Chapter 499: Lucina vs Diana?

Chapter 499: Chapter 499: Lucina vs Diana?

"Enough already... Are you making fun of me for not having a boyfriend? You said so much just now, why did I suddenly travel through time and space?" Diana shook her head.

"You haven’t traveled through time and space yet, but you’re close. Nosebleeds followed by hallucinations are a precursor to time travel. Humans perceive time in a linear and unidirectional way, but time is not a long river; it’s a vast ocean with currents flowing and intertwining in different directions beneath the surface, where no single minute is isolated. But you’ve jumped out of the Sea of Time, allowing you to think independently of the passage of time. Lucina, your dad hasn’t traveled through time, so he’s missing the memory of July," Chen Ke said.

Diana needed some time to digest the concept of time she didn’t understand what Chen Ke meant by the ocean analogy, while Lucina had no doubts.

"Since you can travel through time, do you have any way to find Wang Ailin?" Diana asked.

"What’s the situation with Wang Ailin?" Chen Ke inquired.

"After those assassins failed to kill me, I found a list on them with Wang Ailin’s name on it. I rushed to her house overnight, but no one was there..." Diana replied.

"Mm... I see, are you sure she hasn’t been killed yet?" Chen Ke said.

"I don’t know..." Diana replied.

"Diana, Wang Ailin might also be someone who transcends time... The first time I looked for her, she already recognized me. I suspect that she, too, has had a nosebleed and seen illusions. If that’s the case, even if we return to this point in time, she won’t be affected by the temporal reversal," Chen Ke said.

"Does that mean... the assassins from the consortium have been reversed as well? The fish farm wasn’t blown up?" Lucina interjected.

"Of course, I came here straight from the fish farm," Chen Ke replied.

Lucina nodded. That was a huge asset, and hearing this relieved her quite a bit.

"I do have a way to find Wang Ailin..." speaking, Chen Ke stood up and turned to open the apartment door, which didn’t lead to a hallway but rather another room.

"What is that place?" Diana looked beyond the door, feeling something eerie.

"This is my home, absolutely safe. You can hide inside, and no one will be able to find you. But once you go in, only I can open and close the door. Diana, Lucina, are you willing to go inside?" Chen Ke asked.

"I..." Lucina hesitated. Was this suggesting solitary confinement?

"I refuse... I don’t want to be locked in a room," Diana shook her head.

"I can’t force you, even if it’s just to protect you, but I’ve given you an option," Chen Ke spread his hands.

"Chen Ke, I want to fight alongside you," Lucina said.

"I can too, at least for the next three days..." Diana also said.

"No, no... You can’t fight with me... The enemies I’m facing are unimagined by you... Especially you, Lucina, you’re a normal person. You are strong, but your muscles, in the face of Spiritual Energy, are no different from noodles... Diana, even with your Spiritual Energy, you’re too weak in the presence of the Divine Descent Sect..." Chen Ke shook his head.

Diana pressed her lips together, not knowing what to say, while Lucina was a bit furious, standing up and flipping over the table.

"This is no time for a tantrum!" Chen Ke got angry too, glaring at Lucina.

At that moment, the room’s environment changed. The walls and floor turned to steel, countless hooks descended, and blood seeped from the seams of the metal plates.

Chen Ke was taken aback—it was an Illusion Technique! His body immediately donned An Helei’s Elegy, and he held the Moonlight Greatsword in his hand. He stepped forward to Lucina’s side, shielding her and Diana behind him.

"Left side or right side?" Chen Ke muttered to himself, his eyes flashing blue as he used Spiritual Vision to search the surroundings, yet he found nothing.

"Chen Ke, don’t be nervous," Lucina said.

Chen Ke turned around only to see Lucina holding a coin.

Everything returned to normal, and Chen Ke looked the most bizarre in the whole room.

"Where did you get this from?" Chen Ke immediately recognized it as a mutated object.

A message box appeared before his eyes, indicating that the coin was known as "Imaginary Cage," able to materialize everything related to "torture" imagined by the holder in their mind, creating a realistic sensory experience. However, once the illusion was dispelled, the inflicted damage would be reversed.

```
The power of this coin was that the illusions could be partially or entirely canceled, entirely at the discretion of the holder. Theoretically, it could be used for endless interrogation and torture, making it an excellent tool for wearing down the prisoner’s spirit.
"Chen Ke... I was attacked by people from the consortium, and you must have guessed what I’ve been through," Lucina said.
Diana looked surprisedly at Lucina, and Chen Ke understood as well.
"If you ask me, this is way more effective than a Level 2 interrogation protocol..." Diana sighed.
"You too?" Chen Ke turned to Diana.
"Your girlfriend turned into a freaking flamethrower with this thing and gutted me..." Diana said angrily.
"This thing is too dangerous! Are you sure you want to keep it?" Chen Ke asked.
"I want Yasla and those people from the consortium to experience what hell is like, Chen Ke, this is my revenge, and you can’t take it from me," Lucina said determinedly.
"Hmm... Can I borrow it after you’re done with your revenge?" Diana asked quietly.
"I wouldn’t mind using it on you," Lucina glanced at Diana sidelong.
"Alright, Lucina... I can take you with me, but you have to follow my lead," Chen Ke said.
"What are you guys..." Diana put her hands on her hips, feeling as though she had been forgotten.
"We’re going to take down Si’s consortium," Lucina wrapped her arms around Chen Ke’s waist with a determined expression on her face.
"It’s not just Si’s consortium, but also Yasla, and then Bader. I am going to change that predetermined future. Before that, I’ll use my own methods to see if I can find out where Wang Ailin is," Chen Ke said.
"Does that mean you’ll take me with you?" Diana said.
"You can only act tough for three days!" Lucina frowned and said.
"I can also use a gun, Lucina. Without that coin, even without using Spiritual Energy, you are not my match," Diana declared.
"Oh really?" Lucina let go of Chen Ke and slowly approached Diana, her fists cracking as she squeezed them.
"Enough... Lucina, can’t you just get along with her..." Chen Ke grabbed Lucina’s shoulder.
"You don’t need to stop her, Chen Ke, she’s got a nice figure... but I am curious to see just how good Lucina’s fighting skills are," Diana said with a smile.
"You guys have had enough... do you really want to fight here?" Chen Ke said.
Without another word, Lucina kicked a stool away and swung a punch straight at Diana’s nose.
Diana sidestepped, the punch grazing her cheek. Then, her left fist powerfully struck at Lucina’s soft belly, her right elbow pressed down on Lucina’s collarbone, and her left leg hooked behind Lucina’s heel, trying to knock Lucina to the ground.
But Lucina quickly reached out to grab Diana’s clothes, pulling her down to the ground with her. The two of them wrapped in a tangle, rolling around and wrestling on the floor.
"Let’s see who’s tougher!!" Lucina, on top of Diana, raised her fist ready to smash down.
"You’re more aggressive than Wang Ailin..." Diana smiled, her hand chopping toward Lucina’s throat, making her gasp for air.
"Ugh... cough cough..." Lucina clutched her neck, her face turning bright red. Diana kneed her in the side and raised her fist to pound Lucina’s face.
Chen Ke wrapped his arms around Diana, pulling her away from Lucina, then turned to pick Lucina up.
"Oh! Damn it! Stop it, both of you, don’t make me embarrassed," Chen Ke yelled, exasperated. He hadn’t expected these two women to clash like this.
Lucina sat down on the couch, still feeling some discomfort in her throat, while Diana stood aside, turning her back.
"We have more important things to do. If you want to keep this up, then I’ll go solve the problem myself," Chen Ke said.
The two women had nothing to say and had to remain silent.
