Chapter 283: Chapter 283: [Ash of An Helei: The Last Black Knight] Complete

"I just knew you weren’t dead..." Chen Ke said.

He stood still, after all, his opponent was holding a gun, and he himself was not lacking in speed and agility, making the first move would not give him an advantage.

The metal-can didn’t pull the trigger; he walked slowly into the stone chamber, very interested in the white burn marks on the walls around him and the high temperature in the air.

Chen Ke guessed that the reason why the other party had not launched an attack was because he was eager to know what Chen Ke had obtained.

He must have stayed here for a long time, but because he lacked the ability to break the loop, he certainly didn’t know what Fan Hede’s cycle truly meant.

"My armor readings are very interesting; the temperature around here is as high as 120 degrees, and even higher for the walls. Can you explain what just happened here?" the metal-can said.

Chen Ke let the Moonlight Greatsword hang down to the ground without speaking, which put the metal-can on alert.

"I know what you’re thinking... but I’ll warn you first, the most valuable thing in this cycle is far beyond your imagination. The new clothes you’re wearing and the new toy you’re holding in your hand are not that valuable, so you’d better not think you can easily defeat me just because you’re dressed up now." The metal-can said, his assault rifle muzzle clicked open, the square muzzle transformed into a diamond-shaped electromagnetic launch port, and it charged up with a blue electric glow.

"I thought you knew more than I did," Chen Ke mocked.

"Indeed I do, but clearly, you have gone a step further than I have," the metal-can didn’t get angry.

"Tell me, metal-can, what does H.C.P. stand for? You said that completing the loop would lead to disaster, what does that mean?" Chen Ke asked.

"Why do you think I would answer you?" the metal-can countered.

"Then why do you think I would answer you?" Chen Ke said with a smile.

"You think this is funny...? You probably don’t fully grasp what I’m capable of. The effects of the gear you’re wearing are clear as day in my HUD. You’re comfortable here in a room with a temperature of 120 degrees, thanks to the flame immunity effect of your armor. Your blue sword can unleash a Magic Pulse, but clearly, you don’t have that ability," the metal-can shook his head with a mocking tone.

Chen Ke tilted his head slightly, neither confirming nor denying. At first, he only knew that this guy’s equipment all over his body might be very advanced, but he hadn’t expected it to be so advanced. Not only could it scan all the attributes of the Holy Relics he held in his hand, but it could also directly see the state when held by the opponent.

The Moonlight Torrent skill of the Moonlight Greatsword required a certain level of intelligence to use. In Chen Ke’s hands, it would display an "insufficient intelligence" warning, and all of this could be scanned by him. That was truly impressive.

"You’re right; your equipment is even better than the Holy Relics. I’m quite curious, aside from Holy Relics scanning, can you see through things?" Chen Ke shrugged.

"Do I really have to spell it out for you? Without this suit of armor, you would be naked," the metal-can laughed.

Chen Ke’s face paled, and he moved the Moonlight Greatsword to cover his groin.

"Moreover, I see some even more interesting things. Your body has no temperature, I scanned your internal organs, your left chest is empty. In my opinion, right now, you are either already dead without knowing it, or you’ve turned into a monster," the metal-can said.

"Pardon my frankness, Mr. Metal-Can... but you’ve seen a bit too much," Chen Ke took a step forward.

"Stop, don’t move... freak, tell me, what exactly have you done, and what have you obtained?" the metal-can also took a step forward, threateningly.

"And then I can go?" Chen Ke asked.

"Then you can go die," the metal-can said coldly.

"I don’t think so!" As Chen Ke finished speaking, he suddenly lunged at the metal-can with his sword.

The metal-can didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger, the gun fired three times, issuing a cyan flame, and the bullets all hit Chen Ke’s breastplate.

The bullet wasn’t solid but resembled plasma, splattering like a paintball against the armor and bursting into a large patch of blue heat.

Although it didn’t pierce the armor, Chen Ke suddenly felt as though thousands of sharp daggers were stabbing through his chest. He looked down at his armor, which was glowing from the blue heat spot.

