Chapter 676: Chapter 591: Perfunctory and Serious

"Damn you, dwarf! Die!"

A dozen Mage Hands clutched at Hake Stone’s body, yanking it fiercely.

Amberser had originally wanted to strangle him, only to discover that this Dwarf Vampire had no neck at all!

Hake Stone struggled frantically, even sprouting bat wings, but he was still unable to break free from the Mage Hands Amberser had created through Krypton Gold casting.

Hake Stone could only shout loudly, "Wait, wait, don’t be rash, what exactly did I do wrong, at least let me die with some understanding!"

"What kind of sensationalist crap did you write, turning me into what kind of thing!"

Amberser was fuming, having only just discovered there was a book titled "The Legendary Life of Lich Diga Ultraman."

It wasn’t unusual for someone to write a biography about themselves, especially as a sacrifice for saving the world; not having one would be the odd part. But to his shock, the author’s name was none other than Hake Stone.

Amberser suddenly had a very bad feeling, and his entire body trembled with rage after flipping through it.

Pure slander and defamatory fabrications!

Since when had he been involved with so many women inappropriately?! Back then, he was a Lich, just a skeleton, how could he possibly fool around with women!

And yet, this guy had a flair for writing, crafting an extremely erotic and dramatic tale. Combined with Amberser’s fame, the book shot up the bestseller list.

Now, everyone who had read it was delighting in Amberser’s salacious history.

If he had actually done those things, then let them envy him, but Amberser hadn’t done anything at all, so why should he bear this stigma.

Amberser roared, "You’re going to die! I’ll send you to Hell today!"

Hake Stone almost had his wings torn off and ended up getting a thorough beating from Amberser, before presenting all of his wealth with both hands.

Amberser was even a little surprised, how could the guy be so straightforward? The gold from the Underground City had to be at least ten million Gold Coins. He had only planned on extorting half, but the chap willingly offered it all.

Although Gold wasn’t much use to Amberser anymore, Hake Stone’s readiness to part with it was truly remarkable.

"You’ve lost the will to live, planning to give away all your fortune?" Amberser asked, his anger subsiding significantly.

Hake Stone, rubbing his almost dislocated wings, said helplessly, "I suddenly realized money isn’t that useful anymore. Lately, I’ve been drinking Dragon Blood directly, the Magic Power contained in one gulp is enough for a month. My living expenses are now handled by the Mermaids, so I don’t really have anywhere to spend money on. Aside from my books, I’ve recently found that gold is useless to me."

Halfway through, Hake Stone couldn’t help but say to Amberser, "I’ve been having nightmares lately, feels like my days of going to Hell are not far off. After all, you can’t take money with you, can you?"

Amberser curiously asked, "Nightmares? Weren’t you recently writing doctrines for Aige?"

Hake Stone wasn’t a Diviner Mage; it didn’t make sense for him to foresee his own unfortunate future. Besides, as Aige’s "Pope" and the God of Freedom’s representative, he should have some Divine Power protection; it was unlikely for him to have nightmares.

Hake Stone said disconsolately, "Anyway, I’m over it all. Life’s like this. When I go to Hell, you’ll look after me."

"You’re overthinking it. You don’t need my protection to descend into Hell now; you’re pretty famous." Amberser said.

"Huh?" Hake Stone was puzzled.

"Remember the many pieces I got from you and sold down in Hell? They’re pretty popular." Amberser explained.

That wasn’t an exaggeration; Hake Stone’s works were quite popular in Hell, mainly due to little competition. Of the novels Amberser had stuffed down there, Hake Stone’s "scandalous histories" were the most entertaining.

So now, those Devils with a bit of spare Soul Currency were rewarding his works with a few coins, and some were even beginning to clamor for updates.

But Amberser couldn’t care less; he was just testing the dissemination capabilities of the Magic Mirror, not really advertising for Hake Stone.

Hake Stone said, astounded, "You mean, I’m a celebrity in Hell too? My work can make money?"

Amberser nodded, "Yeah, you’re quite famous and have earned quite a bit of Soul Currency."

"What about my royalty share?!"

"It’s been deducted by me, any problems?"

"No, just asking."

...

Hake Stone learned his lesson and didn’t fuss about this so-called income anymore. Whether he could have a good life after descending into Hell depended on Amberser’s mood. Sucking up was crucial; what was royalty in the face of that.

Hake Stone promptly changed the subject, "You didn’t come to see me today just because of the biography I wrote, did you?"

"Of course not, I need you to do something for me." Amberser’s expression suddenly turned serious, before he continued, "I want you to go to Laine and help preside over a ceremony."

"Me, to Laine? If you want me dead, just say it!"

Hake Stone couldn’t hold back anymore and exclaimed, "I’m a Vampire, I can’t even stand sunlight, and you want me to go to Laine? Holy Light is a hundred times stronger than sunlight, I’d dissolve if I touched it!"

Amberser replied, "What are you thinking? If I’m sending you, I’ll ensure your safety. I will have the Laine People pack up all the Holy Light, and guarantee your safety."

"The Laine People will listen to you..." Hake Stone began to retort but paused and turned it into a question instead, "Will the Laine People really listen to you?"

Amberser nodded, "Of course, I’m a great benefactor of Laine, they wouldn’t refuse such a small favor, would they?"
