Chapter 449 - 421 Found Airel

Chapter 449: Chapter 421 Found Airel

Although Aige rejected Yizhuoluo’s suggestion, Amberser grew even fonder of the pirate gang leader. It was clear where Aige stood, she would definitely favor her friends from the Elegy Poetry Society after her deification, with Amberser naturally being her most favored one.

What could be more valuable than such a commitment?

Isn’t that what Amberser had been busy with all along?

Since Aige’s stance was so straightforward, there was no reason for Amberser not to support her.

It was troublesome, but the gains were equally significant. Moreover, now was the best time.

The Volcanic Ocean Region was a newly appeared territory, currently just entering a cooling period, with no race having fully occupied it yet.

Anyone could make a move, anyone could claim it – that was the advantage of a new territory.

Even better, this new territory didn’t even have any indigenous inhabitants, which made things much easier.

So, time was of the essence. Amberser immediately ordered Aige’s Silent Night Pirate Group to head for the Volcanic Ocean Region. It didn’t matter who else was there – they needed to secure the best territory first.

Standing on the deck of the Ghost Ship, Amberser said to a group of core members of the Silent Night Pirate Group, "I’m sending you to grab territory, but not territory that’s good for the Undead! It’s specifically regions that are particularly suited for living creatures to prosper and multiply. Do you understand?"

Phil was the first to express confusion, asking, "Why is that?"

"Because regions suitable for Undead to live in are unwanted; there’s simply no need to fight for them!"

The Undead could adapt to extreme environments, waters at a hundred degrees were death zones for other creatures, as a few minutes in there would cook them through.

But for the Undead, it wasn’t a problem at all. The flesh on their bodies had long since rotted away – would you care whether it’s cooked or not? Any temperature that doesn’t burn their bones to ash has no effect on the Undead.

Likewise, if a part of the ocean region has some harsh conditions, such as a lack of food or being unsuitable for the growth of marine plants, then small fish wouldn’t appear. Without small fish, there would be no large fish, and without large fish, not even the Murlocs would survive.

These regions typically contain substances that are harmful to living beings, maybe the sulfur concentration is too high, or perhaps the acidity is too severe, etc. They are death zones for the living, but they don’t affect the Undead.

Nobody would compete for such ruined places. The Undead don’t even have to lift a finger; these territories have already fallen into their hands.

Thus, Amberser aimed to snatch the good territories, areas that could sustain a large number of believers.

Aige aspired to become a Deity, not to snatch believers from already divided territories, so new territories were acceptable, weren’t they?

The Kuotuo Murlocs, those idiots, were perfect to serve as believers. As long as Aige didn’t mind her ship taking on the appearance of a lobster head, she likely wouldn’t mind tricking a group of Kuotuo Murlocs into becoming her worshippers.

As long as you don’t mind the ugliness, the Kuotuo Murlocs are the perfect believers.

Dumb yet devout, they provided ten times more Power of Faith than other races, creating a Kuotao Mermaid Goddess with Intermediate Divine Power out of sheer belief. Moreover, they were particularly easy to deceive; just show a bit of power, and the Kuotao Murlocs would worship you as a Deity, even their own Goddess couldn’t control the Kuotao Murlocs’ fickle affections.

Because that Goddess was also a nutcase, with unstable emotions, She couldn’t systematically develop Her faith and establish a church, making the Kuotao Murlocs incredibly easy to fool.

The preliminary plan: grab territory, snatch Kuotao Murlocs, raise them first, and then consider the issue of Power of Faith.

When the Silent Night Pirate Group heard that there was a war to fight, they all started howling with excitement, even Aige herself felt a bit thrilled.

Her body was a warship, and being bellicose was part of her nature.

Meanwhile, as Amberser was working hard to grab territory, Aeolus, who they had been tracking, completely vanished. There was no trace of him in the nearby waters at all.

The Son of God, whose appearance was ugly and who was only a few days old, was now thousands of kilometers away.

He had been swimming along, following the peculiar voices in his mind. The seawater aided him rather than hindered him, and the ocean currents constantly changed direction for him, allowing him to arrive at a desolate underwater cavern at incredible speed.

Here, Aeolus saw a group of strange Murlocs with large heads on small bodies.

Their fish-like heads were big and dopey, as if they were constantly displaying expressions of stupidity.

This was a large gathering of the Kuotao Murlocs, teeming with them. Aeolus only glanced once and saw tens of thousands, and in areas too dark to see clearly, one could just make out some silhouettes.

Although they looked dumb, they were incredibly devout, circling around a bizarre statue and incessantly chanting prayers.

However, after listening for a while, Aeolus realized that not a single phrase was repeated; it seemed like these prayers weren’t fixed but improvised by the Kuotao Murlocs themselves.

