Chapter 306: Chapter 284: Can Only Sell It Now

The God of Alchemy was right, after hearing the truth, Amberser indeed felt a surge of anger.

It was as if his very soul was trembling from the loss of what originally belonged to him, and his bones were cracking in frustration.

If he hadn’t known the truth, he could have kept blaming the God of Alchemy for being irresponsible. Now that everything was out in the open, the responsibility fell on his own shoulders.

This damned fate!

Amberser even suspected that right after he had transmigrated, he had been marked by the Goddess of Fate, weaving through hundreds of years of tumult and exile, only to deliver the fatal blow—"You could have become a deity, but it was you who missed the chance."

This was indeed a deadly strike, leaving Amberser feeling so aggrieved that he wished for death.

However, being a Lich, he quickly suppressed these negative emotions. Amberser set aside the unpleasant past for the moment and started thinking about how he could make a comeback.

A single loss doesn’t matter, as long as one can recover later on.

Amberser asked, "If I devour these four divine powers in one gulp, could I become a powerful deity?"

"What are you thinking? Swallowing more won’t do any good, the amount of divine powers doesn’t greatly influence the strength of a deity. Do Drow Elves worship you? Do you understand them? How much research have you done on corruption? And about spiders, how many have you kept? In the end, there’s only the Darkness that’s somewhat related to you, but even that divine power isn’t impressive. Shael is the true Dark Goddess, and the Rose Spider Queen’s dark divinity is very weak.

"So, even if you devour these four divine powers in one gulp, you’ll end up a lesser deity, weaker than even me, just waiting to be overthrown."

Usurping someone else’s divine powers requires an adaptation process, which could take years or even centuries. During this period, it’s impossible to gain matching strength. And the deities that loathe Amberser would definitely not give him the chance to adapt.

"It seems like my only option is to sell them, then. I have to give one divine power to the Withered Rose and another one to the Dragon Race. Which two should I keep for myself?"

The God of Alchemy suggested, "Among these four powers, the most valuable to you are the Drow Elf and Corruption. The divinity of the Spider is also strong, but it would have a great impact on you, possibly mutating you into an Undead Spider, significantly altering your original personality. As for the Darkness, honestly, it’s a trap. As long as Shael exists, any divine power of Darkness will be oppressed by her."

Deities of the same type can easily crush or even devour lesser divine powers.

The Rose Spider Queen’s dark divinity is merely the icing on the cake; her true power doesn’t come from it, so she’s unaffected.

But if Amberser were to devour this divine power, Shael could suppress him to death. Amberser would completely lose his ability to resist in front of this goddess.

After pondering for a moment, Amberser said, "The Drow Race, this divine power should be the most important, right? The growth of power from worshippers would be extremely rapid. With enough followers, I could become a powerful deity in a single day."

The God of Alchemy nodded and said, "The principle is correct, but how much time will you spend integrating the Drow Elves, getting them to provide you with power?"

Amberser could continue to deceive the Drow Elves in the name of the Rose Spider Queen, intercepting the power generated from their worship. However, since the Drow Elves are so downtrodden, how much power can they offer him in the short term? Certainly not enough to protect him.

"Alas, the question now is to whom I should sell these divine powers," Amberser said with a sigh.

"Of course, to deities. Shael is actually the best trading partner," the God of Alchemy stated.

"She doesn’t want to part with a single coin."

If Shael had offered a decent benefit, Amberser wasn’t against negotiating with her, but the goddess was incredibly stingy, trying to swindle four divine powers with a worthless blessing. There was simply no basis for negotiation.

The God of Alchemy thought for a moment, then said, "Then sell to other deities. There are many who despise the Rose Spider Queen, and they’re all eager to see her downfall."

Amberser also realized that the Elven Gods were indeed the best choice.

The Rose Spider Queen was the ex-wife of Corellon, the chief deity of the elves, and after their divorce, they had turned from love to enmity, from allies to mortal enemies. Corellon expelled her and punished her severely.

As a result, the Drow Elves split from the other Elf Tribes.

If he sold the Drow Elf divinity to the Elven Gods, they would surely offer a satisfactory price.

The Elven Gods were famously generous and wealthy—just look at Katherine, draped in countless blessings and wielding several Divine Artifacts.

Amberser wasn’t greedy; even a single assurance from the Elven Gods ensuring his protection once he ascended to godhood would be worth it.

