Chapter 462: Chapter 434: Modern Warfare
One large and two small airships arrived above a certain sea area.
Amberser stood at the bow, looking at the boundless sea, and then made a gesture towards those behind him.
Hales and Hasting, the brothers, immediately understood Amberser’s intention. After a flurry of activity at the control panel, the three airships opened their lower chambers, and many tiny black substances fell like rain.
These were all Miscellaneous Fish Type One Undead, freshly produced from the factory, and now directly thrown into the ocean.
Amberser’s facial bones twitched slightly, having just thrown away three million Gold Coins.
It wasn’t just the production cost, but also the cost of using the Teleportation Circle to transfer them. The transportation fee was the most expensive.
But there was no other way. Amberser’s long-distance transportation line wasn’t fully established yet. To ensure the smooth completion of this war, he had no choice but to use this high-cost spatial transmission method.
Heartache aside, that’s just how warfare is—how can you win without spending money?
The first batch of Trash Fish Undead had been deployed. Under Amberser’s control, they began to scatter and slowly explore the sea area.
Sea battles are three-dimensional, so the most important thing is "air superiority." All members of the Sea Tribe try to occupy the parts closer to the sea surface during battle because it reduces the area they are vulnerable to attack and allows many attacks to rely on gravity.
But no matter how close they get, they are still in the sea, and there aren’t many Sea Tribe members who can fly.
Amberser, on the other hand, was entirely different. His airships occupied the skies above the horizon.
This was Amberser’s advantage. Should any problem arise, Amberser could just clap his hands and leave. A hundred meters in the air was an insurmountable chasm for the Sea Tribe.
Hasting reported, "Master, the Miscellaneous Fish Type One deployment is complete, and we have not encountered any enemies yet."
Amberser nodded, then said, "Begin deploying the Observation Pods and Guardians."
The three airships once again opened their chambers, and a dozen small submersibles were dropped into the sea, followed by a dozen bone creatures that resembled octopuses.
And as these things were thrown into the ocean, the Magic Mirror in front of Amberser also opened up several screens, some for real-time communication with others, and others showing images from within the sea.
Amberser said to the Magic Mirror, "Ange Watson, you are the commander for this battle. You should be clear about the combat objectives, right?"
On the other side of the Magic Mirror, Ange Watson straightened his collar and confidently said, "Rest assured, victory is certain in this battle!"
Having said this, Ange Watson shifted his gaze to the underwater images on the Magic Mirror.
These images were from the submersibles that Amberser had just deployed, a total of fifteen, each loaded with differently shaped Magic Mirrors. They could be controlled by voice command and were equipped with adjustable crystal lenses for varying the visual range.
But this required the commander to be highly skilled in operations.
Amberser knew he was not capable of operating fifteen cameras simultaneously, nor was Ange Watson, who could only manage nine; the remaining seven were divided among three other people.
Tiflin was in control of two, the Elf Tribe controlled two, and the remaining two were the responsibility of the brothers Allen and Kaid.
In Amberser’s perception, the Trash Fish Undead spread out around the submersible monitors in various formations, swiftly heading towards their predetermined targets.
This area belonged to the Sharkwa Fishmen, with moderate water temperature, just at the place where ocean currents pass through, hence bringing ample oxygen and food, as well as excellent lighting and habitat conditions.
The Sharkwa Fishmen had immediately taken a liking to this undersea area, an expanse covering eighty kilometers in diameter where the Sharkwa Fishmen lived.
Amberser’s first target was this place. If he could smoothly deal with the Sharkwa Fishmen here, he could then threaten the neighboring Kuotuo Murlocs and Yixi Manta Rays.
Amberser didn’t mind fighting on multiple fronts—the more enemies that die, the greater the advantage for the Undead.
The Trash Fish Legion entered stealth mode, but their speed was also not slow. Before long, they found trace of the Sharkwa Fishmen.
Amberser had started the troop deployment directly above the area, easily bypassing the Sharkwa Fishmen’s outer sentries. Therefore, when the Trash Fish Legion closed in, many Sharkwa Fishmen didn’t react in time.
They couldn’t react. Even though they had dealt with the ocean all their lives, they had never encountered such tiny, bizarre fish.
It wasn’t until the Trash Fish Legion began to accelerate, jets of water forming thousands of white lines along the ocean floor, that the Sharkwa Fishmen began to scream.
"Allen, your forces will outflank them from the south, cut off those trying to flee, and try to delay their call for help as much as possible!"
"Kaid, dive to the ocean floor, intersperse your formation, don’t let them create distance and regroup!"
"You two Tiflin idiots, don’t just think about stealing the limelight, did I ask you to charge? Pull your units back, didn’t you see the approaching enemies from the south, do you want to be completely annihiliated?!"
"Friends of the Elf Tribe, you have the freedom to maneuver, but don’t penetrate too deep into the battlefield. I reckon the Sharkwa Fishmen’s reinforcements will arrive soon. If we haven’t managed to deal with this group of fishmen, we will need your help to stall for time."
...
Ange Watson issued various orders in an orderly manner, constantly fine-tuning the positions and observation distances of those submersible cameras. Despite having simulated it countless times in dreams, Ange Watson still felt incredibly excited.
He had never commanded a war like this before. Thousands of kilometers away, hiding at home, he could control his forces to annihilate the enemy. Can this even be called war? It’s more like a one-sided slaughter.