It was magic! This bullet also had an attribute, and it was more powerful than the Administration Bureau’s attribute bullets. It seemed to be able to ignore the Holy Relics and attack the wearer directly...

Chen Ke coughed up blood, his chest beneath the armor punctured with dozens of bloody wounds. Hot blood flowed down through the gaps in his muscles, and he collapsed to the ground, with the Moonlight Greatsword falling to the side.

Tin Can looked at Chen Ke, who was lying on the ground, waited a few seconds, then walked over to him, stepped on his back, and shot him six more times in the back.

In the quiet chamber, the sound of muscle inside the armor being torn by the magic bullets was crystal clear. The snapping and breaking of tendons and organs was both unnervingly chilling and somewhat thrilling to the senses.

"Idiot... let’s see what you’ve got."

Tin Can kicked Chen Ke’s right arm away, pressed the gun against his back, squatted down, grabbed Chen Ke’s shoulder, and flipped him over.

Holy Relics, whether worn or summoned weapon relics, would revert to a small diamond shape upon the summoner’s death. However, in the Great Void, the Holy Relics wouldn’t revert back to diamonds, so they would remain in their original form beside their deceased summoner.

The claim over Holy Relics was a temporary state, with no notion of ’binding’. Once a relic was summoned, the summoner became the owner for that instance. Other Spiritual Ability Users could be harmed by these relics, but they couldn’t wrest them away.

Unless one managed to knock the Holy Relics out of the summoner’s hand or off their body, causing the summoner to "lose control over the Holy Relics," the relics would instantly revert to their diamond state, and the claim would be reset.

Whoever picked them up first could then summon and use them again.

But in the Great Void, no claim over the Holy Relics existed; they were merely objects that could be freely taken. If one could carry them out alive from the Great Void, the bearer could revert them back to diamonds and become their owner.

Tin Can searched Chen Ke’s body, wanting to see what he had managed to obtain, but the armor itself had no pockets, and Chen Ke didn’t have any other containers on him for storing things.

"How could this be... Impossible, at the end of a cycle, it can’t just be a set of armor and a sword... there must be something he overlooked, perhaps the item is still somewhere here... What could it be?" Tin Can mused to himself, looking around the walls of the chamber in thought.

"Could it be this?" Chen Ke asked.

Tin Can was startled, his face suddenly seized by Chen Ke, and a thick layer of white ash with sparks emerged in Chen Ke’s hand.

The white ash quickly caught fire, flaring up like a blaze reborn from embers, continuously heating up to 2000 degrees within just four seconds.

Tin Can’s helmet was glowing red-hot as one hand grabbed Chen Ke’s wrist, attempting to move it away while the other hand drew a rifle from behind.

But Chen Ke was at point-blank range by now, nullifying the disadvantage in speed. He seized the muzzle of the gun with his left hand and gripped Tin Can’s face with his right, relentlessly releasing the power of An Helei’s ashes.

This thing didn’t require using Chen Ke’s life-force to operate. It could be said that it wasn’t driven by Spiritual Energy, which seemed to suggest a significant difference between relics and Holy Relics.

"You found it! You found this! I was right, wasn’t I?" Tin Can screamed in agony as Chen Ke’s hand burned through the helmet, leaving the faceplate glowing red and gaping open with a large hole.

Chen Ke didn’t respond, merely pinning him down to the ground. When he removed his hand, Tin Can’s head was gone.

"Goodbye, Mr. H.C.P... It really didn’t have to be this way..." Chen Ke sighed.

The enemy’s next-generation rifle lay on the ground, emanating a purple halo. Chen Ke picked it up and tried it, only to find he couldn’t fire it, indicating it wasn’t just a plain spiritual power weapon and was probably equipped with a special lock.

"Take it back for research..." Chen Ke was reluctant to give up the gun. He couldn’t use it now, but that was no reason to just discard it, as such things weren’t found every day.

He carried the gun in his left hand and the sword on his right, leaving Tin Can’s headless corpse behind, stepping into the small metal cage elevator, and began to ascend slowly towards the cathedral.