"Alright, the decision is made," Drow Race’s divine position will be sold to the Elf Tribe, and as for the Spider’s divine position, perhaps selling it to the Dragon Race would be suitable—they tend to enjoy exotic things, and spiders should fall within their range of interests. As for Withered Rose, she isn’t aiming to ascend to godhood, but rather intends to trade her divine position for benefits from other Deities. Just pick any random one for her."

After a long deliberation, Amberser decided to keep the Corruption divine position for himself and gift the Dark Clergy to Withered Rose, while the Spider divine position would go to the Dragon Race. The most powerful divine position of the Drow Race would be sold to the Elf Tribe.

Since everything was ready, Amberser did not waste any time and attempted to use the Necromancy Codex to deliver the divine positions to the others, but he failed.

The God of Alchemy laughed, "What are you thinking? Those are divine positions, how could they just be sent casually? Even a Divine Artifact like this book couldn’t do it. And no, Teleportation Circles won’t work either; this kind of thing would just blow the circles up."

"That troublesome? Do I really have to deliver them personally?"

Amberser did not want to go through such trouble; to Silvermoon Tribunal wasn’t too far if he were to fly there.

But going overseas would be a hassle—that could take months of flying, right?

"It seems I’ll have to let them come and collect them themselves."

Amberser informed everyone about this on the Necromancy Codex. Withered Rose immediately indicated that she would come as soon as possible to take the divine position but would need to finish her current tasks first. Since the recent war to suppress the rebellion, a large expanse of territory in Gloomyland had fallen into Withered Rose’s hands, and she was now busy managing these lands, making it difficult for her to leave.

As for the Dragon Race, it was Gareth who would come to take the divine position.

After all, the Dragon Race could not easily set foot on the continent, so it was only sensible for this son-in-law to personally escort the divine position.

Just as he was about to bid farewell to the God of Alchemy, the deity spoke to Amberser again, "I sense that some of my power will be restored, and I will be able to bestow new blessings upon Alchemists. Give me some time to adapt to the expansion of my divine positions, and then I can give you new blessings."

"New blessings?"

"Indeed, it’s likely related to your own research habits. I can’t be certain right now, but it’ll definitely be something good."

"Then I’ll await your blessing."

At this, Amberser finally felt a bit happier; it was not such a bad deal after all.

A new blessing, even if in the realm of Alchemy, should be of great help.

Once everything was settled, Amberser hurried back to Dew City, where he spent several days storing one thousand drones in the warehouse. This completely used up all of Amberser’s spare parts in stock, but he estimated that these should sell for a while.

After handling this, Amberser returned to the underground laboratory to start improving the jet-powered flyers.

Wanting to negotiate business with the Elf Tribe in Silvermoon Tribunal, he couldn’t possibly fly there with a Flight Spell—that would take an eternity.

Since research into jet propulsion would benefit the God of Alchemy, Amberser decided that honing the tool wouldn’t delay the work and began developing a stable Jet Engine before flying to Silvermoon Tribunal. Perhaps he would be able to promote the Jet Engines to the Elves and expand his business channels.

The principle of the Jet Engine is derived from the Magic Conduction Cannon: it involves compressing air and then ejecting it. The main reason for explosions in previous trials was the perfunctory materials Amberser used, as he had initially planned to treat it as a disposable item.

Now, to create a stable Jet Engine, some costs would have to be incurred. Not just the materials, but also the construction of the Magic Array that generates air pressure had to be revisited. The instantaneous explosive discharge needed to be converted to a continuous, stable ejection, requiring an adjustment in the structure of the Magic Array.

With this renewed focus, Amberser entered an endless state of experimentation.

Even Harvey found it hard to see his own mentor, at most doing so when it came time to report expenses.

Engrossed in this relentless research, Amberser finally created a new type of Jet Engine.

The size was significantly reduced; the original Jet Engine was larger than Amberser himself, but now it had been reduced to the size of a backpack, perfect for fitting onto the back of a Mithril Mech.

Even the Hell Armor had been modified: its purpose was not to provide thrust but to adjust the direction of force. The ejected flames allowed Amberser to freely change direction while flying.

Next was the practical application.

Amberser strapped on the body of the Mithril Mech, donned the Hell Armor, secured the Jet Pack, and then resolutely activated all the power.

Following a loud noise, Amberser soared towards Silvermoon Tribunal at supersonic speed.
