"Mentor Lucien." It took Carly a while to come over, now draped in a set of clothes made from some special plant. Clearly, she had used the Fairy Clan’s innate Talent to quickly create an outfit for herself in an emergency.
"The reason you involuntarily fell into the Dragon Transformation State is likely because your spiritual power is still too weak to handle the surging bloodline power inside you. Once you advance to a Formal Wizard, your spiritual power should be able to control the bloodline more freely and manipulate your body’s changes."
Lucien looked at Carly with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. "So, to control your bloodline freely, work hard, Carly!"
"Lucien, Mentor, I..." Carly was feeling a bit anxious at the moment. After all, having spent over a decade living as a human, she identified more with her human side, with being a Wizard. While the appearance of a humanoid Fairy Carly could come to terms with, the thought of having to maintain the form of a Sprite Dragon in her daily life felt like it would drive her insane.
In her emotional state, the spiritual power seal that Lucien had just placed within Carly’s bloodline seemed to loosen slightly, causing small, fine silver feathers to rapidly sprout along the sides of her face, adding an even more otherworldly look to her appearance.
"Hmm." Lucien glanced at Carly, then tossed her the Alchemical Amulet he had crafted, and lightly tapped her on the head.
"It’s not like there aren’t any solutions. This is a Witch Tool with a [Sealing] effect. If you wear it normally, it should suppress your Bloodline Power before it bursts forth. However, if there are significant fluctuations in your Bloodline, the seal might be broken..."
"Thank you, Mentor Lucien." Carly happily accepted the amulet from Lucien, her entire demeanor seeming to leap for joy.
"Mentor Lucien, after this transformation, I have learned many new spells from my bloodline, some of which are Talent Spells from the Sprite Dragon. It’s just that my grasp over the use of my bloodline is still too superficial. I can perceive some spells, but I’m completely unable to activate them..."
Having resolved the issue of the deformation caused by her bloodline, Carly’s mood had visibly lightened. Shortly afterward, she turned to Lucien with shining eyes, "Mentor Lucien, shall I show you some?"
Lucien looked at Carly and smiled, nodding. "Let’s go outside."
...
"Mentor Lucien, I’ve already demonstrated everything I can." Carly withdrew her hands, gazing at a pit ahead that was still emitting black smoke. Raising her head, her eyes gleamed with a hint of pride.
"Well done, very well done." Lucien nodded. Although Carly was not yet proficient with these few Talent Spells, they were indeed powerful, and many of them had effects that were uniquely wondrous. In certain respects, they could even be on par with the capabilities of a Formal Wizard.
Just as Lucien was about to offer Carly some praise and a small "push," Carly voluntarily released her spiritual power, then sealed off the small area around Lucien and herself.
"Mentor Lucien, please use your spiritual power to block any scouting as well." Carly’s voice was low, and through the use of spiritual power, she isolated them from the perception of others.
Lucien looked at Carly’s secretive demeanor with growing interest. Releasing his spiritual power, a powerful sensation that had accumulated to a pinnacle spread out from him.
The pressure resembling that of a Formal Wizard made Carly’s complexion turn a bit pale, and the amulet on her chest glowed faintly, evidently striving to suppress the surging turmoil of her bloodline.
"Mentor Lucien, have you... broken through?" Carly’s face sprouted more silver feathers due to the pressure of Lucien’s spiritual power; she looked at Lucien with her mouth slightly agape.
"Not yet, after all, it seems this relic repels lifeforms at the level of a Formal Wizard." Lucien shook his head.
"But, Mentor, the aura you just released feels more exaggerated than the Formal Wizards I’ve encountered in my dreams." Carly muttered softly, but quickly remembered the main point she had planned to discuss with Lucien.
She moved closer and then looked up at Lucien. "Mentor Lucien... it seems that after the baptism, I gained some measure of control over this secret realm."
Carly raised her right hand slightly, revealing a moon-like rune on her wrist. "According to the message left by the predecessor, once I reach the level of a Level 3 Wizard, I should be able to fully refine the Cloud Country and become the new ruler of the Cloud Country."
