Chapter 598: Chapter 531 His Wish_2

Although he had already guessed it, the God of Alchemy was slightly disappointed, the second response was incorrect, and several responses of the same type also needed to be deleted.

With no other option, the God of Alchemy could only continue to search for new answers among everyone’s responses.

Each member of Elegy Poetry Society held a Magic Mirror, and upon receiving the question, they each provided different responses.

"I don’t know what wish he would make, but if it were me, I would wish for him to regain his emotions, as it’s time to resolve his situation with Rose. Dragging it out is not good," said the Headless Knight, Gareth.

"On the surface, he likes money, but in reality, he is fond of fame and has never been stingy with spending. So if he were to make a wish, he’d probably wish for endless money and admiration from everyone," said Dwarf Vampire Hake Stone.

"He helped me find the path to freedom, but I know he is always confused. If he were to make a wish, perhaps he would wish to find his true path to Deification," said Ghost Ship Aige.

"His wish? I don’t know what he would wish for, but whatever he wants, I’ll help him achieve it with all my might," said Withered Rose.

"My father’s wish? He must want to escape from Hell, but don’t worry, I will be able to save him soon!" said Melina.

...

One response after another appeared before the Clown Mask, but none gained the Envoy’s approval.

The God of Alchemy was helpless; enemies, friends, family... These people should know Amberser the best, yet if they couldn’t guess, who else could answer this question?

The God of Alchemy could only let fate decide by scrolling through all the responses, hoping that one might catch the Clown Mask’s approval.

As the messages tumbled along, the Clown Mask suddenly spoke, "Wait, this one, is quite interesting."

The God of Alchemy looked at the response remaining on the Magic Mirror, which indeed was very interesting.

"If he were to make a wish, perhaps, just to live forever?" said Diviner Mage William Harvy.

Just immortality? What kind of a wish is that?

There are too many methods for achieving eternal life in this world; does it need to be achieved through a wish?

The God of Alchemy thought it was unreliable, but the Clown Mask reacted, quickly sending another message to Harvy, "Why do you think so?"

Harvy quickly replied, and his content was very detailed.

"I’ve recently been studying notes left by my teacher, and I discovered he had a bad habit of leaving many strange reflections in his research notes. Especially before he transformed into a Lich, he always liked to write many death-related reflections in his notes."

"Not seeing the future is actually seeing the future."

"Although it’s a path leading to death, it is still called life."

"Some are not afraid of death, because their loved ones are there, but I have none, so I am afraid of death."

"In life, the last death is always one’s own."

...

"According to my teacher, all these thoughts were from some idiotic unknown. But I think that’s false; what idiot could possess such wisdom?"

The Clown Mask was apparently attracted to these philosophically laden words and issued a string of praises. However, he clearly wasn’t satisfied with the answer, and said to the God of Alchemy, "Ask that Diviner Mage how he views this Lich."

Seeing an opportunity, the God of Alchemy quickly relayed the question.

This time, Harvey took a long time to respond.

"My teacher was a very complicated man. I used to think he was just extremely greedy, but after I finished reading his works, I discovered many peculiar things. My teacher must have had a good life from birth to his youth. I could always sense his nostalgia in the lines of his notes, even though I never heard anything about amusement parks or universities.

"In my eyes, my teacher was extraordinarily talented yet quite lazy. He could learn any subject, but whenever he hit a bottleneck, he would switch to a new one rather than continue delving into the solitude of his studies. Therefore, it seemed he knew a bit of everything, but he never became the best in the world at any one thing. It seems he wasn’t interested in pursuing perfection, just in having enough to get by."

"My teacher was a pragmatist who had a deep understanding of human nature. He could easily see through others’ lies and guess what they were thinking. It might be hard to believe, but my teacher was the person who most believed in the goodness of humanity; however, he also liked to exploit this goodness. The more innocent and righteous a person was, the easier it was for my teacher to manipulate and use them."

"I can’t describe my teacher simply, but if you’re asking about his wishes... I can only say, he was very afraid of dying because he still had hopes for the future. He always felt that time would solve all problems, wishing to live until the day when he could resolve them himself. Defying fate, transforming into Liches, and gathering wealth were all just means for survival."

"So, if he were to make a wish, it would definitely be to live forever, whether as a Lich or perhaps in some other form."

Harvey’s reply ended there, and the God of Alchemy remained silent for a long time. No wonder the Clown Mask said he didn’t understand this student—everything Harvey said was entirely new to the God of Alchemy. Perhaps Amberser had never shown anyone his fear of death, a vulnerability only recorded fragmentarily in all his research.

If it weren’t for Harvey piecing together these fragments, nobody would know that the great World-saving Necromancer, like all ordinary people, was simply afraid of dying.

The God of Alchemy asked the Clown Mask, "Are you satisfied with this answer?"

The smile on the Clown Mask’s face grew clearer as he said to the God of Alchemy, "If you let him make a wish, he would wish to truly live forever. Is this the answer you helped him find?"

When the God of Alchemy nodded, the Clown Mask transformed into a stream of light and plunged into the Magic Mirror.

Amberser’s ethereal silhouette began to reappear, and the youth with black hair and eyes showed up once again, only this time, his face bore a clown mask.

Amberser looked incredulous. Just a moment ago, he had felt a surge of life force infuse his body, giving him a vitality he had never experienced before, as if he had suddenly returned to his youth.

This was the new life Ogma had granted Amberser, allowing him to have complete sensations and experiences as an Instrument Spirit, just as if he were alive.

All his desires had returned, and Amberser felt like an excited child, eager to swing the perfect cudgel and cut down the fields of cabbage around him.

Suddenly, Amberser clenched his fist and cursed, "That kid Harvey! Spilling everything!"

Earlier, that kid had recited hundreds of years of notes which, as the spirit of the Magic Mirror, Amberser saw clearly. He felt nothing at the time, but now, thinking back, he just wanted to dig a hole and crawl into it.

It was utterly embarrassing, like having a diary from a sophomoric period read aloud publicly.

The God of Alchemy finally showed a relieved smile and said to Amberser, "You little rascal, you really scared me. Have you finally been completely reborn? No complications this time, right?"

Amberser quickly said, "There shouldn’t be any now, I just feel full of energy!"

Filled with curiosity, the God of Alchemy asked, "Full of energy? What do you want to do?"

Amberser chuckled as if it were obvious, and replied, "What else but to go and fleece a few fat sheep in Hell!"

The God of Alchemy: ...

Harvey had misunderstood; this kid hadn’t changed at all, as greedy as ever.
