Chapter 570: Chapter 507: The Grandest Ceremony

From dusk to midnight, Silver Coin Island was completely quiet.

Laine thought the orcs would come looking for trouble, but having waited until midnight, there had been no activity. Just as he was believing that the night would pass peacefully, he suddenly heard a loud booming noise that scared the Laine People so much that they drew their weapons and piled on layers of Divine Arts, ready for battle at any moment.

But soon, they realized it was a false alarm.

The rumbling booms were just fireworks.

Countless dazzling fireworks tore through the night sky, bursting forth brilliant light that illuminated the entire island. The sky blossomed with multicolored flowers, breathtakingly dreamlike. The sea below, reflecting the fireworks’ brilliance, shimmered, as if the entire ocean was lit up.

No one in the world had ever seen a scene as beautiful as this.

They had seen fireworks before, but those were mostly used for long-distance communication, flying up with a bang and exploding into a bit of flame. Such things were not cheap, so no one had ever seen such a scene of countless fireworks blooming simultaneously.

It turned out fireworks could have so many colors, so many shapes.

Moreover, after the fireworks display began, a hymn to Talos began to echo throughout Silver Coin Island.

Storms, thunder, destruction... these stirring passages blended with the fireworks, presenting a spectacular show like no other.

Everyone was stunned by the scene before them.

Was this a deity’s wedding? So, a wedding could be this awe-inspiring.

Under the dual assault of visual and auditory stimuli, everyone’s attention was captivated by the ceremony.

At that moment, Amberser crossed above the highest point of the fireworks and entered into the clouds.

Enclosed by thunderclouds, Amberser arrived in front of a massive palace.

It was a desolate, ancient hall built entirely of huge rocks. Countless giants knelt outside the palace, worshipping the core where the thunder converged, loudly singing praises to Talos.

This was the Tower of Ruins, the projection of Talos’s Divine Realm.

Mortals cannot enter the Divine Realm directly unless allowed by a deity. Amberser, not a devoted follower of Talos, surely wouldn’t be admitted by Talos into his Divine Realm willingly.

But this time, he made an exception, projecting a part of his Divine Realm into the Mortal Realm, allowing Amberser to pause here.

The moment he entered the Divine Realm, Amberser felt his body enveloped by countless invisible thunders and wild winds. These weren’t physically manifest, but felt overwhelmingly real.

No wonder Talos dared to open his Divine Realm, letting any deity enter it.

Because he was strong enough, within the Tower of Ruins, Talos never feared anyone. Even the Lord of the Dawn, upon entering, would be torn apart by these fierce thunders and hurricanes.

Amberser walked past those giants. Even the giants prostrating on the ground were so tall that Amberser had to jump just to touch their knees, showing how enormous these giants were.

Amberser, like an ant crawling through a crowd, walked through the gaps into the Thunder Temple.

Fortunately, Talos disliked complicated decorations, so upon entering the temple, one could see the mighty deity sitting on the divine throne at the center, three differently-colored lightning bolts spreading from the throne into the unseen distance.

Amberser bowed his head, respectfully saluting according to the customs of Talos’s faith, holding up three fingers to demonstrate his piety. After performing a series of rituals, Amberser finally stood up, lifting his gaze towards this Lord of the Storm.

Talos, majestic as ever, looked down upon Amberser as if he were an ant.

"You’ve learned well enough to mimic the form."

The voice of Talos, mixed with thunder, was so overwhelming that it nearly shattered Amberser’s soul. Confronting a deity’s majesty was terrifying, capable of bringing a mortal to death even without any malice.

Amberser steadied himself, then said, "Respected Lord of the Storm, your wedding has been fully prepared."

Talos seemed not particularly concerned about the marriage but curiously asked Amberser, "Lich, you are to die today, yet you appear quite composed. Have you thought of a way to avoid your fate?"

Amberser shook his head, honestly replying, "The price of fate’s gift was written from the start, and now it’s time to repay; I have no thoughts of evasion."

"Heh, mortals certainly can’t, but gods might not find it impossible..." Talos’s gaze pierced the temple’s barriers and saw the grand fireworks display. These brilliant lights were performing his great deeds in the most stunning manner, displayed before all kingdoms.

