Chapter 409: Chapter 381 Announcing to the Whole World

Shael’s phantom extended a finger, touching it to Amber’s forehead as it uttered an incantation.

The dark knowledge parasitic on Amberser’s soul transformed into countless vermin, beginning to devour his soul voraciously.

In just a moment, Amberser’s soul was shattered.

Shael wasn’t faring well either; Its body, formed from black mist, was completely torn apart by an invisible force, causing Shael to emit a heart-wrenching scream.

It seemed a lose-lose situation, with Shael accepting the punishment of Aeo in exchange for the complete annihilation of Amberser, but before Shael’s phantom vanished completely, Amberser’s fragmented soul began to heal once more.

The soul, already terribly fractured, was protected by some special power, slowly returning to its original form.

Amberser took a long breath and said to the faint remnants of Shael, "I didn’t expect you to actually lose your restraint and act, and now that you have breached the contract first, the knowledge of the Magic Web is entirely mine."

Initially, when the contract was signed between them, Amberser was forbidden from teaching the knowledge of the Magic Web to anyone; he couldn’t even write it down, and Shael was not to use this knowledge to harm Amberser directly, as the knowledge had been received straight into the soul as a safeguard.

And now, Shael had broken this rule.

How much punishment It received was uncertain, since Amberser was not Aeo and had no idea what the God above Gods was thinking. However, he guessed the punishment would not be light, otherwise, Shael wouldn’t have been hiding in the shadows for years, with Aeo completely unconcerned about Its wellbeing.

As for Amberser... he had known for a long time that he would be unharmed. After all, his soul had been shattered before.

It was the previous time he had schemed against the Chosen of God of Rose, causing Rose to expend a great deal of energy in creating those Chosen, only to have them killed, losing much divine power.

In that moment, the Rose Spider Queen lost her composure and struck out at Amberser.

The power of a Deity was undefeatable, and Amberser was obliterated from head to toe, soul included.

But before setting off, a Poet from the Elegy Poetry Society had blessed him with a thrice-repeated spell effect similar to an Anti-Death Barrier. Only after the battle did Amberser discover that this blessing seemed to last a very long time, and the effect still remained until now.

Moreover, this blessing appeared to be of a very high level, a special state that fundamentally could not be dispelled, allowing even Amberser, crushed by divine power, to be reborn whole.

The Rose Spider Queen had used it once, with Shael using it the second time.

And so, Amberser was revived successfully.

Looking at the barely visible phantom of Shael, Amberser waved his hand and said, "Goodbye. Go back to your Divine Realm with your regrets, heal well, and next time, we can continue to do business."

The fading phantom of Shael opened its mouth, appearing to utter some venomous curse, but Amberser could no longer hear it.

His mind felt at ease, yet countless pieces of knowledge began flooding in.

All the knowledge related to the Dark Web that Shael had experimented with over the years—all of it was given to Amberser without any repercussions.

Shael would no longer be able to use this knowledge to locate Amberser, nor could It use it to exert any influence on him.

Without a doubt, this was Aeo’s doing; Shael would not observe a promise so easily if not for the fact that it had sworn in front of Aeo.

And this time, Aeo seemed to show extraordinary care for Amberser, punishing the "rebellious daughter" who broke the rules and handing over the entire stake to Amberser.

"Praise Aeo, Your devout child heeds Your teachings, Your grace as omnipresent as the sky and earth..."

Amberser quickly recited a few lines of prayer in praise of Aeo, which he had found from countless ancient texts about Aeo.

But unfortunately, Amberser received no response.

As expected, Aeo never cared about what mortals thought, the only thing of concern being whether the Deities followed the rules He had set.

With a hint of regret, Amberser opened the sealed barrier, and then he saw Withered Rose with a face full of concern.

Amberser smiled and said, "Don’t worry, all is well. The trouble has been dealt with, it’s just a slight regret that we didn’t find the mastermind behind it all."

Relieved, Withered Rose said to him, "You’ve reached a contract with Shael?"

Withered Rose had been completely unaware of what had occurred inside the barrier, a usual precaution by Amberser as you don’t go all the way when doing things, right? Threatening a Deity was something that was done with just the two present, allowing the Deity some dignity. But if you played threats in front of everyone, then for the sake of face they’d have to fight it out with Amberser.

But it had been unexpected for Shael to suddenly become so unyielding, completely contrary to Its customary scheming and trickery.

It was acceptable, all things considered. After all, he had grudges against many, and now he had not only removed the troubles within his soul but had also gained the entire knowledge of the Dark Web.

Amberser gave a simple explanation, and Withered Rose was so shocked that her mouth hung open.

