Chapter 547: Chapter 547 The Party Begins

Lucina arrived at the office door, gently twisted the doorknob, and found it unlocked. She quickly pushed the door open slightly and slipped inside, then shut the door behind her.

The office was divided into three compartments, with the largest one housing four monitors on the wall. Displayed on the screens were four different views of the entrance to the archive vault: original color, black and white thermal imaging, green night vision, and red infrared, effectively covering every angle of the vault’s entrance.

Beneath the screens was a complex control console adorned with a dark green surface, which housed three rows of beige keyboards, four rows of toggle switches marked with federal abbreviations, and sliders similar to those used for adjusting volume.

"How did they make it so complicated...? I thought there would be a red button," Lucina muttered to herself, staring at the control panel with a puzzled expression.

There was a keyhole marked with an "open" sign, covered by a small plastic hood. Lucina guessed that one would need to operate the console first to open the hood and then use a key to unlock the door.

She took out her phone and sent a text message to Priskin, "I’m in, you guys can pull out."

After a few seconds, Priskin replied, "Any chance you can slip out?"

"Taking it one step at a time," Lucina replied.

Then, she texted Chen Ke to let him know she was ready.

Upon receiving the message, Chen Ke glanced at Diana, who nodded in understanding. He then made a phone call to Hall.

"The bird is about to return to the nest," Chen Ke said.

"There’s still one on the tree," Hall responded.

"The cat will pull it down," said Chen Ke.

After waiting a bit, Chen Ke watched a gray van slowly drive out of the Administration Bureau’s gate and turn at the next street corner.

"How long will that door take to open?" Chen Ke asked.

"I’ve never opened it; I don’t know the exact time, but it will definitely take a few minutes," Diana replied.

"Good, we’ll go in, get into position by the archive vault doors, and I’ll signal Lucina to open the door. Then, Parker and I will go in to look for the green diamond while you find Lucina in the office," Chen Ke said.

"No problem. once we’re inside, the Administration Bureau’s attention should be on us immediately; they won’t discover Lucina that quickly," Diana agreed.

"So... how do we get in?" Parker asked, popping his head from the backseat.

"Through the front door," Chen Ke started the car.

"You want to just barge in...?" Parker asked.

"What else? We’re no different from Yasla’s freaks now; the moment we step in, the Administration Bureau’s highest security protocol will trigger," Diana said.

"Exactly, better to be direct; we don’t need to come out anyway, so let’s make it quick and decisive," Chen Ke nodded.

He then sent a text message to Lucina, "The bird has returned to the nest, waiting for your signal."

Lucina received the message and pocketed her phone, staring blankly at the complex console, unsure how to operate it.

"If only I had finished high school..." Lucina mused, her hands hovering over the keyboard, attempting to open the small cover of the keyhole.

Just then, the door behind her opened, and a man walked in, startling Lucina. He didn’t glance at Lucina but went straight to his own office.

Lucina held her breath, watching the man pass by without daring to breathe.

"Hey, Herena, could you make me a cup of coffee, please?" the man suddenly turned back and said as he was entering his office.

At this glance, the man immediately noticed Lucina, a stranger, suspiciously lingering in front of the control panel.

"Uh..." Lucina looked at him too, and the two awkwardly made eye contact.

"Who are you?" the man asked.

"I’m new here..." Lucina replied.

"Oh? Which office? I haven’t seen you before," he said as he moved closer to Lucina.

"I... am..." Lucina didn’t know how to continue, knowing any fabrication would be immediately exposed.

"You dress a lot like Herena, but she always wears black stockings. Do you prefer bare feet?" The man chuckled and moved behind Lucina.

Lucina looked down at her legs beneath her business skirt; she had opted to skip the stockings earlier because it was too much hassle.

"Why aren’t you talking? Is everyone in your department this quiet?" the man whispered into her ear as he leaned toward her neck.

"You wouldn’t want to do this," Lucina warned.

"Heh, Herena said the same. I know you snuck in here, and no matter what you are planning, you won’t be leaving," the man said as his hand slipped under the hem of Lucina’s dress.

"I’m only warning you once," Lucina felt the man’s hand touching her abdomen.

"I’ll also warn you only once; stay quiet, enjoy it, and maybe I can shorten your imprisonment," he said.

His hand explored under Lucina’s clothes, his fingers pressing tightly against her skin.

"Oh...nice abs. I can’t wait to see what’s underneath," the man laughed.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Lucina yelled, stomping her heel down on the man’s toes.

"Ouch!!!"

The man staggered backward in pain as Lucina rammed her elbow into his nose, causing blood to spurt from his nostrils, covering his lips and chin.

"Agh!! Fuck! You bitch...this is the Administration Bureau!" he cried, clutching his nose, preparing to draw a gun from his jacket.

Lucina yanked her foot out of her high heels and kicked him in the face, sending spit flying as he slammed against the wall behind him and rolled on the ground.

She quickly approached and pinned him down with her knee on his chest, pounding his face until he was knocked out.

Lucina stood up, opened the office door a crack, and looked outside. The fight had gone unnoticed, indicating that the Administration Bureau was well-soundproofed.

"All right, Mr. Pervert, let’s see if you have those keys."

Lucina dragged the man to a cubicle’s corner and searched his pockets, finding a magnetic card, a wallet, a Glock pistol, and a keychain.

She first checked the gun; it was not a Spiritual Gun but an ordinary weapon. She removed the magazine, cleared the chambered bullet, tested the trigger, and then reloaded it.

There were several keys on the keychain, and since Lucina didn’t know if one would open the file room console, she decided to try each one.

She returned to the console, tried several keyboards, sliders, and switches, but nothing worked. Just then, a woman’s screams came from outside.

"Oh my God! Help! Help! Someone attacked me! It’s a female janitor! She stole my clothes!"

Lucina realized the woman had woken up.

"Fuck...have to do it this way..." Lucina frowned and shot the plastic shield on the console, the crisp gunshot easily echoing outside.

She pried open the broken plastic cover with her hands and began trying the keys.

Seconds later, the Administration Bureau’s alarm blared.