"In light of these fireworks, I can offer you my help. I can elevate you to be my Lesser God right now,"

Talos’s words could drive any mortal mad with excitement—a chance to ascend to heaven in a single step lay before him, but Amberser calmly shook his head and said, "That’s impossible. Even someone as great as you cannot defy what fate has already determined. Even if I agreed, you couldn’t make me your Lesser God."

"Hahaha! Such audacity for a mere mortal. Do you even know what you’re talking about?"

A burst of savage power instantly applied to Amberser made every inch of his bones crackle. With just a thought from Talos, Amberser could have been reduced to ash, beyond saving even by the Life Casket.

"I know exactly what I am saying, great Lord of the Storm. Your mighty power could indeed destroy heavens and obliterate earth, but my destiny lies not here. You will neither grant me godhood nor kill me, no matter if Aeo had set any limitations. You can’t do it. The reason I came here was merely to fulfill my promise, not because I fear your glory,"

Amberser stood, gazing tranquilly up at the lofty deity as if truly fearless.

Talos almost said "I’d like to see you try," but instead, he burst out laughing: "Cunning Lich, I almost fell for your trick. I’m not going to make you my Lesser God that cheaply. I haven’t even set the conditions yet, and you almost had me tricked with your words. Put away your cleverness; I will not create another traitorous Vishalon.

"Nor will I be like the foolish Shael and Rose, tricked into violating Aeo’s rules. You still have one rebirth effect left on you, a gift from that ancient Shadow Sin, right? I’ve known everything all along; you could never deceive me."

Amberser: ...

Although he knew that no matter how hard Talos tried, he couldn’t change his fate, this self-proclaimed clever act was really embarrassing. You’re a deity of brutal destruction, not known for wisdom... Indeed, what one lacks is often what one brags about the most.

Amberser really did not want to squabble with this deity, who seemed like a mental case, during the last part of his life. He urged Talos again to start the wedding.

The main reason for choosing to have the wedding during the late night was that Talos’s glory shone better at night.

Thunder during the day never seemed as dazzling as at night.

Failing to discern Amberser’s thoughts, Talos could only snort coldly and reached out to grab a bolt of lightning.

It was a cage interwoven with countless thunders, within which the lobster-headed goddess Brivodoup lay weakly. Her body was much smaller than Talos’s, able to be toyed with in his hand. Brivodoup’s madness seemed to have vanished, leaving only listlessness.

Amberser had no complaints about this, as the mentally ill goddess had dug her own grave by causing most of her followers to convert to Aige, probably reducing her from intermediate to weak Divine Power, and naturally, she had no power to struggle against Talos.

Talos extended a finger, piercing into Brivodoup’s chest. Massive thunder surged into her body, inflating her like a balloon.

That twisted lobster head also started to change appearance, gradually taking human form.

Talos was sharing his Divine Power with Brivodoup and using his power to remodel her appearance, just as he had done with Vishalon before.

After being branded with Talos’s Divine Power, Brivodoup became completely enslaved to Talos, and unlike Vishalon, she could not escape. Talos wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

Amberser watched as the lobster-headed goddess was transformed into a towering, graceful beauty. Brivodoup’s body was also adorned with many tattoos of lightning and storms—shackles given to her by Talos.

Once the transformation was complete, the Koutao Mermaid Goddess had completely changed her appearance, unrecognizable to anyone.

Brivodoup knelt beside Talos, glaring resentfully at Amberser.

It was this very mortal who had reduced her to her current plight. Brivodoup wished she could smash the Lich with a slap.

However, Talos’s power prevented her from moving, and she could only be manipulated like a doll.

As the two main characters of the wedding were ready, fierce lightning appeared over Silver Coin Island, perfectly syncing with the halted fireworks.

The sky lit up once again, but this time thunder woven into the likenesses of Talos and Brivodoup, presenting the couple to all the guests.

With a grand gesture, Talos said to Amberser, "Go now, mortal. Today, you are the second lead, and I am looking forward to your performance."

Amberser bowed before retreating, and the next second, he was expelled from the Divine Realm, plummeting from the sky towards the ground.

Watching the island below grow larger, Amberser waved his hands, and the Magic Array on the island lit up, transforming the island into a massive Arena.

The wedding’s second ritual, the Divine Duel, began.

Whether you agree or not, the enemy’s Blade Edge will force you to resist.

A roar erupted from the Orc’s territory, sending an endless red glow hurtling toward the Laine People’s direction!