"You... you’ve caused another Goddess to be punished by Aeo? And you’re still jumping around alive!" Withered Rose didn’t know what to say.

"What of a Goddess? If Shael had been capable, she wouldn’t have been beaten into hiding by Serene. That was then, this is now. The current Shael will probably need to recover for hundreds of years, so we don’t have to worry about her causing trouble for the time being."

The only pity was that this time he didn’t manage to strip Shael of her Deity Position.

It seems Shael wasn’t exaggerating; as a primal Goddess, she had added color to the world when it was first born and fought wars for it, a Goddess who had shed blood and earned her merit. Her misfortune was because she had fought with her own sisters, and Aeo, the old father, couldn’t show favoritism.

Now, with Shael causing trouble with a mortal, Aeo’s punishment of her might be lighter, probably not stripping her of her Deity Position.

This was not to say that Aeo was unfair—Amberser wouldn’t dare think so. That Aeo punished Shael according to their contract was punishment enough, and it was expected that Shael wouldn’t dare show herself for hundreds of years.

And now, Amberser held the knowledge of Shael’s Dark Web in his hands. If he were to give this to the Magic Goddess, the merit would be tremendous.

When Amberser was a Mage Apprentice, he had fantasized more than once about meeting that Goddess in a dream and then... but every time it had remained just a dream. Using this knowledge to trade for a one-night stand with the Magic Goddess wouldn’t be too much, would it? If not that, he should at least attain the status of Chosen of God and thus fulfill the dreams he once had.

Amberser felt so happy he wanted to hum a tune, and all Withered Rose could do was sigh at the audacity of Amberser.

Withered Rose had seen non-believers before, but that was only because they had not received responses from the Deities and gradually abandoned their faith. Most people still held the Deities in awe.

Only Amberser, he truly feared no Deity and even dared to scheme against them. If one were to really count, he was the true non-believer.

Withered Rose felt increasingly that Amberser was out of the ordinary; with so many Deities in this world, it was possible that Amberser was even more special than them.

Feeling somewhat excited, Withered Rose asked Amberser, "What do we do now? The danger has been eliminated, do we just leave this place?"

Amberser looked toward the boundless sea and after a moment of contemplation said, "No, since we’ve already taken a stand, and I don’t know who the mastermind behind all this is, running away is possible, but what about next time?"

Amberser was tired of having insincere dealings with those Deities behind the scenes; it really hindered the speed of his money-making.

Rose, Shael, he had tricked two Goddesses into spitting blood. Now he just wanted to shout, "Who else?!"

Dammit, daring to bluster in the Mortal Realm, they really think mortals are easy to bully?

Amberser wanted to make those masterminds behind the scenes understand, he was no longer the meek and malleable legendary figure of the past; he feared no one, even in a direct confrontation.

It was time to let those Deities know who they were contending with!

And now, Amberser needed to properly transform this little island.

He didn’t know how many enemies he had, but Destiny would ensure that every one of them received Amberser’s notice. No matter how many were willing to come, this battle wouldn’t be simple.

Therefore, Amberser needed a secure rear, to turn this island into his Mage’s Tower in the shortest possible time.

It might have been impossible before, but now, Amberser possessed a personal space where time could be adjusted. All magic products could be produced in an accelerated fashion within his private space and then moved out for construction.

In addition, Amberser now had full knowledge of the Dark Web, which gave him a deeper understanding of magic. Given time to study at his leisure, it would allow him to advance further. This knowledge would be perfect for constructing a small Magic Web for this island.

After spending a day in his private space, Amberser moved out a large quantity of magical items made of countless metal pieces forming a Magic Array. He handed these pieces to Withered Rose for construction, and then Amberser summoned the Golden Throne, flying into the midair.

Tens of thousands of Dice of Destiny danced around him and then shot out like a meteor shower.

In an instant, these intangible Dice of Destiny traveled dozens and hundreds of kilometers, falling into every corner of the sea.

Amberser didn’t use his divination power to change anything; he simply wove a meaningless future that would let all of his enemies know that Amberser was going to stay on this island for one month.

Amberser declared to the world, "I’ll be here waiting for you for one month. If you want to kill me, come at me."

No matter if they were monstrous Demons sent by the Deities or all those who had grudges against him throughout his centuries-long life, as long as they were still alive, they would receive the notification in different ways.

In a month’s time, Amberser wanted to show the world what it meant to be a legendary Diviner Mage, what it meant to be Elegy Poetry Society.

He wanted to ensure that after this battle, the entire world would only approach him with the utmost respect when hearing his name and would only talk business with him, with no more gods or goddesses popping up to threaten him.
