Chapter 355: Chapter 285: The Mysterious [Origin World Island]_1

The sea surface was thick with Undead Grey Fog.

A scattering of broken icebergs drifted up and down with the waves.

A blood-red Sea Demon Ship slowly sailed into view.

There was a soft "boom!"

The icebergs shattered upon impact.

Several souls with Ice Element Transcendent Characteristics, embodying the fury of the ice, emerged angrily from the broken blocks.

They unleashed a frenzied claw assault at the blood-red Sea Demon Ship, scratching it and causing it to hiss in response.

This damnable behemoth had shattered their hard-won habitat, igniting the intense ire of these soul-associated undead.

Shortly after, a head popped out from the ship’s side, looked down at the front, and then promptly withdrew.

Wrapped in a cotton coat, with the collar pulled up tight and his body shivering slightly, the barnacle crew member "Old Smoky Teeth" nestled his neck deeper into his clothing.

"This damned ghastly weather, it’s too cold!" he exclaimed.

Old Smoky Teeth then squirmed closer to the fire blazing in a bonfire bucket.

At that moment, there were over a dozen barnacle crew members huddled around the bonfire.

"Hey, Old Smoky Teeth, what’s the situation up ahead?" someone asked.

"It’s a few souls with a touch of Ice Elements, about fifth or sixth level. Looks like we hit the ice they were latched onto," said the worldly-wise Old Smoky Teeth, his voice trembling slightly, revealing yellowed teeth stained by tobacco.

"They’ll leave in their own time once they tire of attacking. Their feeble strikes won’t even leave a mark on our Blood Demon Hand Ship."

"The temperature of this flame is too low. Where’s the Fire Wizard? Add a couple more fireballs," someone else demanded.

As Old Smoky Teeth pulled out his smoking pipe, a wizard among the barnacle crew who was proficient in fire spells threw another five or six fireballs into the bonfire bucket.

The flames inside the bucket immediately flared up, sending a comforting warmth seeping into everyone’s hearts.

Even with such intense flames nearby,

the soul-associated undead floating around seemed oblivious to them.

The many barnacle crew members at the bow had grown accustomed to this sight.

"We’ve been aimlessly wandering in the Undead Strait Valley for over half a month now, what on earth are we trying to do?" someone among the clustered barnacle crew inquired.

"What else can we do? Naturally, we’re avoiding the pursuit of Blood Waterfall General’s fleet." another crew member answered.

"I heard that three Sea Demon Ships banded together for the chase, and our Sea Demon Ship was forced to sail into the depths of the Undead Strait Valley."

"Though only the Black Corrosion Ship was seen at that time, the others must undoubtedly be lurking nearby."

"I doubt that," someone interjected.

"I’ve spent decades at sea and have never heard of a Sea Demon Ship that could penetrate deep into the Undead Strait Valley."

"Yet look at our situation now," they continued.

"We are navigating freely in the deep waters of the Undead Strait Valley."

"Such ability is unheard of across the vast Transcendent Ocean."

"Those Undead Sea Devil Ships, although somewhat capable of evading undead hostility, can find shelter in the superficial areas of the Undead Strait Valley."

"But entering deep into the valley would still result in being swarmed by the undead."

"No Sea Demon Ship can penetrate deep into the heart of the forbidden area of Undead Strait Valley—it’s an agreed-upon fact in the Transcendent Ocean!"

"And yet, our Sea Demon Ship boldly enters the forbidden depths of the Undead Strait Valley, unaffected by the vast numbers of undead."

"Clearly... our ship’s influential figure must possess some extraordinary means."

"I believe that the distinguished individual on our Sea Demon Ship is using this incredible method to seek out ocean treasures in the depths of the Undead Strait Valley."

"Seeking ocean treasures?"

The crowd perked up at the mention of ocean treasures.

"I’ve also heard of numerous sunken treasures deep in the Undead Strait Valley."

"Many merchant ships chased by pirates have plunged into this valley in desperation, hoping to find a chance for survival."

"After years of maritime exploration, the seafloor of this region must be layered with vast resources of Magic Gold."

"Does this mean we might strike it rich?"

"Rich? What are you daydreaming about?"

"We soak in seawater 24 hours a day, laboriously working to salvage Magic Gold, and if the bosses are pleased, they might reward us with some tobacco and booze."

A wave of self-mocking laughter tinged with helplessness and bitterness spread through the crowd.

Having become part of the Sea Demon Ship’s crew, although they gained longer lifespans... their destinies were bound to the ship, and even in death, they would be absorbed by the Sea Demon Ship.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

After emptying his pipe of tobacco, Old Smoky Teeth knocked the pipe hard against the bonfire bucket to tap out the ash.

When the murmuring crowd finally quieted down,

"It’s... Origin World Island," said Old Smoky Teeth crisply.

The crowd was taken aback, turning to look at Old Smoky Teeth in surprise.

"Origin World Island?"

"Is that for real?"

"Isn’t Origin World Island just a myth?"

"Even though there are many rumors about the Origin World Island in the Undead Strait Valley, no one has confirmed it, right?" someone else questioned.

"I’ve also heard that the Origin World Island has the Fountain of Youth, and just one sip can restore your youth. But whether it’s true or not... who knows?"
