Chapter 107: Chapter 98 New Mode

"Master Lucien, I have gathered the Moonlight Moss you required, and the integrity of every unit exceeds 98%..." Gagarin, seeing Lucien seemingly looking at him, suppressed his excitement, carefully handed over a basket containing the Moonlight Moss, and then cautiously "showcased" his achievement.

"Thank you." Lucien, understandably not as close to Gagarin as to Carly, politely nodded his head before taking the basket of Moonlight Moss. Then, he called out to stop Gagarin, who was slightly bowing and preparing to leave.

"I remember you are skilled in ice-related witchcraft, right?" Lucien asked casually.

"Yes, yes." But Gagarin became nervous, his heart pounding non-stop as he carefully observed Lucien while quickly introducing himself, hoping to attract Lucien’s attention and demonstrate his strength.

"Master Lucien, I specialize in ice-related witchcraft. I’ve improved ’Frost Freeze’ by modifying the spell that freezes a region into a ’Freezing Ray’ that emits a beam of ice, and my most powerful offensive witchcraft is ’Ice Pillar Shatter.’ With my supporting Witch Tool, its core destructive power can reach..."

"Mm-hmm, I understand," Lucien listened patiently to Gagarin’s introduction, nodding slightly.

Gagarin was a very traditional Wizard Apprentice, balanced in all aspects, but not outstanding in any, which gave him a certain versatility.

Gagarin was now bowing his head deeply, feeling incredibly tense.

"Come to me at this time tomorrow." Lucien’s voice followed, and then the sound of his footsteps gradually receding could be heard.

Gagarin never dared to lift his head, but his heart still thumped uncontrollably.

Lucien was unaware of Gagarin’s excitement at the moment and wouldn’t have cared much even if he did know.

After all, for him, this was just a minor experiment to test the waters. His main focus was on two more pressing matters: one was concocting potions to accelerate his spiritual power growth, and the second was to continue studying the Alchemy Note and design the initial draft for his unique Witch Tool.

The purpose of both tasks was singular: to hasten the accumulation of his strength, allowing him to consolidate his capabilities as soon as possible and advance to becoming a Formal Wizard.

Lucien still remembered that both Bennett and Lilia had shadows of Formal Wizards manipulating things from behind them.

Whether it was the somewhat strange investigation by the Formal Wizard behind Bennett’s family or the deadly doll Adeline that Lilia received from a Formal Wizard, they were all the work of Formal Wizards.

They were merely restricted from entering the relic due to its limitations, but that didn’t mean Lucien wouldn’t encounter a Formal Wizard after leaving the relic.

Perhaps, at this very moment, a Formal Wizard was waiting outside the relic, ready to pounce on the "victors" emerging from the fray within.

And worse yet, there might be more than one Formal Wizard lurking around the perimeter of the relic.

Being inside the relic, Lucien couldn’t ascertain the situation outside, so he had to consider the worst-case scenario and prepare as thoroughly as possible.

"Let’s start with concocting ’Praise of Moonlight.’ After the potion is prepared, I need to research the Crystal Stone’s blocking effect. I remember there was a similar rune structure in a notebook about the Fairy Clan’s wizard formation in the library that could be referred to..."

Lucien quickly organized the experimental equipment on his desk, all the while glancing at a draft spread out on the table.

The draft was incredibly complex, densely packed with numerous intricate Alchemical Runes and wizard formations composed of runes, although currently it was only an outline with many blanks yet to be filled by Lucien.

Even from what was completed so far, one could preliminarily discern the Wizard Tool’s design.

It was a book-style Witch Tool that, by Lucien’s intentional design, looked externally like a leather-bound notebook he commonly used.

However, its internal structure was extremely complicated; in Lucien’s concept, this Witch Tool could continuously be enhanced as his power grew, much like a blank notebook that fills as its owner compiles more content.

On the right side of the draft, in a blank area, the name of this unfinished Witch Tool was written—"Wizard’s Notes."

While Lucien was absorbed in concocting ’Praise of Moonlight’ and addressing the problems with the ’Wizard’s Notes’ design, Gagarin was somewhat unsettled by Lucien’s words, spending the latter half of the day fluctuating between excitement and anxiety.

Even though Gagarin understood that his behavior might seem laughable, he couldn’t help overthinking it.

This somewhat unrealistic sensation was something he hadn’t felt in a long time; the last time he felt something similar was when he first entered Greybone Academy as a newcomer, filled with curiosity and aspiration towards the mysterious and powerful Wizards, unaware of the Wizard World’s brutality.

"Snap out of it, Gagarin. You’re not Carly; things may not be as good as you imagine. This world is cruel," Gagarin finally lost some control, slapped his own head, and poured cold water on himself.