This strange worship scene, compared to the splendid and solemn rituals of the Mermaid Clan, made the Kuotao Murlocs seem very amateurish and even somewhat laughable.

Yet incredibly, strong Power of Faith that could be seen with the naked eye was converging on that Divine Idol.

This was an ugly statue constructed of stones, coral, and lobster shells, resembling a large nude female human with a lobster head, shoulders covered with articulated shells, and forearms like lobster claws... in short, it was quite bizarre.

And around the divine idol, many lobsters of varying sizes were crawling, the small ones were only the size of a palm, but the larger ones were even bigger than whales.

These ancient crustaceans seemed to be devotees of this deity as well, equally engaged in prayers in a language that couldn’t be heard.

Aeolus had been startled by this strange scene until that mysterious voice appeared in his mind once again.

"Come, come to my side, child, I have been waiting for you for a long time."

Aeolus responded with confusion, "You’ve been waiting for me for a long time? But I don’t even know you."

But the other party answered, "But I have known you for a long time, at the inception of the universe, I contemplated in the chaos, and then I foresaw today’s encounter."

The lobster-headed goddess statue seemed to have come to life, slowly turning its head toward Aeolus, its antennae waving about as if beckoning him.

Aeolus wasn’t scared; instead, he stepped over those devout followers and approached the divine idol.

As he drew near, a whirlpool emerged and sucked Aeolus in.

When Aeolus came to his senses, he found himself in a dripping wet cavern.

There, the lobster-headed goddess appeared to him as a spectral light and shadow.

"May I ask who you are?" Aeolus inquired.

The lobster head introduced itself, "I am Brivodoup, a deity born from the primordial chaos, existing before the world was created."

"But aren’t Lady of White Night Serene and Dark Goddess Shael the ones born from chaos?"

"They are merely children," Brivodoup said disdainfully.

"I am an existence even older than them. You cannot begin to imagine my power. I hold ancient spells beyond even the Magic Goddess’s understanding; every plane, every ocean belongs to me."

Aeolus frowned, although not very bright, he did know about the Ocean Deity Faction, where the Koutoa Mermaid Goddess seemingly ranked quite low.

However, facing a deity, one must maintain respect, which is the duty of a mortal.

So Aeolus did not refute Brivodoup’s self-aggrandizing claims and instead asked, "So, goddess, why have you summoned me?"

Brivodoup laughed, "You are the son of Talos, aren’t you?"

Aeolus was shocked but immediately shook his head and said, "No, that’s not true, I merely worship the Lord of the Storm, Talos."

That was Father God’s command, forbidding him from claiming to be the Son of God and from revealing it to anyone.

"What? You’re not?" Brivodoup seemed a bit shocked and angrily said, "Impossible, I remember you are, you were created by him with thunder... wait, no, this isn’t right, why is your power of the sea... no, this isn’t right."

Aeolus watched as the lobster-headed goddess spiraled into a frenzy of self-doubt, with countless mists of whirlpools appearing, carving deep marks into the surrounding ground.

In the end, Brivodoup roared, "No, no, you were created by Talos as a Son of God, don’t try to deceive me!"

This time Aeolus did not respond; he was now thinking of fleeing. Staying here with this mad goddess would only lead to an additional death.

But then, as if unconcerned, Brivodoup said, "But it doesn’t matter, regardless of whether you are or not, someone has deceived you, and I cannot disregard that. Blood of a god flows through you, and I will not allow you to be deceived by others in the ocean."

Aeolus hastily asked, "Goddess, what are you talking about? Who has deceived me?"

"Do you need to ask? It is that Lich, that despicable, cunning, malicious, greedy... that Lich who should have ascended to godhood long ago. He claims to be your friend, but in reality, he deceives you time and time again. He wants to make you his tool! To use you, and then to use you against Talos."

Upon hearing this, Aeolus exclaimed in astonishment, "How is that possible?! The Lord of the Storm is so exalted, and what ability does he have to face a deity? Besides, he’s my friend; he has no reason to deceive me!"

"What ability? Young lad, don’t you realize? Rose, Shael, Zariel, Goddess Tiamat, Rowetta... countless deities have suffered at his hands. Rose is already half dead, Shael has completely vanished, and the other goddesses are not much better off. Think about it, if a Lich can deceive a deity, how could you possibly escape?"

Still, Aeolus was unwilling to believe it. After all, Amberser had always been kind to him in his heart, even helping him find a wife.

However, Brivodoup, as if seeing through his heart, mocked, "Don’t you understand? The Airel he helped you find is fake!"

"How can you say that? I haven’t even seen what the Mermaid High Priestess looks like," Aeolus said agitatedly.

"Of course, I know, because the Airel you’re looking for is here with me."

Brivodoup waved a hand, and a creature with a human head and a lobster body appeared, its face exactly like the Airel Aeolus had seen before.
