Chapter 536: Chapter 482 I Come for Peace_2

As Ange Watson felt a surge of anger yet was powerless to act, the battlements were suddenly engulfed in shadows.

Ange Watson instinctively looked up, thinking that the Orcs had initiated another massive Ice Storm. He was about to warn the soldiers below to be alert, but then he realized that what obscured the sun was not the brewing storm clouds, but several enormous Sky Warships.

"Is that the Lich’s Black Tide? No, how can these be even bigger than the Black Tide?!"

Ange Watson’s first thought was that the Orcs, regardless of cost, had managed to buy those warships from the Lich.

While surprised, Ange Watson didn’t panic. He quickly retreated back into the castle while issuing commands to his followers.

All Jetpack Scouts to return; ground troops to take cover or keep moving to avoid being targets for these warships.

At the same time, Ange Watson turned on the Magic Mirror and contacted the Lich he had just cursed at vehemently.

When he saw Amberser’s Skeleton face appear in the mirror, Ange Watson immediately said, "Master Ultraman, do you think we Laine People cannot afford it? Can those dirt-poor Orcs afford to buy your warships, but we Laine People cannot?"

Amberser chuckled and said, "Don’t be nervous, my old friend. When have I ever sold warships to the Orcs? I only leased some small airships for scouting, none of which are armed."

"This is a battlefield, I hardly have time to play games with you here, Master. What are those huge warships in the sky? Don’t tell me they’re here for sightseeing."

Ange Watson clenched his fists tight.

At the start of the war, the Black Tide had appeared several times, each time causing great loss to the Laine People. If these warships in the sky were as powerful as the Black Tide, there would be no point in fighting; fleeing the city might offer a chance at escape before the city’s Magic Array was breached.

"You really have misunderstood. Ange, these warships are not sold to the Orcs, and they are not here to launch an attack against Laine. On the contrary, I come today for peace."

At this very moment, Amberser sat in the cockpit of a new warship, gazing at the empty surroundings, feeling somewhat emotional.

The damned Mentally Ill Goddess destroyed his Black Tide.

That was a true warship. The new warships he had built were merely shells; they lacked all the various weapons and aircraft, and collectively couldn’t match Black Tide.

They were merely larger in size, imposing in appearance, but would be exposed the moment they engaged in combat.

However, Amberser was here just to bluff, and that effect was sufficient.

Seven gigantic warships flew across the sky, even blocking the sunlight, enough to make both the Orcs and Laine People on the ground too scared to act rashly.

Not only was Ange Watson frightened, but the Orcs were also contacting Amberser, asking him if he had taken money from the Laine People.

It must be said, both sides had the same thought, which shows how deeply Amberser’s persona had been ingrained in their hearts.

Through the Magic Mirror, Amberser said to Ange Watson: "Today, I came not to wage war but to teach Laine and the Orcs to make peace. Ange, I hope both sides can cease fire; continuing to fight will only result in more innocent bloodshed."

Ange Watson was taken aback; he thought he had misheard.

Wasn’t this Lich waiting to profit from the war? As the war descended into the quagmire, it was his time to make a killing; why would he call a stop now?

In a flash, Ange Watson thought of many things but still didn’t understand Amberser’s intentions, so he directly asked, "Master Ultraman, what exactly are you trying to do?"

"To maintain world peace, isn’t that what I’ve always been doing? I mediated in the war between the Dwarves and the Elf Tribe, averting a major conflict and saving millions of lives. The Githyanki invasion from the Star Realm was also ended by me; even the great wars deep in the oceans swiftly concluded because of me..."

Amberser stated this so matter-of-factly that it made Ange Watson uncomfortable.

When a Lich claims to maintain world peace in front of a Paladin, Ange Watson felt the world had gone mad. What’s crazier is, for the moment, Ange Watson couldn’t think of how to rebut him; at least half of what this Lich said was true.

Damn it, unconsciously, this Lich had become a world-saving hero.

Wait, something’s not right, almost got dragged into his narrative.

Ange Watson quickly realized and pressed on, "Master Ultraman, what did you just say? You are planning to stop this war?"

Amberser sighed, "Although the grudges between the Orcs and Laine have become untangled, and the hatred between the two nations has persisted for a millennium, I still do not wish to see too many innocent lives sacrificed. So here I am, hoping both sides will accept my mediation."

Ange Watson:...

This Lich claiming he does not want to see innocent lives lost is like a tiger saying it’s going vegan, quite a story he’s concocted.

But at least this Lich wasn’t here to throw Undead Bombs at Laine; Ange Watson breathed a sigh of relief.

"Master Ultraman, what exactly do you mean by mediation? Can you make the Orcs retreat and return the lands that belong to Laine?"

Amberser glanced at Ange Watson. Of the three Watson brothers, Allen might be the least intelligent. This general mentions making the Orcs return the land immediately—it’s audacious; is that truly Paladin-like?
