Chapter 391: Chapter 363: Seeing Laila Again

There had been a huge change in the Laine Empire, and by the time Amberser heard about it, he had already left the Laine border, entering the territory of the Emerald Dream Forest.

Kaid Worson contacted Amberser using a Magic Mirror, saying that he had found a buyer for the flying backpack and also relayed the news to him.

It seemed like the Young Emperor of Laine had become a different person, not only persuading the Shield of the Empire to give up impeaching himself but also subduing other members of the Ryan Royalty, securing his position on the throne once again.

Amberser expressed his doubt, "Does the kid have such ability?"

If Price Lein truly had this ability, how could he appear so foolish on the battlefield?

There must have been something that happened, but unfortunately for Amberser, Kaid Worson was his only inside source in Laine territory, so he could only ask him to continue gathering information.

However, after the recent major defeat of the air force, Kaid Worson had been demoted, and he had become a small team leader in charge of guarding the gates of the Imperial Capital. It was difficult for him to gather information about the Imperial Family.

The Young Emperor regained the loyalty of the Shield of the Empire and then wrote a sincere letter of apology to the Laine people, providing an explanation for the previous battle’s failure by taking the responsibility upon himself.

Sometimes, if you stubbornly refuse to admit fault, the opposition presses harder. Before the Young Emperor’s apology, many Laine people could hardly wait to rebel right then. But after his formal apology, their resentment seemed to dissipate a lot.

Even though Price Lein did not receive any substantial punishment, the Emperor’s apology was enough to stabilize the situation within Laine for the short term, making sharp conflicts unlikely to erupt anytime soon.

Amberser was a bit curious about who the wise person advising the Young Emperor was, but that wasn’t very important.

The division within Laine wasn’t something a simple apology could resolve. Extreme zealotry would quickly give way to differing opinions after a failure, and delaying would not change the future of the Empire.

Moreover, there was Allen active within Laine territory, and it was said that he had already gained the support of several important figures, with a hundred elite under his command.

Truly worthy of being the chosen one, the kid’s power was accumulating too fast, and sooner or later, he would stab a knife into the Laine Empire.

And there was Amberser, piloting the Black Tide to the Emerald Dream Forest. This time, he didn’t disturb the Druids but chose a spot on the edge to enter the dense forest.

He had intended to directly enter the Dream, bypassing the Druids and having a chat with the Lady of Mist to see how well her Divine Power had recovered.

However, no sooner had the Black Tide landed than the Druids appeared, as if they had been waiting for him.

Amberser did not order the Black Tide to attack but walked out of the cabin with Melina and the others, as he had a premonition that the Druids were not here for a fight.

Indeed, the moment he disembarked from the ship, Amberser saw a familiar face, the youngest Legendary Druid—Brandir.

Brandir, with a strained look on his face, respectfully said, "Master Ultraman, welcome to our land."

Amberser asked with suspicion, "Welcome? I hope you’re not being sarcastic. You know my name, so you should be aware that I’ve clubbed you over the head before."

When Amberser first came here, he used the identity of Monger Greyriver.

The second time, he came in his Mecha form, directly attacking and giving Brandir a good thrashing.

Both times had nothing to do with the name Diga Ultraman, so for Brandir to directly call out this name, he must be aware of many things.

Indeed, after hearing what Amberser said, several veins bulged on Brandir’s forehead.

Brandir, grinding his teeth, said, "Indeed, I heard from the Lady of Mist about the misunderstanding before. You were in conflict with me in order to revive a great Deity. I won’t take it to heart."

This concern seems to weigh heavily on your heart, almost like a stone pressing down, doesn’t it?

But, did Laila tell him the truth?

This is not normal. The druids used Laila’s body to create the barrier engulfing the entire Emerald Dream Forest. It’s only because Laila holds no grudges that she has not settled scores with them. Otherwise, she would have turned on them long ago. How could she possibly reveal the secret to these druids?

And it looks like these druids have also tacitly approved of Amberser’s act of breaking in and hurting people, right?

"Brandir, give me a straight answer, what did you do to the Lady of Mist?" Amberser asked very seriously.

Hearing the change in Amberser’s tone, Melina, standing by his side, emitted a golden light from her right eye, casting a vast array of shadows throughout the forest. All those were druids transformed into little birds, and in Melina’s gaze, they could not hide.

Hasting’s mechanical body began to hum, ready for battle at any moment.

As for the mercury-like Hales, he was hiding inside his brother’s mechanical body, ready to give these druids a little surprise at any time.

Although Amberser was surrounded by the druids, he was not afraid in the slightest.

Not to mention Melina’s Anti-Magic Barrier, which utterly countered this group of druids, just the Black Tide alone could bomb these druids into crying for their dads and moms. Amberser himself was no longer the legendary pushover; with the blessing of the Golden Throne, there was not a mage in the world who could match his casting speed and mana capacity.

The atmosphere grew tense and confrontational. Brandir also desperately wanted to engage in open combat with Amberser then and there, but he ultimately restrained himself and said to Amberser, "Master Ultraman, we have come to convey the Lady of Mist’s orders, not to fight you. If you come with us, you will naturally be able to meet the Goddess."

After carefully sensing it, Amberser realized that Brandir was not lying.

Could it be that Laila made some kind of agreement with these druids?

Amberser said to Brandir, "Alright, then please lead the way."

Only then did Brandir breathe a sigh of relief and turned to lead the way ahead.

Amberser did not relax his vigilance, allowing Melina to find all the hidden druids along the way. This made the group of druids lose face, but they just looked discontented without making a move, as if they had some sort of concerns.

Deeper into the Emerald Dream Forest, Amberser discovered that the effects of the Dreamweave Barrier had disappeared; he could not directly enter dreams to meet Laila.

This situation seemed a bit off.

After a long journey, Amberser came to the huge banyan tree he had visited before.

It was here that he gave Brandir a sound thrashing, and it was under this tree that he dug up Laila’s remains and resurrected her with the powers of the Dark Clergy.

Returning to the old place, Brandir’s expression grew even uglier, but he said nothing and only led Amberser to the top of the banyan tree.

There stood the majestic statue of Sylvanas, the Father of the Oak, a pilgrimage site for all druids.

And in front of Sylvanas’s statue, the Lady of Mist Laila stood in black clothing, seemingly waiting for a long time.

"You’ve arrived," greeted Laila with a smile, seeming not at all like a Goddess, but more like a friend of Amberser’s.

"Respected Lady of Mist, what exactly is going on? You and those druids..."

Laila calmly said, "I have been invited by Sylvanas to become his Lesser God."
